    • By Onyewuchi Nwachukwu

Nigerian winger  Okoh  Emmanuel Divine has admitted that he has been well received in Poland ever since he joined MKS Miedz Legnica.

The 19-year-old who could operate from both left and right wings said he was sceptical initially when he left the shores of Nigeria for Europe because of some of stories of racial abuse meted out to players from Africa.

But all that fear was erased as the youngster has since settled down to his new environment.

“No i haven’t suffered any form of racial abuse here” he began in an interview

“To my delight, I think the people of Poland are nice and very supportive. Since I came here they have shown me love and I have no other option than to reciprocate their gesture by giving my best during training sessions and matches .”

Most footballers’ ultimate ambition is to play for the national team and Divine stressed that he’s not exception since he’s already within the age bracket to play for the Flying Eagles.

“Yes it’s a big dream for me to represent my country in any national competition. I know that I have to work hard to attract the attention of national team coaches and I will continue to put in best for my club to achieve that target”

“I’m still adapting to the weather here in Poland and the environment, I’m still getting used to their food and culture. I’m still learning how to speak Polish gradually”

The immediate aspiration for him and his teammates is to gain promotion to the next league which he’s sure can be achieved at the end of the season.

“My teammates  and I are trying to secure promotion to the next league and I believe we can do it, ” he added..

  • Divine art of statesmanship

Some sage said the greatest art is writing well but Hardball will differ a little here. The greatest art must be statesmanship; if only for the fact that it subsumes every other human endeavour. No, that is not quite right – it actually circumscribes all. Statesmanship at its very apogee is the highest calling of man; a state of grace.

After God of course, are statesmen. Even God differs to statesmen. The Holy Bible is all about God and statesmen at play. The Old Testament is almost purely a universe of statesmen – Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, Caleb, Samuel, David, Solomon, Princes, Chiefs of Households, Captains of hundreds and thousands, high priests, name them.

Men lifted among their peers and in their generations for specific purposes. Presidents, governors, chairmen, generals, editors, managers of multitude of men and resources – these are one in million men and women, chosen for higher purposes.

But sorry to say that not many quite understand their state or station; just as Saul fluffed his high estate and Samson poured his special oil in the bosom of a femme fatale, so it is today. Very few still really are able to grapple its true essence.

Statesmanship is a heavy responsibility which Hardball wants to wager is almost larger than the mortal being. It seems an assignment meant only for the gods or the supernatural. The failure rate is very high indeed. That may explain the universal chaos that has continued to engulf humanity from creation.

The roll call is long. Adam failed, swept by the lure of the flesh. Pilate crumbled under the weight of mob pressure. Herod fell to the wiles of Herodias. Caesar mixed it up; Hitler, like Lucifer thought himself God and suffered a woeful finale.

The story is the same from creation to the Jesus millennial – statesmanship has failed man or vice-versa. Statesmanship, the graceful art of the gatherer, the pathfinder, the multiple-eyed one, the one who must never snore even in slumber, the one who must never sup until all have had their fill; the one who must be first and who must be last.

Most important, the one who though is ensconced at the Olympian height, beyond the sight of most, he it is who must stoop to serve all, even the lowliest. Such is the divine majesty of statesmanship. But oft, it is lived in lies and apocryphal propensities. For instance, why would a president, leader of a nation don top and pants and seek to be a footballer.

Why would another president insist he is bereft of the munificence to afford re-election documents so some nondescript stalwarts purport to gift it to him? That’s a travesty; it’s statesmanship debauched before the alter of state.

Statesmanship is often draped in virginal white; sepulchral and pure.

  • Commanding exploits through divine wisdom!

Welcome to a new month of enviable testimonies and liftings! All through this month, we shall explore the force of divine wisdom which, I believe, shall impact on every area of our lives. It will also grant us an unusual access into the deep things of God; thereby, empowering us into next- levels of exploits after the order of Christ and bringing about supernatural turnarounds in our lives.  Therefore, I want you to get set for an impartation of supernatural wisdom via the teachings of this month.

We discover from scriptures that exploits answer largely to the operations and manifestations of divine wisdom. By ‘exploits’, we mean extraordinary accomplishments. It connotes breaking new grounds, and setting new records. It implies out of this world order of accomplishments and outstanding successes with strange impacts. As it is written: But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him (1 Corinthians 2:9).

