  • Diabetes, prostate enlargement, STDs, and infertility : Diabetes and high blood pressure

Before I commence this write up, let me mention that for the next one month from the 21st of July to 21st of August we will be offering reasonable discount on all our products….it will really be ‘ a big discount’. The essence of the discount is to mark well over 10yrs of our successful venture in natural medicine practice and to appreciates our numerous agents, patients and customers who had supported and patronized us.

We have developed herbal remedies for high blood pressure, diabetes, and stroke related conditions. As a matter of fact, a patient visited my office a month ago with elevated blood sugar of over 400mg/dl. He was assisted by his two brothers while he held his clutches into my office. He had been on insulin but without any progress in his general health nor his blood sugar that continued to fluctuate between 300 mg/dl to 400 mg/dl. He had wounds that are not healing. He was on our remedies for just one week and noticed that his blood sugar crashed down to 90mg/dl. For the past weeks he had remained stable, certain wounds on his body are also healing. He now tells his friends and associates about the efficacy of our diabetic remedies.

Prostate enlargement, urinary problems and our testimonies

At this point, let me share testimonies derived from our fertility, and prostate treatment as follows; The prostate and urinary testimonies will come first; During one of my trips to Ghana where I was invited to be honored with an entrepreneurial award in recognition of my efforts in advancing natural medicine practice particularly in Nigeria and Africa in general, I had interaction with colleagues in Ghana who are practictitioners of natural medicine who volunteered to market our herbal remedy for prostate, a remedy that has recently being certified by Nafdac. The name of the herbal drugs is PROSTALYN. Latest report reaching me is that Prostalyn Herbal is highly accepted and reliable among my colleague in the treatment of Prostate problems in certain part of Africa, yet Prostalyn is produced in Nigeria. Prostalyn regulates urination, relieves difficult urination and excess urination. Prostalyn also restores normal urinary flow and avoids sudden urinary blockage in men as well as normalize PSA (prostate specific antigen). Prostalyn helps to prevent prostate cancer and guarantees normal urinary flow. According to The US Prostate cancer society, prostate cases are high. Normal PSA IS 0-4ugl. Any prostate depending on age, that is above normal range could easly lead to cancer if not monitored . Apart from his PSA We have independent medical diagnoses laboratory that helps in conducting series of tests including prostate scan and PSA before our treatment. Symptoms of prostate problems are difficult and excess urination, urinary urgency, frequent urination and inability to completely empty the bladder. Risky stages of any prostate problems are sudden urinary blockage, elevated PSA and prostate cancer.

In order to reach out to others, he had volunteered to market and serve as an agent in Owerri for our NAFDAC registered herbal remedies called Batulin for infections and restoration of strong immune system, as well as market our remedies for prostate enlargement, male and female infertility, ulcer, STDs and infections, HBP. You can call me for his phone numbers if you need our remedies in Owerri. Also note, that for those in Lagos we can carry out all forms of fertility test in our independent medical laboratory managed by licenced health officers, before our treatment.

  • Researchers develop diabetes drug to replace insulin injections

Researchers develop diabetes drug to replace insulin injections

Diabetes sufferers might soon be able to take pills to treat their condition, rather than inject themselves with insulin, following ground-breaking research from Australian scientists.

The research led by the University of Adelaide is testing safer and more effective drugs to treat type-II diabetes which will reduce side-effects and insulin injections.

Two studies published in the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry and BBA-General Subjection on Friday found that two new drugs could be more efficient in reducing blood sugar.

Successfully developing new treatments for type-II diabetes would be considered a major health coup, with insulin injections often proving unsafe and ineffective.

The two new drugs work by targeting a protein receptor known as PPARgamma found in fat tissue throughout the body to lower blood sugar by increasing sensitivity to insulin and changing the metabolism of fat and sugar.
The first study, undertaken in partnership with The Scripps Research Institute in the U.S., described 14 versions of a drug which worked by partially activating PPARgamma, an outcome which resulted in fewer side effects than full activation.
The second study, in collaboration with South Australia’s Flinders University, used X-ray crystallography to demonstrate how a drug, rivoglitazone, binds with the PPARgamma receptor.
Rivoglitazone fully activates PPARgamma but produced fewer side effects than other drugs that activate the same way.

Type-II diabetes is characterised by a resistance to insulin and subsequent high blood sugar, usually resulting from lifestyle factors like poor diet and lack of exercise.

John Bruning from the University’s School of Biological Sciences and Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing said developing safer and more efficient drugs is essential.

