  • NiMet predicts rains, thunderstorms for Monday

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy skies over the central states of the country on Monday morning with prospects of rains over Abuja, Bauchi, Gombe, Jos, Jalingo, Niger, Yola and Kaduna cities.

    NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Sunday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 27 to 33 and 17 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.

    It added that localised thunderstorms were probable over the region in the afternoon and evening period.

    The agency predicted southern states would experience cloudy conditions over inland cities with intermittent rains over the coastal cities in the morning hours.

    It also predicted prospects of thunderstorm and rains over the region in the afternoon and evening hours with day and night temperatures in the range of 28 to 32 and 20 to 23 degrees Celsius respectively.

    According to NiMet, Northern States will experience thunderstorms with cloudy morning over Maiduguri, Nguru and Potiskum, with day and night temperatures of 30 to 36 and 20 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

    “Later in the day, thunderstorms are expected over Maiduguri, Nguru, and Potiskum axis, while the entire region is likely to be cloudy.

    “There are indications of increased cloudiness with prospects of intermittent rains and thunderstorms over the country within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted.

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy morning conditions over the Central states of the country on Friday with chances of localised thunderstorms over Abuja, Lokoja, Lafia and Markudi.

    NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Thursday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 25 to 35 and 18 to 26 degrees Celsius, respectively.

    It added that thunderstorms activities were expected over places like Jos, Jalingo, Kaduna, Bauchi and Mambilla Plateau later in the day.

    The agency predicted that the Southern states would experience cloudy morning with prospect of localised rains over Lagos and Ijebu-Ode with day and night temperatures of 30 to 34 and 21 to 26 degrees Celsius, respectively.

    It also predicted localised thunderstorms over Akure, Ibadan, Osogbo, Enugu, Awka, Owerri, Benin and the coastal cities during afternoon and evening hours.

    According to NiMet, Northern states will experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions during the forecast period with day and night temperatures in the ranges of 33 to 40 and 24 to 28 degrees Celsius, respectively.

    “Cloudy conditions with prospects of thunderstorms activities are anticipated over most parts of the country within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicts.

    Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy morning conditions over the central states of the country on Wednesday, with chances of localised rain showers over Kaduna and Abuja.

    NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Monday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 25 to 33 and 18 to 25 degrees celsius.

    It added that places like Jos, Abuja, Mambilla plateau and Makurdi axis were expected to have localised thunderstorms later in the day.

    The agency predicted that the southern states would experience increased cloudiness over most parts with chances of rains over Port-Harcourt, Eket and Calabar axis during the morning hours.

    It also predicted prospects of isolated rains/showers over the inland cities like Oshogbo, Ado-ekiti, Enugu and Awka, including the coastal cities like Port-Harcourt, Yenagoa, Warri, and environs during the evening period.

    NiMet further predicted that southern cities would have day and night temperatures in the range of 30 to 34 and 21 to 24 degrees celsius.

    According to NiMet, northern states will experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions over most parts during the forecast period with day and night temperatures in the ranges of 33 to 39 and 21 to 28 degrees celsius.

    “There are chances of isolated thunderstorms over Maiduguri, Potiskum, Yola, Gombe and its environs during the afternoon and evening hours.

    “Increased cloudiness is anticipated over most parts of the country with prospects of isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon within the next 24 hours,” NiMet added.

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted partly cloudy to cloudy weather conditions over the central states of the country on Saturday.

    NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Friday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 33 to 41 and 19 to 29 degrees Celsius respectively.

    The agency predicted that the southern states would experience cloudy morning over the inland and coastal cities with day and night temperatures in the range of 30 to 36 and 22 to 26 degrees Celsius.

    It also predicted localised thunderstorm over Owerri, Akure, Ibadan, Oshogbo, Ikom, Asaba, Ogoja, Calabar, Warri, Eket, Yenegoa and Portharcourt in the afternoon and evening hours.

