    Chima Udoye, Accolade TMP: New kids on the music block

    Chima Udoye and Accolade TMP have emerged as the new kids on the music block after coming out tops from two separate music talent TV shows.

    Udoye made his fame over the weekend when he shone like bright stars and won the ninth season of the Nigerian Idol while Accolade TMP was the highlight of the second season of the Naija Star Search.

    For Accolade TMP, it was more accolade for the rising star, who triumphed to win the Naija Star Search season two and a cash prize of N20 million.

    In the same vein, Udoye’s onstage charisma and vocal dexterity distinguished him amongst the last three contestants of the talent show to win the ninth edition of Nigerian Idol with a cash prize of N30 million, a brand-new SUV, and a one-year premium subscription to DStv Explora Plus.

    While Udoye won the hearts of fans after winning the hearts of the Nigerian Idol judges that include 9ice, Omawumi, and Ric Hassani, Accolade TMP remained a darling of the judges of NSS that include Cobhams Asuquo, Sasha P, and Vector.

    Udoye and Accolade TMP are products of intense voice training, coaching and competition which spanned across several weeks.

    The journey to stardom for both two new kids on the block have been a rollercoaster of emotions, showcasing the raw talent and unwavering determination of other finalists of the two music talent shows.

    While the grand finale of Naija Star Search aired on StarTimes Nollywood Plus on Saturday, July 13, the grand finale of the Nigerian Idol season nine aired on AfricaMagic channels on DStv on Sunday, July 14, delivering thrilling climax to two different seasons dedicated to discovering Nigeria’s next Afrobeats and music sensations.

    Both music talent TV shows have again proven to be two platforms for discovering and nurturing the next generation of Afrobeats and music superstars.