“Prevalence of type two diabetes in Australia alone has more than tripled since 1990, with an estimated cost of six billion AU dollars (4.5 billion U.S. dollars) a year,” he said in a media release on Friday.

Bruning said injecting insulin is problematic, and it is “highly desirable’’ for people to come off the injections as it’s difficult to get the levels right.

  • Study opens door to new treatments for diabetes – Researchers

A New study that was released by some researchers in the University of Otago and Aucklandon on Tuesday said that Women who took a naturally occurring probiotic were less likely to develop diabetes during pregnancy.

Probiotics are live bacteria and yeasts that are good for your health, especially your digestive system.

The joint study by the universities of Otago and Auckland involved the probiotic, Lactobacillus rhamnosus HN001, which was used to make fermented milk products such as yoghurt.

The report said that it was given in capsule form to 194 women from early pregnancy, while 200 women received a placebo.

Gestational diabetes was assessed at 24 to 30 weeks gestation.

“Using the current New Zealand definition for gestational diabetes, 6.5 per cent of the women had diabetes in the placebo group, versus 2.1 per cent in the probiotic group.

“This is a 68 per cent reduction.

“We found that the protective effects were stronger among older women and were stronger among women who had previously had gestational diabetes,” said study leader Professor Julian Crane, of the University of Otago.

Fasting blood glucose was also significantly lower among women taking the probiotic compared to placebo.

“This is an exciting result suggesting that this probiotic may be interacting with the normal gut bacteria in some way to reduce glucose levels in pregnancy,” he said.

The researchers previously showed that the same probiotic had effects on the immune system and reduced eczema by 50 per cent in infancy.

Crane said that the next steps would be to investigate whether the probiotic could reduce the increasingly common risk in the population of developing diabetes.

  • In ‘Whose Meal Ticket’, diabetes messed with the wrong chic

NOLLYWOOD producer, Grace Edwin-Okon has come of age in the production of ‘edutainment’ flicks, through which she mirrors the society’s different strokes.

In a new one titled ‘Whose Meal Ticket’, her vision matches that of the Executive Producer, Kehinde Omoru, a nurse, who is enamored of educating people on health tips.

In this new one which talks about diabetes and active charcoal, the producers casts some of the film industry’s best such as Akin Lewis, Ngozi Nwosu, Uti Nwachukwu, Shaffi Bello, Lisa Omorodion, Tana Adelana, Femi Durojaiye and Iyke Nnabuife in what she said is her second film for Omoru.

“The Executive Producer, Kehinde Omoru asked me to work on the story because she has this idea of making films that have ‘edutainment’ appeal, such that people can watch it and learn a thing or two. And being a nurse, her own area of education is health tips. As a matter of fact, this is the second film I’m making for Kehinde; the first one is called ‘Deeply Cut’, which is about Hepatitis B,” said Grace.

Edwin-Okon described ‘Whose Meal Ticket’ as a film “that can be termed as drama with slight use of comedy, even though a lot of people would say when they saw it, they loved it and had a good time laughing because of the characters that we have in the film. It’s an intriguing story. It also has some health tips with regards to diabetes and it also talks a little bit about active charcoal.

“I strongly believe that audiences will love the film. They will sure come out of the cinema laughing, and I really look forward to getting amazing feedbacks from the Nigerian and African audience.” She said.

In ‘Whose Meal Ticket’, Lisa Philips (Lisa Omorodion) is hell bent on regaining her family’s lost glory, encouraged by her mother, Mrs. Philips (Ngozi Nwosu), with the advice of devious wiles and strategies of using what she has to get what she wants.

This is just as Mrs. Disu (Shaffy Bello), wife of the rich and influential Lagos socialite Chief Disu (Akin Lewis) battles diabetes. Testing her blood sugar level daily is painful, effortful and potentially damaging. However, in ‘Whose Meal Ticket’, she does it with ease that dispels the phobia for diabetes, proving that you can suffer symptoms like frequent thirst, frequent urination, slow healing wounds, mood swings and fatigue associated with diabetes and still grasp life with zest.

Life would have been ‘hunky-dory’ with the Disus until Lisa’s push into them opens the curtain to social issues like neglect, jealousy, conspiracy, connivances and duplicity that often plagues the rich.

On the other hand, Chief Dish, a father of two has been grooming his more promising son – Taiwo (Iyke Nnabuife) – to take over the helms of his fast growing conglomerate while  Kehinde ( Uti Nwachukwu) – the ‘black sheep’ of the family couldn’t care a hoot whether Taiwo is ‘making waves’ within the family business.

