  • Station Officer, others decorated with new ranks

    The Station Officer of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCIID), Panti-Yaba, Mr. Eni Ebri and some officers of the department were yesterday decorated with new ranks.

    Ebri, popularly called S/O General, was among the newly-promoted officers of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

    He was decorated with the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) by Mrs. Yetunde Longe, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, who heads the SCIID and Yaba Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Chairman Mr. Kayode Omiyale.

    Commenting of Ebri’s new rank, one of his friends, Paul Okuweh, described him as a gentleman, who is diligent.

    He said: “DSP Ebri is one officer that doesn’t joke with his job. His new rank is an evidence of his diligence and reward for hard work.”

  • 51 newly promoted officers decorated

    The Katsina state Police Command has decorated 51 newly promoted police officers.

    They comprise Chief Superintendents, Superintendents, Deputy Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents and Acting Assistant Superintendents of Police respectively.

    Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Wakili, challenged the newly promoted officers to join hands in tackling insecurity, criminality and maintenance of law and order in the state.

    While lauding the Nigeria Police Service Commission (NPSC) and Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris for promoting the officers, he noted it was the first of its kind in the history of Katsina state command.

    19 Superintendents of Police (SPs) were promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) and 11 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) elevated to Superintendents of Police (SPs).

    18 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) were promoted to Deputy Superintendents of police (DSPs) and three Inspectors promoted to ASPs.

  • 51 policemen decorated in Katsina

    The Katsina State Police Command yesterday decorated 51 newly promoted policemen, comprising Chief Superintendents, Superintendents, Deputy Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents and Acting Assistant Superintendents.

    Commissioner of Police Muhammad Wakili urged the decorated officers to support and intensify the fight against crime.

    He said “As we know that security situation in the country is a serious challenge that we must attend to the best of our ability, with the fear of God. So I urge you to work harder.”

    Wakili promised that the command would take necessary measures to restore security in the state.

    Of the 51 policemen, 19 are Superintendents of Police (SPs) promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs); 11 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) elevated to Superintendents of Police (SPs); 18 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) promoted to Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) and three Inspectors promoted to ASPs.

    The event was attended by heads of security agencies in the state and parastatals.

    Imo Police spokesperson, others decorated

    Some officers of the Imo State Police Command have been decorated with their new ranks by the Commissioner of Police, Abdulmajid Ali. They include the Police Public Relations Officer, Joy Elemoko and 16 others

    Speaking during the ceremony at the Command Headquarters in Owerri, the state capital, Ali charged the promoted officers to work harder to justify the confidence reposed in them by the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar and the Police Service Commission.

    According to Ali, the promotion was in line with the vision of the IG to ensure that officers are promoted as and when due to encourage and motivate them to put in their best in the service.

    He charged them to work harder to combat crime, adding that, “let me congratulate you on behalf of the IG for your new ranks. I charge you to go back to your various duty posts and motivate the men under you to do more because you will be held responsible for any lapses in your respective areas of command”.

    Speaking on behalf of the promoted officers, the Command spokesman, who was promoted to the rank of a Superintendent of Police (SP), assured the Police authority that the promotion will spur the officers to do more, “we are grateful to the IGP and the PSC for the confidence reposed in us. To me it is a call for higher dedication to duty. I dedicate the rank to the IGP, my colleagues for their cooperation and team spirit and to my family for their ceaseless prayers”.

    In his remarks, the Commander of the 18 Squadron of the Police Mobile Force, who was also decorated with a new rank, Samuel Jephtah, assured that the promoted officers will put in their best to get further promotions, “the only way to say thank you for the promotion is to work harder. What we got today is an appreciation for our diligent service and we will work even harder to justify it”.
