The Friends of Seyi Tinubu (FOST) has congratulated Com. Umar Farouk Lawal on his appointment as a Board Member of the Nigerian Education Loans Fund (NELFUND).
The group described Lawal’s appointment as a recognition of his unwavering commitment to youth empowerment, student advocacy, and educational development in Nigeria.
A statement by FOST President, Com. Adejorin Tai Manuel noted that Lawal over the years has demonstrated exemplary leadership, dedication, and a passion for ensuring that students have access to opportunities that will shape their future.
According to the statement, Lawal’s inclusion in NELFUND’s leadership is a positive step towards strengthening the implementation of Nigeria’s student loan initiative.
“We urge Comrade Umar Farouk Lawal to bring his wealth of experience and dedication to bear in ensuring that NELFUND fulfills its core mandate effectively.
“His role is pivotal in ensuring that the student loan scheme is accessible, transparent, and beneficial to all eligible students. He must work tirelessly to ensure that those who are yet to benefit from the initiative are included, advocating for policies that will expand the reach of this critical fund to the most deserving students across the country.

“As a representative of Nigerian students on the NELFUND Board, we charge him to remain steadfast in his responsibility to prioritize the interests of students at all times.