According to the producer, the movie is scheduled for a glamorous premiere on April 15, at Genesis Cinemas – Palms Lekki, and will begin showing in cinemas across the country from April 21, 2017.

    The information below was published by WHO a few months ago. I am sure it will be of help to you. So many death caused by Diabetes is due to ignorance or lack of knowledge on it. These spurred the need to highlight to you the following facts sourced from WHO (World Health Organization) documentation;
    www.superhealthpro.com.ng

There is an emerging epidemic of diabetes that can be traced back to rapid increases in overweight, obesity and physical inactivity. Total deaths from diabetes are projected to rise by more than 50% in the next 10 years. Most notably, they are projected to increase by over 80% in upper- middle income countries.

The early signs of diabetes are not always obvious. They may develop slowly over time, making them hard to identify. Many are asymptomatic. Because they can worsen over a period of years, type 2 diabetes may remain undiagnosed longer than other, more obvious conditions.

    diabetes(1)

Here are 7 early signs to watch out for:

    1. Frequent Urination

Also known as polyuria, frequent and/or excessive urination is a sign that your blood sugar is high enough to start to spill into the urine. Because your kidneys can’t keep up with the high glucose levels, they allow some of that sugar to go into your urine, where it draws additional water, making you have to urinate often
    www.superhealthpro.com.ng

    2. Extreme Thirst

Extreme thirst is one of the first noticeable symptoms of diabetes for some. It’s tied to high blood sugar levels, which cause thirst, and is exacerbated by frequent urination. Often, drinking won’t satisfy the thirst.

    3. Increased Hunger

Intense hunger, or polyphagia, is also an early warning sign of diabetes. Your body uses the sugar in your blood to feed your cells. When the cells can’t absorb the sugar (because of a lack of insulin), your body looks for more sources of fuel, causing persistent hunger.

    4. Nerve Pain or Numbness

You might experience tingling or numbness in your hands, fingers, feet, and toes. This is a sign of diabetic neuropathy, or nerve damage. You are most likely to experience this after several years of living with diabetes.

    5. Slow Healing Wounds

There are several reasons why a wound will heal more slowly if you have diabetes. Poor circulation, the effects of high blood sugar on blood vessels, and immunodeficiency are just a few. If you experience frequent infections or wounds that are slow to heal, it could be an early symptom.

    6. Blurred Vision

Blurred vision occurs early in unmanaged diabetes. It can be a sign of high blood sugar levels, which cause fluid to shift into the lens of the eye. This usually resolves when blood sugar levels normalize.

    7. Dark Skin Patches

Dark discoloration in the folds of your skin is called acanthosis, nigricans and is another early warning sign of type 2 diabetes. They are most common in the armpits, neck, and groin regions, according to the Mayo Clinic.

  • Eating mushrooms can avert diseases, says Nutritionist

Eating mushrooms can avert diseases, says Nutritionist

An Ibadan-based nutritionist, Ms Dayo Olawunmi, said eating mushrooms regularly could help to lower risk of contracting diseases, including diabetes, cancer and obesity.

Olawunmi told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Ibadan that mushrooms were rich in antioxidants and many disease fighting nutrients like vitamin D known to inhibit the growth of cancer cells.

“Studies have shown that mushrooms are naturally low in sodium, fat, cholesterol and calories. In addition to providing basic nutrition, they help prevent chronic diseases due to the presence of antioxidants.”

She said that mushrooms were also rich in potassium and sodium which worked together to regulate blood pressure to promote a healthy heart.

“Consuming mushrooms, which are rich in potassium and low in sodium helps to lower blood pressure and decrease the risk of high blood pressure and cardiovascular diseases.

“Mushrooms also contain choline, an important nutrient that helps with sleep, muscle movement, learning and memory,” she said.

Olawunmi, however, cautioned that not all mushrooms were edible and that eating some could lead to serious illness and even death.

“It is best to consume mushrooms that have been cultivated under appropriate conditions; not all the varieties of the plant are edible.

“Eating wild mushrooms that are toxic to humans can cause severe illness, and sometimes, even death,” she stated.

Edible mushrooms, like the cauliflower mushrooms, are the fleshy and edible fruit bodies of several species of macro fungi (fungi which bear fruiting structures that are large enough to be seen with the naked eye).

They can appear either below ground or above ground where they may be picked by hand.

