    Madu returns to Nasarawa

Giwa FC midfielder Christian Madu is confident of returning to Nasarawa United to claim a result in today’s Glo Premier League game.

Madu played for Nasarawa United last season but moved to Jos where he teamed up with Giwa FC for the current league season.

The midfielder is returning to Lafia for the first time since he left the Solid Miners at the end of last term with renewed hope of earning a result to help the Elephants in their bid to stay in the premier division in their first-ever season.

“I must be honest I still have respect for my former club, Nasarawa United. At present, they are doing very well from their position on the league table. I had some interesting moments with the club while I was there but as a professional you have to move on. Now I’m with Giwa FC and I’ve got a job to do.

“I’m going out there with my team to get a result. It is going to be a tough match and I’m expecting that. I’m sure my teammates are expecting same.

“This season my main objective is to help Giwa FC stay in the Glo Premier League. Remember this is the first season of the club in this division. But just as my objectives with the club are modest I won’t rule out surprises like winning a continental ticket,” Madu told supersport.com ahead of Giwa FC’s short trip to Lafia on Monday.

This season, Madu has appeared in all of the Elephants’ 12 league matches in which he has played 1,080 minutes without being substituted or suspended.

Madu targets win against Lobi Stars

    By Taofeek Babalola

Giwa FC midfielder,  Christian Madu, has  sounded that he and his colleagues will not leave anything to chance when his side play host to third placed Lobi Stars at the Rwang Pam Stadium on Wednesday.
Madu, popularly called Patrick Viera, said the only way to prove to the world that their promotion to the Premier League was no fluke is to go all out for the three points at stake.
“We don’t want to relent on our oars and with God on our side, we are gunning for nothing but the three points at stake against Lobi Stars,” Madu told SportingLife.
Madu, who began his professional career with Giwa FC, said he thanked God and the club for giving him the opportunity to show the football world what he can do.
“I went to many clubs for trials but was not picked because I had no money to give and push my case; I just give God the glory for this club that hire the best without sentiments. How I wish there are many privately own club sides in Nigeria because I believe there are still hundreds of good players out there wasting away just because they don’t have money or to play for all these big clubs in Nigeria.
“I am surprised when clubs call me to come play for them with big money on offer, but where were they before Giwa FC gave me the opportunity? I have made up my mind to give all my best to this club now and I want to win trophies with the club before thinking to call it quit with the club that have put me in the limelight.”
