Champion Breweries Plc has projected more than a five-fold increase in revenue and over 10 times growth in profit after tax following acquisition of Bullet, Nigeria’s alcoholic brand.
Speaking at its “Facts Behind the Figures” session at Nigerian Exchange (NGX) in Lagos, Managing Director, Inalegwu Adoga, said the deal will contribute over 70 per cent of Champion’s topline and expand foreign currency earnings in 14 African markets.
In H1 2025, Champion Breweries Plc recorded a 111 per cent surge in revenue and a 692 per cent turnaround in profit after tax, reflecting execution and positioning the business for sustained growth.
“This is a transformative moment for Champion Breweries. Bullet gives us scale, high-margin growth, and international reach. With this acquisition, we are evolving from a strong regional brewer into a multi-market, multi-category growth platform with international relevance,” Adoga said.

Its majority shareholder, enJOYcorp, reinforced the long-term ambition. “Bullet expands Champion’s reach in Africa, diversifies its earnings into foreign currencies, and strengthens its portfolio with trend-driven products,” said David Butler, managing director of enJOYcorp and board member of Champion. “This is a step for transformative African beverage brands that can compete globally.”
To support the acquisition and future expansion, Champion Breweries is launching a N58 billion capital raise programme (N42 billion public offer and N16 billion rights issue). Proceeds will fund the Bullet deal, working capital, market expansion, and sustainability investments.
Funds will also support technology upgrades, such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and returnable packaging solutions, with renewable energy and logistics transformation.
Champion Breweries is complementing its growth with a sustainability roadmap. Plans include transitioning its Uyo brewery to solar power, exploring CNG for its fleet, and reducing plastic waste through packaging innovation.
In the past year, its shares have delivered 302 per cent gain on NGX. The firm has also refreshed its governance with independent directors to strengtheni oversight and align with global best practice.
