DJ Commissioner Wysei, also known as Iwuagwu Patricia Ebere has addressed the recent allegations of assaulting police officers in Lagos.
Contrary to reports that she was remanded to Kirikiri Correctional Facility, Wysei claimed that she was granted bail on the same day of her arrest.
The incident dates back a few months when the Magistrate Court at Eti-Osa allegedly ordered her remand for assaulting officers, resisting arrest, and obstructing police duties.
Lagos Police Command spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed these charges on his X handle.
“For assaulting police officers, resisting arrest, and obstructing police officers in the discharge of their duties, Iwuagwu Ebere, aged 29, popularly known as Commissioner DJ Wysei, has been remanded by the court in Kirikiri Correctional Facility until May 8, 2024, while her bouncers who aided and abetted her were remanded in Ikoyi Correctional Facility,” Hundeyin stated.
However, in an interview with TMY NEWS, DJ Wysei denied the accusations, explaining that the policewoman involved in the incident denied any assault in court, leading to the case being struck out.

She said the incident began when she arrested a promoter who owed her money.
After agreeing to settle out of court, she returned to the police station to find the promoter being driven away without her knowledge.
In the ensuing confusion, Wysei claimed she was attacked by a female officer.
She said despite appealing to the Area Commander, she was detained and taken to court the following day, where the case was dismissed.
