    Brain Jotter pays tribute to ‘Gwo Gwo Gwo ngwo’ singer Ejeagha

    Skit maker Brain Jotter has paid tribute to legendary musician Mike “Gentleman” Ejeagha, who passed away after battling prostate cancer.

    Brain Jotter shared a heartfelt video and message on Instagram, honoring Ejeagha‘s enduring legacy and hit song “Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo,” which gained renewed popularity through a dance challenge.

    The skit maker visited the musician with N2 million cash gift after the challenge dance garnered over 29.1 million views and 30,000 comments on Instagram, and over 19.6 million views on TikTok.

    Captioning the post, Brain Jotter said: “39years ago, he made magic (Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo song). 39years later, we danced to it again. Now, he rests, but his melody lives forever. Rest in peace, legend”.

    Nigerian comedian and content creator, Chukwuebuka Emmanuel Amuzie popularly known as Brain Jotter and the Chief Executive, Lelook Bags, Chief (Mrs.) Chinwe Ezenwa have been announced as some of the honourees of the Life-Impact Awards at the 2024 MMS Hall of Fame.

    According to the co-founder, MMS Hall of Fame, Kingsley Anaroke, the Life-Impact awardees were selected for their exemplary humanitarian exploits which resonates with the MMS brand essence.

    Anaroke further said Brain Jotter’s strings of inspiring life-transforming skits and jokes have redefined the creative industry with an appeal of generosity and humanity, setting a new standard of practice that conforms to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

    “In specifics, his novel comedy show (Outside the Box) ironically, turned out to be a humanitarian platform with the donation of N30 million for a female participant in crutches. We are particularly impressed about this for the female gender unsolicited. The comedian’s creative ingenuity which reinvented Pa Mike Ejeagha’s folklore song – gwo gwon gwo – was also singled out for praise as it placed Pa Ejeagha’s career on the global music radar,” Anaroke asserted.

    Other awardees include Kikelomo Adeniyi, Christopher Zakka Maikalang, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, and Ambassador Michael Okoli.

    Comedian, Brain Jotter, has addressed the controversy surrounding the viral dance challenge he initiated using Mike Ejeagha’s 1983 hit song “Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo”.

    In a heartfelt video, Brain Jotter shared his emotional visit to Ejeagha’s home, where the legendary musician was brought to tears by the tribute.

    Brain Jotter’s response comes amid concerns about potential exploitation and profiteering from Ejeagha’s song.

    The skitmaker emphasised his appreciation for those who voiced concerns, affirming that he understands and shares their desire for Ejeagha to be celebrated and compensated for his decades of musical brilliance.

    In a bid to clear the air, Brain Jotter revealed that he did not profit from the song, stating that “not a single dime was made” from the viral challenge.

    He highlighted the positive outcome of the challenge, which has significantly increased the song’s streams on streaming platforms, with all revenues going directly to Ejeagha.

    Brain Jotter also disclosed that he gave Ejeagha two million naira from his pocket, emphasizing that the gesture was a humanitarian act, not a profit-driven move.

    He said: “For those who think we ripped him off or we’re making money from this whole thing, I understand your concerns and they are very valid. I appreciate the fact that you want him to get value for his hard work, which is very valid, and I want you to understand that you are doing something good

    “At the end of the day, no dime was made from this song by me, nothing like that.

    “The song increased its streams on streaming platforms massively, and there’s no way I can put the song on streaming platforms. So everything, all revenues, are going straight to Mike Ejeagha.

    “The two million I gave him was from my pocket. My hard-earned money is just for humanity and not for profit. This whole thing is not for profit.”

    Comedian Brain Jotter has finally met veteran singer, Mike Ejeagha, behind the new viral song “Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo.”

    The Nation reported that the dance, which originated on TikTok and Instagram, has brought Ejeagha’s 41-year-old classic song back into the spotlight, introducing it to a new generation of music lovers.

    Brain Jotter, who had promised to reward Ejeagha with N2M for reviving his song, fulfilled his promise, and the two met in a joyful encounter.

    Brain Jotter explained that he quit cross-dressing because it “is not sustainable except you are doing it exceptionally well.”

    Brain Jotter said: “I have a friend who is advising me to start making content as a cross-dresser. I’m not interested because I’ve tried it before.

    “There was a time I was creating content with the character Madam Ogadi in a church and the audience were applauding my performances. So it got to my head and it was almost a niche for me. But then, I realised that cross-dressing is not sustainable for me.

    “I just don’t buy the idea because it won’t last. People might enjoy it once or twice, but you’re not a woman. Except you are doing it exceptionally well. You can’t be wearing a woman’s clothes with beards.”

    Popular comedian, Brain Jotter, has alleged a podcaster being unprofessional during a question and answer session.

    In a viral video, Jotter berated the podcaster for asking about his net worth.

    Justifying the question, the podcaster stated that it is a way for people to learn more about Brain Jotter and that his net worth can inspire others.

    Answering the question: “What is your net worth?” He responded to the interviewer by saying that “the question makes no sense.”

    Popular skit maker Chukwuebuka Emmanuel Amuzie aka Brain Jotter has recalled his struggling days before hitting stardom. 

    He recounted his days as an hustling undergraduate at the University of Lagos and how he did menial jobs to survive. 

    The comedian said he sold insecticides and doughnuts for tuition fees and other needs.

    The comic actor said he was also working in a laundry where he earned N15,000.

    Speaking on Hip TV programme, Trending, hosted by reality star KimOprah, Brain Jotter said: “In 2020, my salary was N15,000. In 2021, my salary was N30,000. In 2020, I was working in a laundry. I had just gained admission into the University of Lagos.

    “Apart from working in a laundry, I was also doing other stuff. In my school, I was selling bed bug killers. In my first year, I sold doughnuts in my class. In year two, I sold bedbug killer. And year three, I drove to school.

    “Ever since my video went viral till now, I can’t just stay five days straight without working. I’ve been restless since hitting stardom, probably except I’m not in Lagos. But even if I’m not in Lagos, I’m still thinking of ideas for content.

    ”My dream then was to rent a one-room apartment and become a taxi driver’.”

    Popular skit maker, Chukwuebuka Emmanuel Amuzie aka Brain Jotter, has watered down claims that his colleague, Micheal Charles, aka OGB Recent, is following his comedy template. 

    In the latest episode of the Real Life Talk podcast, the host Ivie Naomi asked Brain Jotter what his opinion was on the speculations that OGB was copying him, and he rebuffed that his colleague wasn’t copying him.

    He admitted that OGB sounds like him in his skits but added that getting inspiration from someone’s work doesn’t necessarily mean copying the person.

    He said: “OGB is not copying me. I know him personally. He is my man to an extent. But I don’t know what you guys mean by copying me. I’ve never actually come out to say he’s copying me. I feel like he has my kind of voice but I don’t really think he’s copying me.”