However, while exploit is God’s agenda for the redeemed, it takes wisdom to experience it. In other words, divine wisdom is the bedrock of exploits and everything answers to its operations and manifestations. The Scripture says: Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding (Proverbs 4:7). Obviously, without divine wisdom at work, exploits will remain an uphill task. Thus, we cannot disregard divine wisdom and experience exploits.

    What, then, is Divine Wisdom?

Divine wisdom is the wisdom from above. It is superior to all other kinds of wisdom, and it generates mighty and inexplicable works. Divine wisdom is knowing the right thing to do from scriptures. Also, it is walking in the light of God’s Word as revealed from the scriptures. Furthermore, it is thinking, speaking and working the Word. Interestingly, this wisdom is peaceable, ‘track-able’ pure, easily entreated, full of good fruits, without partiality and hypocrisy. Thus, it delivers the same way and at the same rate to anyone who engages it; there is no racial discrimination or partiality associated with it (John 3:31; Romans 2:11). We must understand that God has reserved the strongest wave of divine wisdom for the end-time Church which is going to be the mystery behind their exploits (Ephesians 3:8-11).

Remember, divine wisdom is not strange to us as it has been since the time of old and individuals who operated by it experienced supernatural liftings and glory. There are diverse scriptural examples of individuals who traded divine wisdom and emerged men of exploits and conquest as exemplified in the following:

    • Joseph: Through divine wisdom, Joseph interpreted Pharaoh’s dream and provided solution to the negative impact of the famine that was about to hit the land of Egypt. The Bible records: Thereafter, pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art…(Genesis 41:39-40).
    • Solomon: By divine wisdom, Solomon wrote 1005 songs and 3000 proverbs. Furthermore, the queen of Sheba heard of his fame and she came to see Solomon’s riches and test the depth of his wisdom. Subsequently, she was very impressed with Solomon’s wisdom and prosperity that she praise God for such a wise King (1 Kings 4:32).
    • Daniel: Among others, the display of the wisdom from above at work in Daniel empowered him to interpret the King’s dream which hitherto was too difficult for the magicians to do. This amazed king Nebuchadnezzar to the point that he… made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon( Daniel 2:48 , 1:20)

Like I have always said, the secret of men are in their stories. It is impossible to find any story on exploits that is not traced to divine wisdom.  We cannot have this kind of wisdom and not do exploit in life, which will put us ahead of others just like it did in the lives of the Patriarchs.  If the Patriarchs engaged it and turned them to men of exploits, I believed it is worth emulating.  Therefore, as you do, I see you moving unto ‘next levels’ of exploits after the order of Christ, In Jesus’ name! Welcome to your realm of unlimited possibilities! Remain ever blessed!

Nevertheless to gain access to this wisdom, you need to be born-again. Are you born again? If you are not, this is an opportunity to do so. Simply say the following prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the Living God. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me! Now I know I am born again!”

  • My victory divine, says Umeh

    My victory divine, says Umeh

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate and senator-elect for Anambra Central, Victor Umeh, has described his victory in Saturday’s rerun as divine.

Umeh won the senatorial rerun, having polled the highest votes

Addressing reporters yesterday in Awka, Umeh promised to champion the cause of the less privileged.

He said although he had limited time at the Senate, he stressed that he never allows  time to limit him.

“Lost time is lost. We look forward to the present and the future. I still have 18 months to work for my people and I have always said I am never limited by time.

“By the time I get there, I will do my best to support the leadership of the Senate; I will try to be ingenious in making my contribution to the good of my people and Nigerians.

“I will explore the possibility of receiving attention from the leadership. They have to look at my constituency with pity for what has happened to us,” Umeh said

  • God’s word: Key to divine health

We learn from scriptures that all the virtues of healing, including total health, reside in the Word. First, the Word of God is the all-purpose Balm for the all-round restoration of our health and vitality. Second, according to scriptures, the Word of God is the way out of the challenges of life; including sicknesses and diseases. As it is written: My son attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life (Proverbs 4:20-23; see also Luke 5:17).

We saw from scriptures that throughout the life and ministry of Jesus, He went about healing all those oppressed of the devil by the Word. Speaking of Jesus, the Bible says: And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them (Luke 5:17; see also Psalm 107:20).

That means that as Jesus was teaching, God’s Word became an automatic channel for the release of the power of God through which the people were healed. For instance, the woman with the spirit of infirmity for 18 years was made whole at the instance of the Word (Luke 13: 11). To the paralytic, Jesus’ Words were, ‘Take up thy bed and walk.’ And He became whole instantly (John 5:8). In Mathew 8:5-13, the Centurion, knowing the power of the Word of God, proclaimed: ‘Speak the Word only and my servant shall be healed.’ Miraculously, his servant was healed that self same hour. Furthermore, in 1969, I got healed of tuberculosis and I am still hale and hearty till today. I said ‘Jesus, if it true that You did all that they said You did in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, do it now!’, and as soon as faith came alive in the validity of scriptures, the darkness of tuberculosis fled from my body and today by His grace, I am one of the healthiest mortals on the earth.

