23-year-old Nigerian entrepreneur David Onilude has been awarded the prestigious Diana Award. The award, established in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, recognises outstanding contributions to entrepreneurship by young people aged 9-25.
“The Diana Award, established in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, aims to recognise and celebrate exceptional young entrepreneurs who embody her spirit of compassion, kindness, and entrepreneurship. As we mark the 25th anniversary of this award, we honor the legacy of The Princess and inspire a new generation of young leaders to make a positive impact in their communities,” the Kensington Palace stated in a release.
Reacting, Onilude, a graduate of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology with a degree in Computer Science, said: “I’m thrilled to receive this recognition. Growing up in a rural community like Badagry, I was driven to succeed despite the limited opportunities available.”
As the founder of Tech Now Global, a non-profit organisation committed to improving digital inclusion and quality education among young people in rural Nigeria, David is passionate about harnessing the power of technology to drive positive change.

“Technology has the potential to bridge the gap between rural and urban communities. I want to expose young people to opportunities in technology, train them, and empower them to become active participants in the digital economy.”
As the founder of Tech Now Global, a non-profit organisation committed to improving digital inclusion and quality education among young people in rural Nigeria, David is passionate about harnessing the power of technology to drive positive change.
Through innovative programmess such as bootcamps, community outreach, and tailored training, Tech Now Global, which now boasts of 10 core changemakers, has empowered hundreds of youths with critical 21st-century digital skills, significantly enhancing their career prospects; and impacted over 32 communities and 102 schools across Africa,.
David is also the co-founder of Beere Software, where he applies his expertise in software development to create innovative solutions that help businesses and individuals harness the power of technology.
His impactful work has earned him numerous accolades, including sponsorship by the Lagos State Government, to complete a leadership programme and certification as a leadership fellow from the Management Institute of Finland. He is also an Ashoka Young Changemaker, a Future Awards Africa nominee, and a Teen Vogue 21 Under 21 Honoree.
