“Sometimes, the people you show up for will not show up for you. Sometimes, your hard efforts will go unnoticed. Sometimes, that apology you are waiting for will not come,” she said.

“If you understand that nobody owes you anything, you make your life better. Somebody shows you love, care, attention, in whatever way of form, it’s not your entitlement.

“They choose to care, they don’t have to. You are not owed anything, my darling. Not success, not opportunities. You work for it, and when it comes, if it comes, you must honour it. So when people don’t treat you in a certain way, instead of you being mad, observe, learn and keep moving.

“Your peace is your power. Don’t give it away because someone couldn’t meet you “where you are”; they might not even know “where you are.”

“Learn how not to be offended. It will help you a great deal. That’s all I wanted to say today, my darling. Have a beautiful rest of the week.”

Damilola Adegbite reverts to maiden name

Indeed, there is no art to find the mind’s construction in the face like Shakespeare would say. Outward beauty is like a flower which captivates the man or woman with its silvery dance by the moonlight. Once the day breaks, it lies cold, fruitless and forgotten. Without two hearts beating as one, beauty is but a temporary fix for a leaking roof, as Nollywood actress Damilola Adegbite and her estranged husband, Chris Attoh, must have found out.

When the going was good, Damilola and handsome Ghanaian actor, Chris, were a hot item. They graced the covers of several magazine issues with hot, racy photos as their transnational romance flourished like well-watered green shoots. Chris proposed to Damilola on an Atlantic boat cruise in Manhattan in August 2014 and the duo tied the nuptial knot at a glittering ceremony on Valentine’s Day in 2015.

However, for some months, there were rumours of a strained relationship between the two. While their fans fasted and prayed like devout Christians on their behalf, Dami and Chris kept mum on the issue until a recent interview where the handsome dude confirmed their divorce.

Although the reason for their separation is not known, Dami has since reverted to her maiden name, at least on the internet. She has also wiped off all images and references to her ex-husband from her social media accounts.