This establishes that there is no other source in this world that can compare with the efficacy of the Balm in Gilead. This Balm does not only answer for the living, it answers, also, for the dead (John 11:25, 39-44). Consequently, while every other medicine only attempts to cure, the Balm in Gilead guarantees cure and beyond that, guarantees restoration. As it is written: His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; and his bones that were not seen stick out. Yea, his soul draweth near unto the grave, and his life to the destroyers. If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness: Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom. His flesh shall be fresher than a child’s: he shall return to the days of his youth (Job 33:21-25).

Thus, the Word of God is all we need to be in command of all sicknesses and diseases. This is because revelation in the Word is our ransom from the harassment of sicknesses and diseases. Let us recognise that every sickness is the work of the powers of darkness, but darkness disappears at the instance of light. ‘Light’ here connotes revelation, which is spiritual understanding of our rights in God and walking in the consciousness of same. It is from the Word of God that we access light that empowers us for dominion over sicknesses and diseases (Psalms 119:130). Whenever revelation breaks forth, diseases disappear on their own accord. However, we become victims of sicknesses and diseases when we lack light; but access to light makes us candidates of total health. It is written: And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not (John 1:5; see also Revelation 3:7). This may sound simple, but powerful and unbeatable. Therefore, we shouldn’t allow the devil confuse us regarding the simplicity of the gospel so as not to  miss out on the healing virtues embedded in the Word.

What, then, are the virtues in the Word that heals?

    • God’s Word is Medicinal: Proverbs 4:22 talks about health to all your flesh; in the original context the word health means ‘medicine’ to all your flesh. So, God’s Word is medicinal (Psalm 107:20).
    • God’s Word is Surgical: Whatever is not curable must be repairable; so, God’s Word is surgical. It has the capacity to repair any part of our system. When God made man, He said, It is not good for man to be alone, I want to make a help meet for him. So, man was put to sleep and God operated on him (Genesis 2:21-23). God is the Master Surgeon and He is still operating on people via His surgical Word (John 1:1-3).
    • God’s Word is Creative: If it cannot be cured, it can be repaired; if it cannot be repaired, it can be replaced (John 1:1-3).
    • Divine Nature: So, we partake of God’s divine nature from the Word and that is our ultimate immunity against every sickness and disease (2 Peter 1:4).

In conclusion, if these are the virtues embedded in the Word, then it is wisdom to become Word addicts. Let’s recognise that if we are not Word addicts, we stand to be tormented. However, it is the Word we engage that brings total health, not just the Word we understand and receive. This is why it is wisdom to pay the price to access revelation at all costs, engage with our findings so that our profiting can appear to all (Luke 5:4-7; 1 Timothy 4:13, 15; James 2:18-24, 26).

Nevertheless, according to scriptures, healing, health and wholeness are exclusively reserved for the redeemed. Are you born again? If you are not, this is an opportunity to do so. Simply say the following prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. • Jegede is divine choice, say ex-deputy governor, monarch

A former deputy governor of Ondo State and one-time ambassador to Uganda, Chief Omolade Oluwateru, has described the candidature of Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a “God’s given project”. Also, the Olukare of Ikare, Oba Akadiri Momoh, said the PDP candidate was reliable and hardworking.

Oluwateru said Jegede is the most suitable candidate having worked in the governor’s cabinet for the past seven and half years.

The ex-deputy governor, who served under the late former Governor Olusegun Agagu, spoke yesterday, when a group, the Jegede Network Forum, which he is a member, received the candidate in Akure, the state capital.

Oluwateru said: ”Jegede was chosen by God and he is extremely lucky. He is not about Akure agenda or project, but he’s God’s own project. For him to have worked in the outgoing governor’s cabinet for seven and half years gives him an edge over his fellow contestants in terms of experience, comportment and proactive reflexes.

“I know what I am talking about, because his understanding of the problems besetting all communities in Ondo State is fresh and steaming hot. And that is why here in Akure alone, we have vowed to mobilise over 150,000 votes for him.”

