Nottingham Forest are ready to listen to offers for their Nigerian attacker Emmanuel Dennis, with deluge of interest from clubs across Europe asking about his services.

According to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth, three Championship sides, alongside clubs from Spain’s La Liga and Italy’s Serie A, are keen to secure Dennis’ signature before the transfer window closes.

“Interest in Nottingham Forest striker Emmanuel Dennis is growing. 3 Championship clubs, one from La Liga and one from Serie A are all keen to sign the player. Forest are open to both loan and permanent offers for the former Watford man, who has not been in the club’s plan. Dennis has entered the final 18 months of his contract at the City Ground, making this a crucial period for his future.

The 26-year-old has fallen down the pecking order under manager Nuno Espirito Santo, with the club failing to register him for the Premier League this season and have failed to use him in other competitions. His lack of playing time has prompted speculation about a potential move away to revive his career.

Dennis joined Nottingham Forest in August 2022 from Watford in a deal worth around £15 million. However, he has failed to replicate the form that saw him score 10 goals in the Premier League during his time with Watford.

Ismael: why I refused Dennis’ return to Watford

Watford boss Valerian Ismael said that he turned down the chance to sign Nottingham Forest attacker Emmanuel Dennis in the summer.

Dennis was among the players who left the City Ground in the transfer window amid the Reds’ squad reshuffle. He joined Turkish outfit Istanbul Basaksehir on a season-long loan, little more than 12 months after he had put pen to paper for Forest.

The 25-year-old had joined Steve Cooper’s side from the Hornets in August 2022. And according to Ismael, he could have ended up back at Vicarage Road.

The Watford manager says Dennis’ name was put forward as a potential option as the club looked to strengthen up front. But he rejected the opportunity to recruit the Reds man. “His name came on my desk, but I said no. Simple as that,” Ismael told the Watford Observer.

Dennis has made four league appearances for Basaksehir so far. Two of those have come as part of the starting XI. He is yet to find the back of the net.

He had largely been restricted to a substitutes’ role for Forest last term as he struggled to impress, with 16 of his 25 appearances in the Garibaldi coming from off the bench. He found the net twice, against Aston Villa and Newcastle United.

The Nigerian remains under contract at the City Ground. The length of his deal was not disclosed when he signed but was reported to be four years.

With the Turkish transfer window set to close this Friday, Adana Demirspor will hope that they have acted quickly enough to beat off competition from others.

Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Tai are reportedly in advanced negotiations with Nottingham Forest striker Emmanuel Dennis over a potential summer move.

Al-Tai had a decent start to the season, winning two of their opening five games of the season to sit 11th on the league table.

The club have been desperate for a new number 9 and were on the verge of signing former Barcelona striker Paco Alcácer, but the deal collapsed in the final stages.

According to Saudi publication Arriyadiyah, Al-Tai’s negotiations with Dennis have reached an advanced stage as the transfer window closes in Saudi Arabia today, September 7.

Meanwhile, the report also added that Al-Tai have agreed personal terms with Salernitana’s striker Diego Valencia, but would only sign the Chilean if the deal for Dennis falls through.

Dennis, 25, joined Nottingham Forest in August 2022 from Watford for almost €15m, scoring twice in 25 games last season, but is yet to feature for the club in this campaign.
