  • Cloudy weather, rains, thunderstorms to prevail today

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy weather conditions with chances of thunderstorms and moderate rainfall activities over some parts of the country today.

    NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office (CFO) yesterday predicted prospects of thunderstorms over the central cities like Abuja, Mambila Plateau, Bida, Lokoja, and Bauchi in the morning.

    It said scattered thunderstorms were anticipated over Yola, Taraba, Bauchi, FCT and Gombe during afternoon and evening hours with day and night temperatures of 27 to 34 and 15 to 27 degrees Celsius.

    The agency predicted that Northern States would experience partly cloudy conditions with thunderstorms over Kebbi and its environs during the morning hours.

    It also predicted likelihood of thundery activities over Potiskum, Dutse, Kano, Gusau and Maiduguri in the afternoon with day and night temperatures of 34 to 35 and 21 to 23 degrees Celsius respectively.

    According to NiMet, Southern States will experience cloudy conditions over the coastal cities with prospects of thunderstorms over Abeokuta, Ibadan, Oyo, Ekiti as well as Anambra, Enugu, Ogoja, Abakaliki and Enugu axis in the morning hours.

    “There are prospects of thunderstorms and rains in the Afternoon and evening hours over Lagos, Benin, Asaba, Yenagoa, Abakaliki and Akure with day and night temperatures of 30 to 33 and 21 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

    “There are stronger prospects of weather activities over the country in the afternoon and evening period,” NiMet predicted.

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted hazy and cloudy morning over the Central States of the country today with increased cloudiness in the afternoon and evening hours.

    NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja yesterday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 32 to 39 and 23 to 27 degrees Celsius.

    It added that there were slim chances of thunderstorm over parts of Niger, Plateau, Kwara, Kogi, Benue and Nassarawa states.

    The agency predicted that the southern states would experience partly cloudy to cloudy morning over most parts of inland and cloudy morning over coastal cities with chances of isolated thunderstorms over Calabar, Yenegoa, Eket, Uyo and Port Harcourt.

    It also predicted scattered thunderstorms over most parts of the region later in the day with day and night temperatures in the range of 34 to 37 and 21 to 27 degrees Celsius respectively.

    According to NiMet, Northern States will experience sunny and hazy conditions with dust haze over Borno, Gombe and Bauchi throughout the forecast period with day and night temperatures of 35 to 39 and 20 to 28 degrees Celsius respectively.

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted dust haze weather conditions over the central States of the county today.

    NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja yesterday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 28 to 40 and 12 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

    It also predicted visibility range of two to five kilometres and localised visibility of less than or equal to 1000 metres over the central cities during the forecast period.

    The agency predicted that the southern States would experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions over coastal cities in the morning and most parts of the inland cities during the forecast period.

    It also predicted localised thunderstorms over coastal part of Ondo state, Ijebu-ode, Yenagoa, Port-Harcourt, Calabar and Eket with day and night temperatures of 31 to 38 and 20 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

    According to NiMet, Northern States will experience dust haze conditions throughout the forecast period with visibility range of two to five kilometres and localised visibility of less than or equal to 1000 metres.

    “Northern states are expected to have day and night temperatures in the range of 31 to 34 and 15 to 17 degrees Celsius respectively during the forecast period.

    “Fresh dust has been raised over the source region in Republic of Chad with dust already in suspension.”

     

    “Dust haze conditions are expected over most part of the northern cities, while the inland cities are anticipated to experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions.

    “Slim chances of localised thunderstorms are probable over some parts of the coastal cities within the next 24 hours,’’ NiMet predicted.

    Expect moderate dust haze, cloudy weather – NiMet

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted moderate dust haze over the central States of the country today.

    NiMet’s weather outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja yesterday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 27 to 36 and 11 to 23 degrees Celsius respectively.

    The agency predicted that the southern states would experience cloudy to partly cloudy over the coast in the morning hours with slim chances of isolated thunderstorm over Eket, Calabar and Port-Harcourt in the afternoon and evening hours.

    It also predicted hazy conditions over the inland cities throughout the day with day and night temperatures in the range of 30 to 35 and 19 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively

    According to NiMet, northern states will experience moderate dust haze with localised horizontal visibility to less than or equal to 2,000m over some places throughout the forecast period.

    “The region is expected to have day and night temperatures in the range of 31 to 36 degrees Celsius and 12 to 19 degrees Celsius respectively.

    “No Fresh dust has been raised over Chad republic, moderate dust haze expected to prevail throughout the forecast period from Northern state down to the Central cities.

    “Part of the inland of the southern states are expected to be Sunny and Hazy condition with slim chances of localized thunderstorms within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted.