The Commissioner for Education, Chief Jide Adejuyigbe, said in Akure South alone, the people have launched ‘Operation150, 000 votes’, pointing out that there are 248,000 registered voters in the locality.

The chairman of the Jegede Network Forum, Mr. Adewumi Faji, asked over 5,000 supporters at the event to display their voter cards, which they joyfully did.

Thanking the supporters, an elated Jegede reiterated his cardinal programmes of massive employment through industrialisation and agricultural expansion.

Speaking at his palace, when 30 traditional rulers in Akokoland received the PDP candidate, Oba Momoh described Jegede as “our son who is humble, hardworking and reliable”.

He said the Mimiko administration had performed creditably and that it deserved a successor “from the performing team.”

The monarch said Jegede had been a friend of the grassroots people, long before he knew that he would be tipped to become governor.

Oba Momoh said: “Your coming here is just to pay homage; there is no need to campaign, as we all know the stuff you are made of.”

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly, Alhaji Fatai Olotu, an indigene of the area, appealed to the people to vote for continuity, stressing that Mimiko had completed the Awara Dam Scheme and that what was left was water-pipe extension to the various Akoko communities.

He also recalled that the Mimiko administration built an ultra-modern market in Ikare-Akoko, apart from providing free shuttle buses for school pupils.

  • My emergence as speaker divine, says Dogara

My emergence as speaker divine, says Dogara

House of Representatives Speaker Yakubu Dogara yesterday attributed his election to divine intervention.

According to him, he lacked the resources to fight for the position adding that the greatest challenge the country faces is bad leadership.

He urged followers to support and pray for leaders who mean well for the development of the nation.

Dogara spoke at a Thanksgiving church service at the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) Centre in Tafawa Balewa, Bauchi, his home state.

It was his visit home since his election as speaker on June 9. On Saturday, he visited Emir of Bauchi Alhaji Rilwan Sulaiman who prayed for the quick release of the Chibok girls who were abducted from their school dormitory more than one year ago.

He said: “God sent angels who made it possible for me. This is because in terms of resources and connection, there was no way we could possibly deliver this project.”

The Speaker thanked the people for their support and prayers and reminded them that it is God’ command in the Bible for them to pray ceaselessly for all leaders irrespective of differences.

He added: “The biggest challenge we have in this country is lack of credible leadership because if there is no leader, everything around us decays, but if we have good leadership, I believe Nigeria will be greater.

“With prayers, the quality of leadership we have will improve and if it improves, the quality of our lives will equally improve.

He said his emergence as speaker is a clear sign that northern Nigeria is becoming united more than ever before.

He said it was an act of God when the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, from the same Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of Bauchi state, where he comes from, became Nigeria’s first and only Prime minister in the first republic, Dogara said but for divine intervention, his emergence as the fourth citizen in the country would not have been possible.

“This victory we are celebrating here today wouldn’t have been possible without your support. Apart from the support from our brothers from other political zones’, support.

“The North at a time searched for leadership from other parts of the country because, we were divided. My emergence with the support of all people of different tribes and religions in Nigeria, showed that we’re beginning to come together as a region and Nigeria will be better for it.”

“For God to have returned to this region and pick someone here is an indication that there is a new dawn for this region.”

Executive Secretary, Tertiary Education Fund (TETFUND), Prof. Suleiman Bogoro, said Dogara’s victory is history made in grand style.

He described the Speaker as a man of faith who believed he was going to occupy a prominent position in the country, he added that “if we ever thought that someone from this land would work against the emergence of Dogara as Speaker, he was a liar because God made it possible.

“The said that can anything good come out of Nazareth? Something good has come out of Zaar land,” he said.

Guests at the Thanksgiving service included former Plateau State Deputy Governor Paulline Tallen, former Chairman Christian Association of Nigeria, Bauchi state, Rev. Shiabu Byal and Supreme Court Justice Bitrus Tsammani, among others.

  • ‘Amosun’s re-election divine’

    ‘Amosun’s re-election divine’

The National President of Ogun Patriotic Forum (OPF) and a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Seyi Shodipo, has said the second term victory of Governor Ibikunle Amosun and the decision of the 12  other governorship candidates to concede defeat had shown that his re-election was divine.

Shodipo spoke at a special thanksgiving/prayer session at Soji compound, Igbore,  Abeokuta South Local Government Area.

The APC stalwart assured the people that the future of the state under Amosun will not only witness the completion of his rebuilding mission but also achieve a greater level of development in all areas.

The OPF president said the people were proud of Senator Amosun’s initiatives  aimed at making Ogun the envy of other states.

