VDM: Nigerians have not benefited from Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid

Three of Nigeria’s biggest music exports, Burna Boy, Davido and Wizkid have come under fire from controversial social media critic, VeryDarkMan for flaunting their luxury lifestyles amid economic hardship in the country.

In a viral video, VeryDarkMan questioned the trio’s recent multi-billion Naira car purchases, suggesting they were tone-deaf to the struggles of the average Nigerian.

Yesterday I saw the news that Burna Boy bought a N3.5 billionaire car. The same yesterday Davido bought a car of over 1billion Naira. They have been doing these,” he said.

Burna Boy is a blessing but misunderstood – DJ Obi

Popular disc jockey DJ Obi has praised the Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy, describing him as a “blessing” and a “great person” who is often misunderstood by the public.

Speaking during a recent podcast appearance, DJ Obi said many people only see one side of Burna Boy, often shaped by controversies and his online persona.

He revealed that during personal interactions, he has encountered a genuine and kind version of the artist that is rarely visible to the public.

“Burna enjoys the attention and the drama online,” Obi noted, “but people don’t really get to see who he truly is behind the scenes.”

He said: “Rightfully done, now I’ll just speak my mind. You feel me? So I’ll pass the mic to Burna. I feel like he doesn’t get the opportunity to show himself.

Burna is such a blessing and people misunderstand that. He’s just a man that knows what he wants. You feel me? He’s not going to budge for anybody.

So don’t disrespect him. He’s not going to disrespect you. To everybody that’s close to him in his life, he’s a huge blessing.

“You understand what I’m saying? So I feel like people don’t get to see that. And I feel like sometimes when he gets to talk, people only ask questions that trigger him to show that side of himself, to show that Burna boy that is popping off and all of that. And he enjoys it, to a large extent.

“He enjoys online with the Twitter, with the tweets and all the exes. I don’t know what they call it now, but he enjoys all that stuff. But I feel like he’s one of the best things in my life because when I get that one-on-one time with him and I see him for that many, or I see him for who he really is, it’s like, he’s a great person.

You feel me? But maybe he shouldn’t call it that, because part of having him as a blessing in my life is the fact that not everybody can experience him like that. But I just feel like to some level, because he has never been able to talk like this fully, not necessarily talk about himself as Burna boy and like African giant and the colonizers and all that. He’s actually a great guy”.