  • NGOs tackle diabetes at farmers’ market

NGOs tackle diabetes at farmers’ market

Emcorp Healthcare Limited has partnered Diabetes Help Enlightenment Organisation (DHEO), a non-governmental organisation (NGO), to give free diabetes screening to farmers in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The outreach was held to commemorate the World Diabetes Day.

The event featured awareness and a rally at the Farmers’ Market in Maitama Abuja. After the rally, the traders received free sugar level test and got professional advice on their medical condition. About 150 traders benefited from the screening, which included Body Mass Index (BMI) and blood pressure.

Mr Emmanuel Egbroko, a corp member, said the campaign was necessary to draw attention to change in food composition because of urbanisation. He said people in urban areas were liable to suffer diabetes because of the kind of food they eat. To effectively battle the disease, Egbroko said early detection of the signs remained key to managing it.

He said: “Diabetes is a silent killer, which can go unnoticed until complications arise. Screening is very important, especially in urban areas, where regular checkups are not people’s habit. We are using this programme to increase awareness about diabetes. This is why we embark on free screening and education.”

Egboroko praised DHEO Director, Mrs Aisha Ali for collaborating with Emcorp to organise the event. He hailed volunteers, including Justin Nwadiaru, Alexander Evroh, Obazuaye Charles, Azino Usuemerai and Mine Nefertiti, who worked with the partners to ensure a hitch-free outreach.

A beneficiary, Ms Margaret Paul, praised the organisers, saying:“I have been rescued from death by the organisers of the outreach. I was educated on how I could adjust my eating habits, so I don’t create unnecessary complications for myself. This is a good programme and I hope it is sustained, because it would help many people to properly manage their health.”

  • Diabetes can only be managed, says clinician

Diabetic patients can live a near-normal life because the disease is manageable, Head of Diabetes Centre, of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Dr. Anthonia Ogbera, has said.

She spoke at the presentation of Nova Max Plus – a product which measures glucose and ketone. Ketone is any of the class of organic chemical compounds that are formed by the oxidation of secondary alcohols.

Speaking on the theme: “Unmasking diabetes mellitus,” Dr. Ogbera, a consultant endocrinologist, said: “People with diabetes have high blood glucose, also called high blood sugar or hyperglycemia. Diabetes develops when the body does not make enough insulin or is not able to use insulin effectively. Insulin is a hormone made by beta cells in the pancreas. This is a non-modifiable risk factor. And it can be hereditary or due to ageing. The modifiable risk factors are presence of hypertension that is not controlled, abnormal lipid levels, lack of exercise/sedentary lifestyle, obesity- BMI over 25/30, lifestyle that consists of consuming sugary things, smoking, drinking alcohol, urbanisation, and poverty. Gestational diabetes and age are non- modifiable causal factors of diabetes as well.”

The clinician said there was a rise in the number of people contracting diabetes blaming it on lack of exercise, poor diet and bad lifestyles.

“Before now, other professionals and I in  Endocrinology know that Type 11 diabetes is common among adults. But recent paradigm shifts reveal that children and teens are being confirmed with Type 11 diabetes. The reasons are not far-fetched. It is diet and lifestyle. This set of patients are not being fed with nutritious foods. And they watch or play TV or play games. They do not move around to exercise or play, unlike yesteryears,” she said.

Dr. Ogbera said it was frightening that some of them have ketoacidosis, noting that ketones are an alternative fuel used by the body. ‘’They are produced when blood glucose levels are high. Large accumulations of ketones in the blood can cause diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), a dangerous condition that requires immediate medical attention. DKA is the most common cause of death in children with diabetes.

“For a person with diabetes, ketones are often the result of low insulin conditions. Without insulin, glucose cannot be used as a fuel by the body. To compensate for low glucose availability as a fuel, the body converts fat into ketones for use as an alternative fuel. During prolonged periods of low insulin conditions, large amounts of Ketones can accumulate in the blood and spill into urine,” Dr. Ogbera said.

She said DKA symptoms included prolonged thirst, urination, dry mouth, improper breathing, fruity breath, nausea/vomiting, stomach pain, loss of appetite, dry/flushed skin, fatigue which could lead to dehydration, coma or death of the patient.

‘’Before now, we used to screen for ketone, using urine samples but with this new product, glucose results can be obtained in five seconds and ketone results in 10 seconds using blood.

She said the drug has an edge over others in the market as a testing metre because it relies on blood sample. ‘’This is because ketones can show up in the blood far earlier than in urine, so blood ketone testing can give an earlier warning of impending DKA. Urine may have been in the bladder for hours and not reflect current blood ketone levels and a patient may not be able to provide a urine sample due to dehydration,” Dr. Ogbera said.

