Do2dtun leads over 20 OAPs in championing black fab’s ‘Soundyard Vol 1’

The Nigerian music industry witnessed a potentially historic moment as media heavyweight Do2dtun gathered over 20 of Lagos’s most influential on-air personalities for an exclusive preview of Black Fab’s debut project Soundyard Vol 1.

What emerged from the session was not just enthusiasm for new music but a collective commitment from Nigeria’s media gatekeepers to champion an artist they believe represents the future of Nigerian sound.

“I’m pleading with everyone to adopt Black Fab as our own,” Do2dtun told the assembled media professionals, which included Taymi B, Moni, OTB, RnB, Louie, Arthur, Alimat, Kolade, Cheche Smith, DJ Rabbit, Chichi Ella, Grand Prince, Real Skillz, Timi, Charity, Kemismallz, Emmanuella Odiatu, Yaw, and Fola.

“This music is the reason I’m getting back in the music business. The sound is so refreshing. I’m excited about where this journey is headed.”

The call to action from Do2dtun resonated deeply with attendees, many of whom have spent decades navigating Nigeria’s complex music industry.

After previewing tracks including “I Like Am,” “Away” (releasing January 30th), “Ufedo,” and “Keep On Moving,” the consensus was clear: Black Fab’s Soundyard Vol 1 merits extraordinary support.

“Do2dtun’s plea wasn’t necessary—we were already sold,” revealed Beat FM’s Kemismallz. “‘I Like Am’ alone would have been enough to get my attention, but when you hear the full scope of Soundyard Vol 1, you realize you’re witnessing something special. This is the kind of project that reminds you why you got into media in the first place.”

Attendees have begun coordinating support strategies, ensuring maximum visibility for Black Fab’s music across platforms. The collaborative approach—rare in Nigeria’s often competitive media landscape—underscores the unique impact of Soundyard Vol 1.

“We’re not just talking about individual stations playing Black Fab’s music,” explained Inspiration FM’s Taymi B. “We’re discussing a coordinated ecosystem of support—interviews, features, playlist placements, social media amplification. ‘Away’ drops January 30th, and you’ll see what unified media support looks like in the Nigerian context.”

The project’s lead single strategy has also generated discussion. While “Away” will serve as the next official single, industry insiders suggest tracks like “Keep On Moving” and “Ufedo” could receive simultaneous promotional pushes due to their distinct appeal to different audience segments.

“‘Keep On Moving’ speaks to a more introspective audience, while ‘Ufedo’ has that celebratory energy perfect for peak radio hours,” analyzed Splash FM’s Moni. “Black Fab has created a project with multiple entry points, which is strategically brilliant. Every listener will find their favorite track, which means organic word-of-mouth will amplify whatever we do officially.”

DJ Rabbit, whose playlist selections often predict commercial success, confirmed he’s already building mixes around Soundyard Vol 1 tracks. “I haven’t been this excited about new music in years,” he admitted. “The production quality, the songwriting, the vocal performance—everything about this project hits the mark. When ‘Away’ drops on January 30th, I’m ready.”

Lagos Talks’ Kolade contextualized Black Fab’s emergence within broader industry trends. “Nigerian music has achieved global recognition, but there’s always the question of what comes next,” he observed. “Black Fab represents an evolution—maintaining the Afrobeats foundation while pushing sonic boundaries. Soundyard Vol 1 feels like an answer to that ‘what’s next’ question.”

Industry consultant Arthur suggested the listening session itself represented a new model for artist development. “Rather than the traditional approach of releasing music and hoping for media pickup, Black Fab’s team invested in relationship-building first,” he explained. “By bringing together this specific group and allowing us to experience the music together, they’ve created built-in advocates. It’s strategic brilliance.”

With confirmed release dates—”Away” on January 30th and the full Soundyard Vol 1 project expected in Q1 2025—Black Fab enters the year with institutional support from Nigeria’s media establishment. Do2dtun’s passionate endorsement, combined with coordinated commitments from over 20 influential OAPs, positions the artist for what could be one of 2025’s most significant breakthrough stories.

“This is what happens when genuine artistry meets strategic industry engagement,” summarized The Beat’s Fola. “Black Fab has created music that doesn’t need artificial hype—it speaks for itself. Our job now is simply to make sure Nigeria hears it.”

  • Why Peller, Jarvis are a ticking time bomb – Do2dtun

Why Peller, Jarvis are a ticking time bomb – Do2dtun

Media personality Do2dtun has reacted to the recent incident involving content creator Peller, who crashed his car during a live broadcast amid reported relationship issues with Jarvis.

Sharing his views on X, Do2dtun said the couple’s relationship appears to be built on superficial foundations, arguing that it is driven more by interest and external validation than by a genuine emotional connection.

He warned that such dynamics often create unrealistic expectations and unhealthy patterns, stressing the importance of individual growth and self-development.

According to him, Peller and Jarvis should consider taking time apart to discover their individual identities, make mistakes independently and grow as individuals.

Do2dtun also described the relationship as seemingly cute but ultimately toxic, adding that without constant external validation, the pair might actually be better off.