Shodipo thanked the people  for re-electing  the governor and for their unflinching support.

He said the re-election marked a new dawn in the state as the Amosun administration was set to build on the foundation it had earlier laid to make the state a model for other states.

  • Alamieyeseigha’s pardon divine, says ArthurAEze

    •‘It’s against national interest’

The state pardon granted to former Bayelsa State Governor Diepreye Alamieyeseigha and eight others by President Goodluck Jonathan was directed by God, multi-billionaire businessman, Arthur Eze, has said.

The National Council of State last week endorsed the State pardon by President Goodluck Jonathan for Alamieyeseigha, former Chief of General Staff, Gen. Oladipo Diya, Major Bello Magaji, Mohammed Lima Biu, Maj.-Gen. Abdulkareem Adisa (Posthumous), Major Seun Fadipe and former head of the Bank of the North, Shettima Bulama.

Speaking with State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa yesterday, Eze said the criticisms against the state pardon was uncalled for.

Stressing that Nigeria is an independent nation, he said the American government has no right to dictate to Nigeria on the issue.

He said: “What Jonathan did is what a man who fears God will do. If I have an opportunity as president of Nigeria, I will do the same. All of us are human beings. What he did was correct. We are not fighting war. Jonathan took advice from God.

“God has told him to show mercy. The Bible says blessed are those that are merciful for they shall see God.”

Also speaking on his over N1 billion donation to a church in the President’s village, Otuoke, Eze said those criticising him over the donation are against God.

He went on: “God gave me the money to contribute to the church. The money is not meant for Jonathan to put in his pocket. We are thinking of thanking God for what he has done for Otuoke.

“It was abandoned for many years. They had no water, no electricity until God brought Jonathan to change the place. Let the people have a place to worship God. Those criticising me are confused people.”

But a group, Yoruba Ronu Leadership Forum, yesterday said the pardon granted to Alamieyeseigha and others was against national interest.

It said it found it rather shocking that President Jonathan’s spokesman, Dr. Reuben Abati, could allegedly accuse Nigerians of engaging in “sophisticated ignorance” over “a grave matter.”

According to the group, Abati was wrong to criticise Nigerians, who angrily reacted to the unsolicited state pardonr.

In a statement by its Secretary-General, Akin Malaolu, the group said Jonathan should not be seen to be mingling with persons with questionable past.

It added that perhaps Abati forgot too soon that the Presidential Advisory Committee on the Prerogative of Mercy was wilfully bypassed and that Chief Alamieyeseigha had not shown publicly that he was ashamed of his criminal past.

  • Marriage: A divine origin

    Marriage: A divine origin

    Dear Reader,

I welcome you again to this exciting week, in the presence of God. Last week, I taught on, Marriage: A Divine Origin. This week, I shall be discussing the topic: Companionship.

In Proverbs 27:17 the Bible says: Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

In the first unveiling of the marriage bond, God said: It is not good for the man to be alone… (Genesis 2:18).  Eve was created as a companion for Adam and vice versa. The Hebrew word for “companion” expresses a close personal relationship. In marriage, a man and a woman are to become intimately united in body, purpose, thoughts, and goals -”one flesh”.

The idea of partnership, companionship, the combination of husband-wife mind-power, a shared dream or vision should not be ignored, lest the union is impoverished.

For instance, there are some decisions I would have taken that would not have profited me; but because I’m privileged to be married to my husband, a man of integrity, who is sincere and godly, those errors were avoided

If your marriage begins with the clear understanding that companionship is a vital pillar of your relationship, then this concept becomes a powerful force which encourages a permanent bond.

The secret behind good companionship is the rule of leaving and cleaving, which is an essential part of a marital union.

However, there’s no way two pieces of iron can sharpen each other, except they both come together in contact. Thus, this provision only works when you are united as a couple.

Friend, you can tap into the honour God has reserved for those united in purpose. But the problem with many families, and the reason nothing seems to be working, is that many times, both parties have not caught the same picture of their desires. They are not united in purpose, so they slow down their blessings from coming.

You need to apply this spiritual principle of agreement, to see your dreams come true.

The right place to begin from is a personal relationship with God, through Jesus Christ. If you want to start this relationship right now, you can say this prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, I come to You today, I am a sinner. I believe You died and rose on the third day for my sins. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today.

Congratulations!  You are now born again! Till I come your way next time, please call or write, and share your testimonies with me through: E-mail: faithdavid@yahoo.com; Tel.  No: 234-1-7747546-8; 07026385437; 07094254102