Union Diagnostic and Clinical Services PLC MD/CEO Dr. Olusola Akinniyi said: “The presence of high levels of ketones in the bloodstream is a common complication of diabetes, which if left untreated, can lead to ketoacidosis. The body does this when it doesn’t have enough insulin to use glucose, the body’s normal source of energy. When ketones build up in the blood, they make it more acidic. They are a warning sign that your diabetes is out of control or that you are getting sick. High levels of ketones can poison the body. Positive ketones are not a problem when blood glucose levels are within range and you are trying to lose weight. It is a problem if blood glucose levels are high and left untreated. Untreated high blood glucose with positive ketones can lead to a life-threatening condition called diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA).

‘’According to the American Diabetes Association, blood ketone testing should be performed on sick days and whenever glucose exceeds 250 mg/dl; at the first sign of illness, such as flu, cold, a sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, or malaise; during stress, when blood glucose is greater than 250 mg/dl and planning on exercising.

‘’For insulin pump users, whenever blood glucose is elevated for more than a couple of hours or the patient is ill or nauseous/vomiting. Pregnant women, each morning before breakfast and whenever blood glucose is elevated,” Akinniyi said.

“Natural Solution To Help You Overcome Diabetes”

    www.healthinessforreal.com.ng/prost.htm
Diabetes rates are rising, in fact it is now considered an (epidemic)
    in the medical community.

The International Diabetes Federation reports that:
=> 1.5 Million Nigerians are confirmed Diabetic.
=> Diabetes is the 7th leading cause of death.

=> Diabetes increases heart attack risk and 68% of diabetes related
death certificates report heart related problems.

=> 75% of adults with diabetes will develop high blood pressure.

=> Diabetes is the leading cause of blindness, kidney failure and
    nervous system disorders.

=> Diabetes costs $174 billion annually.

Diabetes is a well-established problem and a multi-billion dollar industry.

There are various causes of diabetes, which include Genetic Factor,
Stress, Toxins, Adrenals and Excess Sugar

But How Do We Solve It?

All of the above contributing factors don’t usually happen by themselves.

Since the body functions as a whole, a problem in one area will
usually correlate to problems in others. A combination of the factors
above can be the catalyst for a full blown case of diabetes (or a lot
    of other diseases).

While researchers often look at a single variable when trying to
discover a cure for a disease, often the best approach is one that
addresses the body as a whole.

As with all diseases, the best cure is good prevention, but certain
measures can help reverse disease once it has occurred. Click
    www.healthinessforreal.com.ng/prost.htm

Unfortunately, most people are not given the benefit of this approach.
When diagnosed with diabetes, most people are told to avoid sugar
(good step, not the solution). If the problem is bad enough, they are
told to take medication to give the body insulin.

Insulin is also dangerous if it is left circulating the the blood.
Somehow, treating too much circulating glucose and insulin with more
insulin doesn’t seem like the right approach…

It isn’t just keeping blood sugar levels down through insulin control
that helps diabetes, but fixing the actual problem causing the
    diabetes.

Addressing just one aspect of the problem (blood sugar or insulin)
ignores all the other factors like poor diet, toxins, stress, gut
    problems, immune issues etc.

Instead, this single focuses approach can contribute to the problem,
making insulin resistance worse and eventually leading to insulin
dependent diabetes when the pancreas shuts down completely. Click

7 Steps To Help Your Body Recover From Diabetes.

    1. Get Insulin Problems Under Control– Diabetes is triggered by
insulin resistance and regaining proper insulin sensitivity can help
    reverse the process.

    2. Get Your Fats in Good Balance– Overabundance of Omega-6 fats in the
diet is a contributing factor in diabetes.

    3. Fix your Gut– Not the beer gut, your intestines.

    4. Exercise– Even the mainstream medical community recognizes the
advantage of exercise, as it increases the muscles ability to use
insulin and over time can help fix insulin resistance.

    5. Lose Excess Weight– Obesity and Diabetes often go hand in hand,
losing weight can help mitigate diabetes, and also lowers your risk of
    getting it to begin with.

    6. Reduce Stress–  Stress raises cortisol and can lead to hormone
imbalance, insulin issues and increases risk for certain types of
    disease.

    7. Supplement– Supplements can help your body heal from diabetes,
especially while your body works to gain proper insulin reactions
    again.
