    Actress Biola Bayo condoles Bose Alao over husband’s passing

    ‎Actress Biola Bayo has expressed her condolences to her colleague, Bose Alao, following the death of her footballer husband.

    ‎The former Benin Republic footballer, Razak Omotoyossi, died on August 19, 2025, at age 39

    ‎In an Instagram post, Biola shared a video clip with Bose, captioning it as, “The Lord is strength Abike mi. Be comforted, my lady, God is with you and your family. May his soul rest in perfect peace.”

    Omotoyossi is fondly remembered for his performance during the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, where he netted all four goals in Benin’s 4-1 victory over Togo and finished as joint top scorer of the campaign alongside Samuel Eto’o.

    He also made history as the first player to score for Benin at the Africa Cup of Nations finals.

    At the club level, Omotoyossi had a career spanning Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, with stints in South Africa, Libya, Egypt, Syria, Moldova, Sweden, and France.

    He particularly excelled at Helsingborgs IF in Sweden, where he featured in the UEFA Champions League before moving to French side FC Metz.

    Actress and entrepreneur Bose Alao opened up about her marital struggles and how she ended up as a ‘side chick’ to husband. 

    Alao, in an interview with co-actress Biola Bayo, revealed that she and her husband were separated for three years during which she became his “side chick.” 

    Bose recounted a painful incident where a woman her husband was dating answered his phone and insulted her, calling her an “old taker,” which she said, deeply hurt her, especially given the sacrifices she made for her marriage, including pausing her career. 

    She emphasised the transformative nature of marriage, stating, “You don’t truly know who you are until you get into marriage,” and admitted to extreme measures like sending nude pictures to secure money and designer items during tough times. 

    She said: “You don’t even truly know who you are until you get into marriage. Maybe you’re thinking I am a very calm person, but marriage can bring out something else in you.

    “I will send my nude pictures, he has people who collect such, send my pictures to them, then they will give me a designer bag. I will take it to the person, and my money that night will be N700,000.

    “My husband and I separated for three good years. I became his side chick to my husband. When someone asked me if I wasn’t done with my marriage, I said no.

    “When a woman is done, she is done. I arrested my husband; it wasn’t even me. There was a lady on the street that he was actually dating.

    “There was a time I called, and the lady even called me an old taker. Something which I sacrificed for my marriage”.

    Speaking of Iyabo Ojo, Bose credited her for a career turning point. 

    According to her, she said Iyabo was impressed by Bose’s hosting at a traditional wedding, and booked her for her daughter Priscilla’s wedding, unaware it would happen soon. 

    “Aunty Iyabo saw me on a job. She said she didn’t know I was good. She told me I would anchor the program once Priscilla was set to get married. There was no Juma then. That job changed a lot of things in my home”, she said.

    Nollywood actress Bose Alao has penned a heartfelt message to fellow star Iyabo Ojo as her daughter, Priscilla, prepares to tie the knot with Tanzanian singer Juma Jux.

    In a touching Instagram post, Alao applauded Iyabo’s unwavering dedication and strength as a mother, praising her grace and passion in raising Priscilla.

    She shared photos of the mother-daughter duo and reflected on their journey, expressing deep appreciation for Iyabo’s love, guidance, and wisdom, which she said have also influenced her personally.

    Alao offered prayers for the couple, wishing them a marriage filled with endless blessings, love, success, and lasting joy.

    With affection, Alao referred to Iyabo as “Aduke mii” and celebrated her as a true queen.
