Why I stopped ‘Mama Felicia’ character in my skits, by Comedian Josh2Funny

Popular comedian Josh2Funny revealed the real reason he stopped portraying his female character, Mama Felicia.

In a recent interview on the Honest Bunch podcast, Josh shared that he faced unwanted advances from fans, leading to embarrassing situations.

He emphasised that his intention was purely comedic, unlike other comedians who play female characters.

According to him, he received inappropriate messages, including one from a man who confessed his liking for him.

Josh humorously responded, saying he would pray for the man to become blind in two weeks.

He said after such experiences, he decided to drop the Mama Felicia character and introduced Brother Zacchaeus, wearing male clothes while maintaining the same accent, to avoid further embarrassment and focus on making people laugh.

He stated in Pidgin: “You see, the difference between me and some other people wey dey do female character, my own was straight comedy. Anybody wey go see me like me no really get sense, no really know where e dey go because I made sure it was stupid.

“Mama Felicia is a stupid character, it was straight stupid. I had a lot of advances. E get one guy, the guy came to my WhatsApp and was like I really like you, I went straight to him and I said bro I’m going to pray and you’re going to be blind in two weeks, the guy begin to beg me. Why you go see me, like me?

“E join why I leave the character. It was Mama Felicia I turned Brother Zacchaeus. Instead of wearing a female dress, I had to drop it and start putting on male clothes, using the same accent. It was becoming embarrassing for me because I mean I just want to make people laugh.”

Josh2Funny rose to fame with his viral skit #DontLeaveMe and recently performed on America’s Got Talent, showcasing his “fastest reader in the world” character.
