Blaqbonez denies alleged harassment, seeks legal action

Rapper Blaqbonez has spoken out against false allegations circulating online, claiming they are part of a sustained harassment and intimidation campaign by certain individuals in the music industry.

An unidentified woman has accused Blaqbonez of harassment, cyberstalking, and emotional abuse, alleging that he subjected her to months of intimidation and humiliation after she declined his romantic advances.

According to a statement by her lawyer, Taiwo Akinsulie, the alleged harassment included blackmail, bullying, and invasion of privacy.

The woman further alleged that Blaqbonez unlawfully obtained and circulated private indecent videos of her without her consent.

In response, Blaqbonez denied the allegations, stating they stem from a past personal relationship that ended respectfully and has been twisted to fit a broader professional rivalry.

He wrote: “Over the past few days, several false and deeply distressing allegations have been circulated online about me. These claims are not only untrue, they are part of a sustained pattern of harassment and intimidation that I have endured for months from certain individuals within the music industry”.

Blaqbonez revealed that he had endured bullying, physical assaults, and online attacks for nearly a year, choosing to remain silent in the hope that the truth would speak for itself.

“For nearly a year, I have stayed silent and endured repeated bullying, physical assaults, and online attacks, believing that the truth would speak for itself. There comes a point when silence allows falsehoods to spread unchecked. So I am speaking now: I have done nothing wrong. At the heart of these stories lies a personal relationship from my past, one that ended respectfully and without conflict.

“That private chapter has now become entangled with professional rivalries in the music industry. What began as a personal matter between two adults has been pulled into a broader feud, reshaped and used as ammunition in a campaign to discredit me publicly”.

However, with the allegations gaining traction, he felt compelled to address them.

He added: “The accusations being pushed are deliberate fabrications designed to damage my name, my work, and everything I’ve built. They have caused pain to my family, my team, and those who support me. It’s disheartening to see people weaponise falsehoods for attention and revenge”.

The rapper has assured his fans that he is cooperating with authorities to establish the truth and is taking legal action to protect himself against harassment and defamation.

“I’m cooperating fully with the authorities to ensure that the truth is established once and for all. I have nothing to hide, and I welcome transparency. I’m also taking steps through my legal team to protect myself against the harassment and defamation I’ve endured over the past year”, he added.

Blaqbonez emphasised commitment to honesty and self-belief, values that he represents in his art.

Blaqbonez concluded his statement by thanking his supporters and reiterating his focus on clearing his name and continuing with his music.

He warned against the dangers of false accusations and bullying, emphasising that they can have real-life consequences.

He concluded: “I’ve worked hard to represent honesty and self-belief in my art. That will not change. The truth will come out, and when it does, I hope this moment reminds everyone that false accusations destroy real lives, and that bullying, whether physical, digital, or psychological, must never be tolerated.

“I won’t allow personal grudges or online hostility to define who I am or distract me from my purpose. The truth is not afraid of light, and that’s where I stand.
Thank you to everyone who’s reached out in support. My focus remains on my music, my peace, and clearing my name”.

I don’t want to disappoint fans – Blaqbonez

Rapper Blaqbonez has revealed that his biggest fear as an artist is disappointing his fans.

In an interview with Amarudontv, the rapper admitted that his supporters have played the most important role in shaping his career.

“I don’t want to ever disappoint my fans. I don’t know so many artists can say that it’s their fans that got them to where they are. Me I’m so certain that it’s my fans that got me to where I am,” he said.

He explained that unlike some artists who rise through major publicity or endorsements, his success has been powered by loyal fans who constantly push his work.

“I’ve never felt like I’ve been this big publication guy that they put me in this place and I got all these streams from this or I just woke up and this person posted me and everybody is talking about me, it’s never really been like that, it’s always just been me and my fans, just going crazy and getting people’s attention,” he added.

Blaqbonez also shared how the pressure from his fan base sometimes affects how he interacts online.

“I even hesitate to post stuff because once I post I just know they’re going to be attacking me, ‘where’s the album? What are you doing? You’re talking about this when the album’s not ready.’ So the way they feel about the album, I want to make sure that when they click play that midnight, they’re as happy as they can be,” he said.

Value music quality over manipulated charts – Blaqbonez

Rapper Emeka Akumefule popularly known as Blaqbonez has called on music fans to prioritise the quality of songs over streaming numbers and chart positions, citing concerns about manipulation in Nigeria’s music industry.

The statement came in response to a fan accusing him of hypocrisy for celebrating his diss track “ACL” reaching number one on Apple Music Nigeria, despite his previous criticisms of chart reliability.

Blaqbonez, who has repeatedly alleged that bots are used to inflate streaming figures and chart rankings in Nigeria, clarified his stance on X.

He emphasised that while chart success is noteworthy, it should not be the sole criterion for judging an artist’s talent, as numbers can be easily manipulated.

The rapper urged fans to use their ears and focus on the quality of music rather than relying on streaming metrics.

“I never talked down on the charts, it’d always be exciting but no artist should be defined by it. Most of the artists I’m currently listening to in Naija are not up on our charts.

“You guys are quick to label someone a failure depending on numbers that we know can easily be manipulated. Use your ears sometimes, if something is good its good, that’s all i’m saying,” he wrote on his X handle.

Blaqbonez’s diss track ‘ACL’ tops Apple Music Nigeria Chart

Rapper Blaqbonez has claimed the top spot on Apple Music Nigeria’s Top Songs chart with his latest diss track, “ACL”.

The song, featured on his album “No Excuses”, has garnered significant attention for its sharp jabs at fellow rapper Odumodublvck, questioning his authenticity and street credibility.

Speaking about the moment, Blaqbonez shared the first call he received after the song hit No. 1 came from Fola, who reached out to celebrate the achievement.

“Fola was the first person to call me to celebrate,” he wrote on X.

Released amidst an escalating feud between the two rappers, “ACL” has surpassed new releases from major artists, including Rema and Ayra Starr, to reach the number one spot.

The rivalry between Blaqbonez and Odumodublvck began with subtle online exchanges and interview remarks, but has since evolved into a heated lyrical battle.

Why I wouldn’t mind an open marriage – Blaqbonez

Rapper Emeka Akumefule popularly known as Blaqbonez has argued that sexual exploration outside marriage is acceptable, as the initial passion in most relationships naturally wanes over time.

Speaking on a recent episode of the In My Opinion podcast, Blaqbonez argued that if a spouse is unavailable due to commitments like work or touring, it’s reasonable for their partner to seek intimacy elsewhere.

He emphasised that marriage extends beyond physical connection, asserting that an extramarital affair wouldn’t allow an outsider to supplant a spouse’s deeper emotional and mental role.

Blaqbonez said: “I don’t mind having an open marriage. Most married couples, you don’t keep having same amount of sex you were having at the beginning. It will reduce.

“If somebody is satisfying her sexually while I’m hustling, touring, I’m not available to be getting intimate with her all the time. That is okay. There’s more to marriage than sex. I don’t mind that you’re sleeping with someone else provided you’re dedicated to me.

“It will be difficult for a random person to just come and match up with what I have put in there. Nobody is just going to get her sexually and also mentally addicted to them. They probably can’t make her laugh the way I do”.

He further proposed that he and his future wife will maintain separate rooms, coming together only for intimacy when mutually desired.

“If I’m even going to get married, I need two rooms. Me and my wife will only meet when we want to have intimacy,” he added.
