    Rangers player declared missing

    The management of Rangers International FC, Enugu, has declared its striker, Daniel Etor, missing.

    The club’s Director of Media and Public Relations, Foster Chime, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.

    Chime said the player missed the club’s training without permission.

    He said: “Daniel Etor’s whereabouts now is unknown and efforts to locate or communicate with him had been futile.

    “The player, according to the club’s coaches, alighted from the official club bus on their way back from Ilorin, where they played league match with ABS FC of Ilorin the previous day and eloped without trace.”

    Chime said the Rangers management on Thursday informed the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) about the player’s absence from the team camp.

    Angry fan slaps Rangers ‘bad signing’ Daniel Etor

    An angry fan slapped Daniel Etor at the weekend after describing him as a bad signing for champions Enugu Rangers.
    Rangers were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Niger Tornadoes and the fan, widely known as ‘Baba Agu’, stepped onto the pitch after the game to slap Etor, who joined Rangers from Enyimba this season.
    ‘Baba Agu’ said he assaulted Etor because he kept drawing back Rangers attack.
    “He is a bad signing, a player who is below par,” blasted the fan, who has been known to terrorise officials at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
    He was not arrested for the assault and it is not known whether the player, who has represented Nigeria at U-20 and Olympic team levels, will press charges against him with the police. He also called for the sack of Rangers coach Imama Amapakabo after a slow start to the season for the champions.

    Daniel Etor hopes to win trophies with new club Rangers

    Former Enyimba forward Daniel Etor has said he hopes to win more trophies with new club Enugu Rangers after he reunited with coach Imama Amapakabo.

    “I want to win trophies with Rangers. I have already played under coach Imama at Enyimba, so I know he is a hard working coach and I can cope with his philosophy and style of football,”said Etor.

    The daring left winger, who has played for Nigeria at U-20 and Olympic team, said he hopes to establish himself at the star-studded Nigeria champions.

    “I like competition and I believe I will play regularly for my new club because I also did so at Enyimba, who were also full of stars,” he said.

    Enyimba star Daniel Etor proposes to girlfriend on pitch

    Enyimba’s forward, Daniel Etor dramatically proposed to his girlfriend, Simi Silas at the centre of the pitch of the Area 3 Sports Complex in Abuja at the end of a match in memory of his late father, Monday.

    With his teammates from Enyimba – Chinedu Udoji, Emmanuel Anyanwu, Razak Aliyu, Moses Ocheje, Kelly Kester – watching on, Etor knelt down before asking  the pretty model and geography graduate of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria for her hand in marriage.

    “I said yes,” said Etor’s Adamawa State-born girlfriend.

    “I love him. I am so happy, I don’t even know what to say.

    “We became friends four years ago and I knew this day will come but I did not know it will be here. It was shocking!”

    Etor praised his fiancée.“She has been my support from day one, my backbone” he praised.

    “She understands me and prays for me.I proposed on the day I remembered the first year of my father’s death. It was something I needed to do.”

  • Etor stages memorial match for late father

    Enyimba forward Daniel Etor will stage a memorial match in Abuja today to mark the first year anniversary of the death of his father.

    Etor’s Enyimba teammates including captain Chinedu Udoji, Razak Aliyu, Emmanuel Anyanwu, Kelly Kester, Stephen Adah and Moses Ocheje will feature in the match against Wakko Academy at the Area 3 Sports Complex.

    “I will mark the first year anniversary of the passing of my father with a match today against my youth academy,” he disclosed.
