    Church installs new district chairman

    The Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Ewutuntun District, has officially installed Special Apostle Prophet Gabriel Aiyenugba as its new District Chairman, following the demise of the former leader.

    Speaking at the installation ceremony, the new chairman described the role as both an honor and a great responsibility.

    “I feel challenged because this is not just a position, it is a kingdom burden. My vision is to strengthen unity, deepen our identity as a church, and move the C&S forward in holiness, prayer, and evangelism,” he said.

    He emphasized the need to overcome divisions within the church and called on members, especially the youth, to embrace their identity with pride.

    “C&S has a great heritage, and we must unite to show the world that we are a strong Christian family. If we stand together, no other church can match our strength,” he added.

    Senior District Secretary, Barista Olabode Akinsanya, noted that the installation signified continuity and divine order.

    “This is not just ceremonial but a reaffirmation of God’s grace in raising leaders for His work. 

    Prophet Aiyenugba’s humility, dedication, and years of service make him the right vessel for this assignment,” he said.

    Chairman of the Installation Committee, Special Apostle Pastor, Micheal Obamo, described the installation as both a “sacred continuity and a prophetic renewal.”

  • Nigeria will be great, says C$S leader

    The Spiritual Father of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide Prophet Samuel Abidoye has said that Nigeria is a great nation and would continue to be great.

    He urged Nigerians to be patient and continue to pray for its success, peace and Unity.

    Prophet Abidoye called on Nigerian politicians to play the game according to the rules and avoid politics of bitterness as the Nation prepares for another election this year.

    Prophet Abidoye in his New Year message condemned the use of thugs by politicians, calling on the political class to avoid turning the youth to political thugs.

    He charged Nigerians to pray that God would give the Nation leaders that would bring its economy back on.

    Prophet Abidoye called on Christians to embark on serious evangelism in the new year and spread the news of salvation to all corners of the World as commanded by our saviour Jesus Christ as the end time is near He noted that the year 2019 is a year of conquering faith.

     

  • Free health care for Lagos residents

    No fewer than 800 people across Lagos State have benefited from the free Family Health Programme of the Rotary International and Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church (C &S) Ayo Ni o, Surulere District Headquarters, which ended at the weekend.

    The beneficiaries, who included Muslims, Christians and members of the church, came from Surulere, Isolo and Ojodu, where the church is based. They received free tests and treatments on malaria, tuberculosis, teeth and eyes. Others were hypertension, hepatitis and HIV.

    In a message at the launch of the programme at the church’s headquarters in Sanya, the church’s General Leader, Senior Apostle/Prophet Sunday Korode said C and S embarked on the programme as part of its corporate social responsibilities (CSR) to its immediate communities.

    “We, therefore, advise you all to take advantage of this programme. The maxim ‘health is wealth’ is true. Please note that many lives have been lost suddenly from brief illnesses as a result of ignorance of the causes of the illness. The illnesses could have been averted if early check had been carried out. Above all, we pray that the divine healer will heal all illnesses and infirmities,’’ he said.

    The programme was held under the auspices of the church’s non-government organisation (NGO) Joy Welfare and Charity. Its Deputy Chairperson Special Mother in Israel Agbeke Ogunsanwo said the Family Health Days were collaboration between the church and Rotary on provision of free health.

    She said it was part of the church’s contributions to the communities, noting that lack of health knowledge could lead to early death. Mrs Ogunsanwo said the three-year-old NGO is concerned with the health of the people, even as she urged the people to avail themselves of its benefits. She further explained that serious medical cases were referred to hospitals nearest to the beneficiaries, where bills were partly funded.

    A beneficiary, Mr Raphael Ojeyemi, who attended the event on the first day, described the programme as ‘’free’’.

    He said: ‘’I came for the test and I had it. I look forward to getting some drugs from the organisers.

    A senior member of the church and The Guardian’s former Finance Director Olu Oke said the health care programme was a yearly event, adding that it is funded by its members.

    Earlier, Rotary West Africa Family Health Programme Director Olugbenga Olowu said overall, Rotary was targeting 1.5 million beneficiaries in the sub-region during the event. He also said 40 main centres have been created for the purpose. Rotary’s 300 clubs, he added, were expected to assist in meeting the target.

    • C & S choir rounds off 40th anniversary

    The grand finale of the celebration of 40th anniversary of the Choir of Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Surulere sub-headquarters, which started about two months ago, ended last week at the church’s premises along Apapa-Oshodi Expressway.

    It was an occasion to celebrate the songs, success story and achievements of the choir in the past 40 years.

    The celebration was spiced with series of performances ranging from songs, drama sketches, children musical and instrumental performances etc.

    The Choirmaster General, Prophet Sunday Korode, said it is the celebration of a family chosen by God himself to minister to hearts and souls in need of the healing touch of the gospel.

    The theme of the celebration, which is Celebration in Canaan, Korode said, “represents an inherent similarity with the Israelites sojourn from a place of lack, slavery and sorrow to a land of freedom, blessings and prosperity.

    “Our celebration today will show how the life of the choir mirrors the life of a Christian, who journeys through life with a God-given mandate.

    ”Our family has grown in leaps and bounds, spanning across many branches and indeed many nations and our ministry, to the glory of God, has reached millions across the globe.”

    The music, according to him, is used for conversion of souls and is a therapy for all human problems.

    “”Since 1978 when we started producing our albums, the entire public has actually bought into our style of music.

    ”We sing about problems in the world; we sing therapeutic music that would heal, deliver and also get people to imbibe the spirit of God. And our music has tremendously aided in converting souls to Christ.”

  • Cleric urges Nigeria to keep hope alive

    The spiritual leader of Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Dr Gabriel Fakeye, has urged Nigerians not to lose faith in the country in spite of the challenges facing it.

    He stated this at the 22nd Inter-denominational Nine Lessons and Xmas Carol Service held at the church premises, Surulere, Lagos.

    Fakeye said: “I want us to know that two forces are at war, one is going to overcome the other. Satan will not and cannot overcome God. What is happening in Nigeria today shows that the more we pray the more the forces of darkness try to overwhelm us. And by the special grace of God Nigerians will win this battle against Satan.”

    He stressed that the country would make process no matter the challenges currently dogging its feet. According to the cleric, Nigerians should rekindle hope in the country and pray for divine help for those who are charged with the responsibilities of providing good governance.

    The carol which attracted prominent citizens from all walks of life, had people of different religious background at the event.

    Speaking, the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Prince Segun Adesegun noted that it would take some maturity to handle the heavy burden currently confronting government, urged Nigerians to pray for divine intervention from above.

    He said: “It is a bit difficult for me to say that this is the way we are heading because it is obvious that things are difficult and it requires some maturity to handle. The issues of Boko Haram and other challenges have become a burden on government but I believe that if we get our act today we can get it right.”

    Adesegun urged leaders to live a God fearing life by doing what the people wanted, this he further remarked would bring orderliness to the activities of authorities. “We need to live a God fearing life, provide for the people their needs; we should not think evil of others and do what is good in the sight of God.”

    Also present at the event were Lt. General Oladipo Diya (rtd) and Senator Ganiyu Soloman. It was a total package of good musical artistry by the church choir with members dancing and praising God for keeping them alive. Guests and faithful were served given souvenirs and delicious take-away.
