  • ‘Give us our elected candidate in Akure North’

    Agitations rose on Tuesday among stakeholders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akure North local government.

    They urged its state leadership  to correct the alleged injustice in the constituency.

    Besides, they demanded the immediate declaration of the authentic winner of its primaries for the State Assembly.

    The stakeholders in a statement signed by party’s local government chairman, Joshua Eleti, former party chairman,Nathaniel Babalola, former member, Ondo  Assembly,Chief Isaac Adeyemi and the immediate past  Chairman of  the local government, Dele Babalola decried the imposition of Abiodun Faleye instead of Dele Ologun who reportedly won the primary election conducted in the area.

    Other aggrieved leaders that kicked against the alleged imposition include Dayo Agbetu, Sola Ojo, Dr.  Gbenga Ademoyewa, Chief Buowo, Leye Akinola from Igbatoro and O. Abass from Oba Ile wards.

    They claimed that the imposition was not in the best interest of the people saying” the imposed candidate does not have the wherewithal to represent the people of Akure North State Constituency.

    The APC members emphasized that the candidature of Dele Ologun massively supported by all APC supporters and people in Akure North constituency as a grassroots mobiliser.

    The party supporters urged the party leadership to reconsider its decision and do the needful in the interest of the people, the party and the 2019 general elections.

    According to the statement”  if this is not corrected, opposition parties may take advantage of the action to erroneously win the constituency”.

    The stakeholders expressed belief in the National and State leadership of the ruling party led by Adams Oshiomhole and Ade Adetimehin to address the problem.

    A Philanthropist and Stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Otunba Dele Ologun over the weekend empowered over hundred indigent widows with cash gift to support their businesses.

    The Politician who presented the money in cash to the recipients at his residence in Ita-Ogbolu country home, Akure North Local Government area of the State, tasked the beneficiaries to lucratively utilize the gift towards profit maximization.

    In his words, the IT Expert said “although the money is small but i believe that if you use it appropriately, it will ameliorate your sufferings and if you can manage it well, it means you can manage a bigger amount.”

    The Founder of the Dele Ologun Foundation who had earlier in the year distributed free JAMB forms to Indigent Students in his community vowed to continue to do more for his people.

    Speaking at the event, the Caretaker Chairman of Akure North Local Government, Prince Segun Oluyede urged the beneficiaries to invest the money as it should be, saying that the donor would only be motivated to do more if they could make him proud through proper investment.

    Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, a widow, Mrs Joke Oluwafemi thanked Ologun and members of his foundation for founding it worthy to give back to the people, promising to invest the money given to them lucratively.

    The widows got N20, 000 each with a mandate from the foundation to invest the cash in small scale businesses.

    Ologun also used the occasion to receive about 500 members of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

    The leader of the Defectors, Ajenifuja Abiola said him and others decided to join APC because of the benevolence and generosity of Ologun.

    The Executive Secretary of the Foundation, Mr. Blessing Akinlosotu informed the gathering of the plans of the foundation to do more for the people, stating that many programmes are on the way for the people of the Community and the State in general.

    APC Chieftain Celebrates Akeredolu’s Birthday at Orphanage Home

    The Founder of Dele Ologun Foundation and a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Mr. Dele Ologun over the weekend donated food stuff and cash to orphans and less privileged at the Ondo State Children’s Home along Oba Ile, Akure, the state capital in commemoration of the 61st and 64th birthday of the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN and his wife, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu respectively.
    Ologun said his passion for ameliorating the suffering of the masses and the uncommon passion of Akeredolu towards the less privileged in the State prompted him to donate to the orphanage home.
    Speaking to newsmen at the orphanage home, Ologun said “I am glad to celebrate the birthday of my mentor in line with his directive that those who wishes to celebrate with him on his birthday should go to the orphanage and less privileged home across the state to add more value to them.”
    Akeredolu who clocked 61 on July 20th had in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Segun Ajiboye said well-wishers who wish to celebrate his birthday with him should do so by celebrating with the poorest of the poor in their respective communities and at orphanage homes across the state.
    Materials donated by Ologun at the orphanage home are; one bag of rice, five cartoons of noodles, five cartons of pampers and two big packets of detergent soap.
    Others materials donated were two cartons of caparison juice, one park of tissue paper and sum of #50,000.
    The elated children at the orphanage home thanked Ologun for the gesture and prayed for more years of grace and sound health for the Governor.
    On the entourage of Ologun to the orphanage home was a Supervisory Councillor in Akure North Local Government Area of the state, Hon. Temitope Aluko, the state coordinator of Progressive Youth league, Comrade Blessing Akinlosotu, among others.
    This news medium reports that Dele Ologun became famous during the 2016 governorship campaign in the state when he branded about 10,000 loafs of bread with Akeredolu’s picture and APC logo which he used to mobilize voters within Akure metropolis towards the success of his party at the poll.

    The youth wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, under the aegis of Progressive Youth League(PYL)yesterday lauded the procurement of 100 JAMB  forms to applicants in Akure North local government.
    The coordinator of the group, Adebowale Akinlosotu who  praised a chieftain of the party,Dele Ologun for the gesture  said the youths are particularly proud of the politician for projecting the party’s image and representing the youths well.

    The group hailed the APC stalwart for complementing the effort of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, stressing that his  action has again demonstrated the readiness of APC led- administration to bring succor to all and sundry.

    It said “we have observed with keen interest the  passion of Ologun in development of youths and his
    commitment to projecting the APC in good image. “As youth group,  we are excited and proud to identify  with this party man,who himself is a youth”.

    PYL also commended him for keeping promises with party loyalists who stood with governor Akeredolu during the primary elections that ushered him into office.

    He said “We surely believe that this gesture is in line with the Akeredolu’s policy to give qualitative and free education to the good people of Ondo State.

    “We observe that you are really working in the direction of Akeredolu and we believe this kind of program  just needed to be sustained for many other less privileged to gain from it.

    “It is on record that the governor has a big plan for  the Youths and Students of Ondo State and we believe that  the Foundation is just supporting the good policy of this  new government”

    The group however urged other leaders from across the 18  Local Government of the state to key in into this  initiative for the betterment of Ondo State Youth.
