    Bloody Civilian not a Z-list artist, Odumodublvck makes U-turn 

    Rapper Odumodublvck has addressed the backlash trailing his recent interview with BET Network, where he was quoted as referring to female artists like Bloody Civilian and Smur Lee as “Z-list artists.”

    During the interview, Odumodublvck spoke on supporting upcoming talents without demanding anything in return.

    “I can help you without taking anything from you, same thing with the girls. I want to be able to give girls deals without having to compromise themselves. 

    “The last time a Nigerian girl was number one on the chart, I think it was probably me. I’ve gone number one with two girls, Smur Lee and Bloody Civilian, and they were not A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H artists – they were Z artists. But yes, they went number one. That’s to show you that girls out there, you can do your thing without compromising,” he said.

    His remark sparked widespread criticism online, with many calling him out for seemingly belittling the mentioned female artists.

    In response, Odumodublvck clarified the statement on X, explaining that his words were exaggerated and not meant to discredit anyone.

    “BLOODY IS NOT A Z LIST ARTIST. NEITHER ARE THE NAMES I CALLED.
    Z WAS JUST AN EXAGGERATION TO AMAZING FEMALE ARTISTS LIKE SMUR LEE, KENKÉ & VALENTINO, WHO ARE MAKING A NAME FOR THEMSELVES. – THE MACHINE.”

    Singer and producer Bloody Civilian has expressed regret over not utilising TikTok at the start of her career.

    She attributed her hesitation to her “too cool” personality, which prevented her from tapping into the platform’s virality earlier.

    “My biggest regret was being too cool for TikTok at the beginning of my career, God punish steeze” she wrote on her X page.

    TikTok has proven to be a powerful tool for music promotion in recent years.

    The platform’s influence can be seen in the success of Nigerian artists like CKay, whose 2019 hit “Love Nwantiti” gained new life after trending on TikTok in 2021.

    Other artists, such as Skales and rising star Chella, have also benefited from the platform’s ability to revive and boost music careers.

    Singer Bloody Civilian has stated that she can’t be won over by N20m. 

    In a sarcastic post, the artist humorously inflated her “price tag,” emphasising her self-worth and the value she places on her identity.

    According to Bloody Civilian, the N20m offer is insufficient, stating that it “doesn’t even cover melanin tax.”

    She went on to jokingly mention additional “taxes,” including “harmattan hyperpigmentation tax” and “heritage preservation tax,” valued at 100 cows to be paid directly to her ancestors.

    Bloody Civilian wrote: “Thinking you can bag a dark skinned beauty like myself with 20m is delulu. Doesn’t even cover melanin tax bitch. + harmattan hyperpigmentation tax. Heritage preservation tax: 100 cows. Paid directly to my ancestors (physically)”.

    Singer Bloody Civilian has retracted her earlier statement which she claimed to be a lesbian in a tweet.

    In a recent update, she revealed that she was participating in a game show when she commented.

    Bloody Civilian tweeted, “I’m not a lesbian. I was on a game show. But still hold your woman tight sha.”

    However, the singer quickly clarified that her father is alive and well, stating that she simply used a photo editing tool to create the image.

    Nigerian singer, songwriter and a record producer, Emoseh Khamofu aka Bloody Civilian has expressed her decision to inspire young women to strive big in 2024.

    The 0207 Def Jam signee recently made this known after she was spotlighted by Shazam as one of the five artists, who have the potential to break out globally in 2024.

    The artist says that next year she’ll focus on building community, “Growing my fanbase, connecting with more creatives, and giving back,” she says. “I want to be able to inspire young women to strive for bigger and better, to not stay within any box.”

    Singer and producer, Emoseh Khamofu, popularly called Bloody Civilian, has revealed how she can’t accept some opportunity that comes her way.

    She took to her X account to disclose how she politely declined to perform at a wedding ceremony.

    The Abuja-based musician shared a tweet of how she had to beg so she could be exempted from performing at the event.

    According to her, her discography was not suitable enough to be played at weddings.

    Rather than perform there, Bloody Civilian chose to pass on the opportunity.

    In her words: “They wanted to book me for the wedding. I had to beg. Like what song???? E get the kind opportunity wey no Dey very opportune.”

    It is time to replace male artists with females – Bloody Civilian

    Singer-songwriter and producer, Emoseh Khamofu aka Bloody Civilian, has said her driving force in the industry is to ensure male artists are overthrown and replaced by females. 

    She stated that her competitors in the industry are not females but her male counterparts.

    The musician said she does not see female colleagues as threats, stressing that it was high time for female artists to replace the men at the top echelon of the Nigerian music industry.

    The ‘I don’t like you’ crooner spoke in a recent interview with Album Talks.

    She said: “I don’t see other female artists as threats. Actually, I’m here to occupy the spaces of the multiple male artists that you guys have put out this year. There are too many. It’s time to replace them with more women.”
