    Consortium to give free training

A consortium, Celloop Limited, Climate Emerge Innovation Development (CEID) Hub, Decibel Labs and ThinkClock, is set to give free training in battery pack design and manufacturing to Nigerians.

The initiative is aimed at building local capacity in clean energy technology, creating employment for youths and women, promoting battery innovation and circular economy practices.

Speaking with reporters in Ibadan, Oyo State, the Chief Technical Officer and Co-founder, Celloop Limited, Tolulope Olukokun, said the programme, targeting over 500 participants, would be implemented across Oyo State, Lagos, Kano, Port Harcourt, Abuja and others.

He said the training would give opportunity to technicians, entrepreneurs and engineers with practical knowledge to thrive in the clean energy economy.

Olukokun says the programme reflects the firm long-term vision of building and equipping local capacity to power Nigeria’s energy transition.

He said the firm was not only bridging energy gap, but also laying groundwork for sustainable, inclusive and energy-resilient future by focusing on youths and women.

He said: “Interested participants are required to enrol in a self-paced online training module, which serves as an introduction to battery technologies, energy storage principles and circular economy fundamentals.

“From the pool of candidates who participate in the online training, a select group will be participating in the in-person.”

Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Environment, Ademola Aderinto, an engineer, reaffirmed the commitment of the governor towards supporting innovations that would address climate change and expand access to clean and affordable energy across the state.
