    Firm to train MDAs

    The Digital Bridge Institute, (DBI) would be involved in the training of civil servants and digitalisation of all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of the Federal Government, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, has said.

    According to Mrs Walson-Jack, the collaboration with DBI would be in pursuit of the priority areas of President Bola Tinubu administration to transform the civil service and ensure the digitalisation of its services in line with global standards.

    The Head of Service disclosed this in her office in Abuja during a meeting with the President/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DBI, Mr. David Daser.

    In a statement signed by the Head of Public Affairs of the DBI, Mr Akin Ogunlade, the meeting provided a platform to reinforce the strategic relationship between the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation and the DBI.

    Ogundele said the meeting would further explore areas of synergy, particularly in the advancement of digital literacy and the upskilling of public servants across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) of government.

    He qouted Mrs. Walson-Jack as emphasising the Federal Government’s priority to digitize all Ministries, Departments and Agencies, noting that the vision was very essential and dear to the present administration, led by President Bola Tinubu.

    According to her, “the vision is to enhance efficiency, transparency, and innovation in public service delivery, and this office will leave no stone untuned to ensure that our civil servants are trained in the area of ICT and all the MDAs are effectively digitized, in line with the global standards.”

    The HOSF lauded DBI’s efforts in driving ICT training and capacity development; and expressed readiness to work more closely with the institute to realize this national objective.

    The DBI President/CEO thanked the HOSF and reaffirmed the Institute’s dedication to supporting her office through structured digital training programs, partnerships, and the deployment of tailored ICT solutions aimed at equipping the civil service with 21st-century ICT and Digital skills.

    Mr. Daser described DBI as institution that understands both the private and public sector landscapes with the capacity to provide top-notch services for them.

    He said the institute now has campuses in strategically located places across all the six geo-political zones of the country in Abuja, Asaba, Enugu, Kano, Lagos and Yola.

    DBI, firm unveils $200m bond to train 100,000 Nigerian youths

    The Digital Bridge Institute – the training arm of the Nigerian Communications Commission, has partnered with Small Business Training Solutions to train 100,000 Nigerian youth in Business Processing Operations aimed at positioning Nigeria as a global leader in outsourcing jobs.

    The collaboration was announced during a stakeholder engagement on partnership for capacity building and job opportunities in Abuja on Monday.

    According to SBTS, this initiative seeks to position Nigeria as a global leader in outsourcing jobs.

    It also announced a $200m budget as a Human Capital Bond aimed at generating 100,000 new digital jobs across Nigeria over the next five years.

    The SBTS Chief Executive Officer, Evelyn Lewis said the program is designed to provide prospective beneficiaries with comprehensive training and empowerment opportunities, equipping them with the necessary skills for future employment in the digital sector.

    Lewis said that the initiative goes beyond skills development, saying that it focuses on economic empowerment, digital inclusion, and enhancing Africa’s competitiveness in the global economy.

    The chief executive of SBTS said: “Our target is to raise $200 million for the training of Nigerian youth. In today’s digital economy, the ability to adapt and equip people with relevant skills determines not only individual success but also national progress.”

    Lewis highlighted the challenges of accessing structured and scalable training programs in Africa, noting that the partnership aims to bridge this gap.

    “We are leveraging our combined expertise to create an innovative, scalable, and sustainable model that provides globally competitive training programs,” Lewis.

    The SBTS chief executive officer added that the programs are not only theoretical but also hands-on and industry-driven.

    According to Lewis, the Institute aligns learning outcomes with employer needs to ensure graduates are job-ready and create real job opportunities through internships, outsourcing engagements, and entrepreneurship support.

    President/CEO of DBI, David Daser stated that the partnership aligned with the institute’s mandate to bridge the digital divide in Nigeria.

    He said: “Over the years, we have trained thousands of professionals, students, and entrepreneurs. We remain committed to advancing digital literacy as a catalyst for economic growth.

    “This partnership will provide high-quality, practical training that empowers young Nigerians to build sustainable careers, launch businesses, and become job creators rather than job seekers.”

    According to him, the training program will focus on entrepreneurship, digital marketing, software development, cybersecurity, and business management.

    “Additionally, the initiative will offer mentorship, access to funding opportunities, and business incubation support to ensure a smooth transition from training to employment or entrepreneurship,” he added.

    Head of Media Relations, Akin Ogunlade, described the partnership as a testament to a shared vision of fostering sustainable development through education, training, and skills acquisition.

    Ogunlade urged stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector leaders, and the media, to support and promote digital skills training as a key driver of national development.

    Tinubu appoints new leaderships for Digital Bridge Institute, NIGCOMSAT

    President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of new leaderships for the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) and Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT).

    Mr. Daser David, an accomplished academic and industry expert, takes on the role of President/Chief Executive Officer of DBI.

    His extensive knowledge of digital technologies and educational leadership positions him to drive the institute’s strategic vision.

    Tinubu also appointed Mr. Reuben Oshomah as Executive Director, Marketing, NIGCOMSAT, and Mrs. Adama Kure as Executive Director, Finance and Administration, NIGCOMSAT.

    Oshomah brings extensive experience in communications satellite marketing and strategic business development, while Kure boasts a strong record in financial management and corporate governance.

    A statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, said President Tinubu expects the newly appointed officers to leverage their expertise to propel these institutions forward, driving growth and innovation in Nigeria’s digital and communications sectors.

    “President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mr. Daser David as the new President/Chief Executive Officer of the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI).

    “Mr. David is an academic and industry expert with a deep understanding of digital technologies and educational leadership.

    “The President has also approved the appointment of Mr. Reuben Oshomah as Executive Director, Marketing, Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT) and Mrs. Adama Kure, Executive Director, Finance and Administration, (NIGCOMSAT).

    “Mr. Oshomah has extensive experience in communications satellite marketing and strategic business development, while Mrs. Kure is a seasoned finance professional with a strong record in financial management and corporate governance.

    “The President expects the newly appointed officers to bring their wealth of experience and expertise to bear in driving the strategic vision for these institutions,” the statement reads
