Citibank Nigeria Limited (Citi) recently partnered with Junior Achievement Nigeria for Citi’s Global Community Day (GCD).

Since 2006, Citi’s Global Community Day is an annual tradition of coming together across the world through volunteerism and building lasting connections with each other and the communities we serve.

As a global company, volunteerism is a keyway that Citi and community partners like Junior Achievement Nigeria, deliver on a shared mission to enable economic growth and progress at the local level.

During Global Community Day, Citi volunteers, alumni, family, and friends across our footprint take large and small actions that have a positive community impact.

The volunteering events, connections, and stories that are part of Global Community Day each year are a celebration of the positive impact Citi has in the communities it serves.

This year volunteers in Nigeria leveraged their time, skills, and talent to impact the lives of over 1800 beneficiaries across Nigeria.

Junior Achievement Nigeria helped to design the Financial Literacy curriculum that motivated secondary school students to gain financial confidence by participating in interactive sessions.

Ireti Samuel-Ogbu, CEO of Citibank Nigeria Limited facilitated one of the financial literacy sessions.

According to Samuel-Ogbu, “Citi is celebrating 40 years in Nigeria this year and is proud to promote initiatives like Global Community Day which gives us an opportunity to make a tangible difference to the communities we serve.

“We are delighted to partner with Junior Achievement Nigeria to amplify our community impact and demonstrate our commitment to responsible corporate citizenship.
