    Rangers crown Enugu champions

Ranger International survived early scare to beat Ingas FC 4-3 on penalty after 1-1 at the regulation time to lift Enugu State Federation Cup final yesterday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

Tochukwu shocked Enugu fans when he netted the first goal for Ingas in the 18th minute to prove the doubters wrong that their final appearance was not a fluke. The Flying Antelopes kept it late in the first half before Sunday Udeadha equalized for Rangers in the 43rd minute to end the first half 1-1.

The second half failed to produce any goal despite efforts from both sides which was curious to seal the victory in a regulation time to avoid penalty kick.

One of the stakeholders at the stadium, the former Enugu State Commissioner, Ray Nnaji commended Ingas fighting spirit, tipping them for a success at the national federation cup play-off.

“It was a good game from both sides but I have to commend Ingas for reaching the final. They show more determination and commitment. I can see talented and good players in the team. I believe that they will do well at the national level of the competition,” Nnaji said.
