Excitement is rippling through the circle of high society as the day approaches for the traditional engagement and wedding ceremony of the daughter of Lagos big boy, Dewunmi Ogunsanya. The reason for the frenzy is not far-fetched: the top lawyer and chairman of MultiChoice Nigeria is one man who knows how to host a high-octane party.

Dewunmi Ogunsanya not in a hurry

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of good fortune must be in want of a wife,” reads the first sentence of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. The bevy of girls currently jostling for the attention of MultiChoice Chairman Dewunmi Ogunsanya certainly seem to be in agreement with the way they have been flocking around the amiable lawyer, each one hoping to be the lucky beneficiary of his love. The attention has got to a stage where the normally outgoing DSTV top shot is beginning to hold back from social gatherings in order to avoid the ceaseless entreaties from the determined daughters of Eve.

Unlike Mr Darcy in Austen’s masterpiece, who dismissed the attention of ladies out of pride, the head honcho of Ogunsanya and Ogunsanya law chambers has a much deeper reason for his reticence in fanning the flames of fresh love. Since he lost his wife Moji to cancer, he has been unable to emerge fully from the depths of desolation. She was the foundation of his life and success. Little wonder he is finding it hard not to fall apart after her sad departure.

Although time, as they say, heals all wounds, it has not mended Dewunmi’s heartache sufficiently to make him consider remarriage for now.

Even though he is said to be very close to a young, beautiful lady who has also been kind to him in many ways; for now, he is content with focusing on his business and playing his role as a father to the children Moji had for him.

  • Dewunmi Ogunsanya won’t rush into another marriage

It is said that a successful man who finds himself no wife gets overwhelmed by the affection and attention thrown at him by the opposite sex, so much so that he could begin to dread social gatherings. The boss of MultiChoice, Dewunmi Ogunsanya, would seem to have found himself in such a fix.

Sometime ago, Dewunmi lost his beloved wife, Moji, to cancer and has since remained inconsolable. The late Moji was widely seen as the pillar that held his life in place. Hence, not a few people expected that Dewunmi would crumble after his wife’s demise. But the healing balm of time has given him the power to survive the ugly experience and he is gradually learning to live without the woman he built his world around.

Although he still misses Moji dearly, he is bouncing back into full vitality and learning to groove again. Bur as he is re-launching his social life, he seems to be getting overwhelmed by ladies who are eager to fill Moji’s slot. It is said that Dewunmi is taking the proposals in his stride and biding his time. Close sources say he is not in a hurry to remarry, particularly because the death of his wife is still fresh in his memory.

However, Dewunmi is said to be getting close to a young beautiful lady who has also been kind to him in many ways, but he would not rush into marriage just yet as he contents himself with playing the role of a dependable father to his children.