    According to NiMet, Northern states will experience partly cloudy to sunny conditions throughout the forecast period with day and night temperatures in the ranges of 38 to 42 and 20 to 27 degrees Celsius.

    “Localised thunderstorm over some parts of the southern region of the country are not unlikely and stability over some parts of the northern states in the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted.

    NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Wednesday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 31 to 39 and 18 to 27 degrees Celsius.

    The agency predicted that southern states would experience cloudy morning, with day and night temperatures in the range of 32 to 38 and 22 to 26 degrees Celsius.

    It also predicted chances of localised thunderstorms over Benin, Abeokuta, Warri, Awka, Owerri, Calabar, Porthacourt, Eket and its environs during the afternoon and evening period hours.

    According to NiMet, northern states will experience sunny conditions throughout the period of forecast with day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 38 to 41 and 22 to 25 degrees Celsius.

    “Sunny conditions are expected over the northern cities with partly to cloudy situation over the central states while the inland states.

    “The coastal cities have chances of localised thunderstorms within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted.

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted morning thunderstorms cloudy weather conditions over the Central states of Jos, Mambila plateau and Jalingo on Wednesday.

    NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office on Tuesday in Abuja also predicted thunderstorms over most parts of the region during the afternoon and evening hours.

    It added that the region would have day and night temperatures in the range of 24 degrees Celsius to 33 degrees Celsius and 17 degrees Celsius to 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.

    The agency predicted that the southern states would experience morning cloudy conditions over the inland cities with likelihood of rains in the afternoon and evening.

    It also predicted rains over the coastal areas during the forecast period with day and night temperatures of 29 degrees Celsius to 30 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius to 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.

    According to NiMet, northern states will experience localised thunderstorms over the extreme north of Maiduguri, Damaturu and Yelwa axis in the morning with partly cloudy conditions during afternoon and evening hours.

    “The Northern states will have day and night temperatures of 29 degrees Celsius to 37 degrees Celsius and 18 degrees Celsius to 25 degrees Celsius, respectively.

    “There is a build-up of clouds and this is expected to increase chances of weather activities over most parts of the country in the next 24 hours,’’ the agency predicted.

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted partly cloudy weather conditions over the central states of the country on Wednesday.

    NiMet gave the prediction in its Weather Outlook by the Central Forecast Office on Tuesday in Abuja.

    It added that the central states would have day and night temperatures of 32 to 39 and 16 to 19 degrees Celsius respectively.

    The agency predicted that southern states would experience cloudy morning and partly cloudy condition over the inland cities during the afternoon and evening period.

    It also predicted localised thunderstorms over the coast with day and night temperatures of 34 to 38 and 23 to 27 degrees Celsius respectively.

    According to NiMet, northern states will experience slight dust haze conditions with day and night temperature of 33 to 38 and 15 to 20 degrees Celsius respectively.

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted partly cloudy weather conditions over the central states of the country on Wednesday morning.

    NiMet made the prediction in the Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Tuesday.

    It said that isolated thundery showers would prevail over few areas such as Lokoja, Makurdi, Bida, Ilorin and Abuja during evening and night hours with night time temperatures of 30 to 35 degrees Celsius.

    The agency predicted that the southern states would experience cloudy conditions in the morning with possibility of localised thunderstorms over Calabar and Ikom axis.

    It also predicted prospects of localised thunderstorms over Akure, Oshogbo, Owerri, Enugu, Benin, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Lagos and Eket in the evening and night hours with night time temperatures of 31 to 33 degrees Celsius.

    According to NiMet, northern states will experience sunny skies over Maiduguri, Kano, Gusau, Nguru, Sokoto, Katsina and Gombe with night time temperatures of 35 to 39 degrees Celsius.

    “Clear sky condition is expected to prevail over the Northern cities while the Central cities down to the coastal areas may experience isolated cases of weather activities,’’ NiMet predicted.