He further cautioned that fame and money can be dangerous tools, particularly for young people like Peller and Jarvis who are still navigating their lives and personal development.

He said, “A relationship built on interest & validation will eventually cause you to have unattainable expectations, the need to live above your means & satisfy the desires of strangers. What are you both besides the light camera action? Anything built to satisfy the energy of the people is a ticking time bomb.

“They both have a long way to go. They are in a time & age to make their mistakes. Live & develop themselves individually against doing it through a relationship. They tied their innocence to the expectations they created for themselves. We amplified an unrealistic expectation. Sadly, it takes away the happiness when the demand is high.

“When you are grown to think money against all odds is the only key to be seen; validated or keep a relationship; you just built your own cage. You will move from being happy to being seen. Any relationship that requires you must be together to be validated will eventually lack individualism; happiness & turn to just performance. One party will feel cheated eventually.

“Peller & Jarvis is a ticking time bomb. Trust me, they need to move around, test the waters, live and make their mistakes individually. They will eventually see their truth and worth. They might even realize they should have just being friends or might come together later in future and have an amazing relationship. I am not ruling it out but they need to LIVE! and grow individually for now.

“They grew too fast and we encouraged it. You people that stan them are the real devils. Kids at their age still live under the roof of their parents. There is no justification for his actions & also it’s time he needs to reevaluate his primary role. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. Many of us were stupid at that age, we just had guidance. These kids are already playing their parents roles, what do you expect?

“Once your kids become the parent or your friends over being your children in their teenage years; you might lose them. No matter how famous they are or what they give you, put your foot down on certain things. Fame is fickle yet it needs to be tutored & controlled. Even adults can’t handle it not to talk of kids.

“Let a child be a child. We did stupid things too at their age. The only difference is some didn’t have the capacity to amplify it. Fame & money are dangerous tools. These kids at this age might even be the breadwinner. Who wan advise them? Things are otherwise done in reverse. Children need to be children even if you are famous.

“Peller & Jarvis is not a symbiotic relationship. One will grow faster than the other and feel caged and the other might be feel slighted for giving everything and yet can’t control the narrative. It is cute but toxic. Them without us, the clicks and what we think might be perfect. Sadly, you are all invested hence why it won’t work”.

  • I feel better when I reply online trolls – Do2dtun

I feel better when I reply online trolls – Do2dtun

Media personality Do2dtun has explained replying negative comments gives him a sense of relief and authenticity, rather than bottling things up.

Speaking during a recent podcast, he said: “I like the fact that I have a great pair of people who actually follow me and I rather deal with people that know me very well and what that means is that sometimes I can come across as… I kind of pose a personality that is abrasive but that’s not who I am”.

Explaining further, he noted how the entertainment industry often pressures public figures to ignore criticism.
He said: “I think for me it came from the idea of when I was in this space, entertainment as it is, it was easier to say things to people and then you just embrace it.

“Everybody has their own different threshold, right? Then it was easier for me to take these things sometimes, to validate these things. When someone says ‘ah you’re mad,’ I’m thinking okay maybe I’m actually mad.

“But because the fact that you’re in a space pushes you into a public position -okay, you’re a public figure, and certain things you can’t address, just leave it as it is”.

However, Dotun admitted that staying silent doesn’t always work for him.

“But the truth is I felt better…when somebody says certain things to me and I don’t like it and I’m not happy about it. I’m like a human being before anything. If I met you on the road and you said that to me, I probably would have replied you anyways. The only difference now is that it’s on the phone,” he said.

“There’s so many people I don’t even reply, I just block them off. But I feel better when you say things to me and I say mine back. Go and check all my conversations. If I address anything, I address it from a point of view of wisdom, and I’m not saying I’m the wisest person in the room, I just think I’m one of the few guys who I’ve seen I’m a human being before anything else, which is normal, it’s okay.”

Speaking further on his personal growth, Dotun explained how living his truth has helped him evolve as a person, even when it exposes his vulnerable side.

“Now apart from that, I also have grown to understand that I got better as a person when I became… I live my truth and I just don’t hold it back.

“For example, with all the things that happened with me, with family -people that know me, Dotun will never – so I saw comments like ‘Dotun will never have…’ that’s it. They saw that side of me because you’ve touched something that really got to me,” he said.

“And why would I lie to myself and hide if I have to deal with it differently? We’re all different.
“But the truth is that we are all in an industry that embraces that you don’t speak your truth regardless of whether it is or you see things going on with people and then you have to just suck it up because at the end of the day that’s what it says.”

Do2dtun urges DJs, Hypemen to adjust rate cards ahead of ‘Detty December’

Media personality Do2dtun has issued a public service announcement to DJs and hypemen, advising them to review and adjust their rates ahead of the festive season.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Do2dtun noted that many musicians tend to charge exorbitant fees during the period, which could make them unaffordable for some brands and individuals.

He suggested that DJs and hypemen should take advantage of this by offering more flexible pricing to fill entertainment slots that might otherwise remain vacant due to budget constraints.

He wrote, “This is a public service announcement to all Hypeman & DJs yet again. We are getting close to that time of the season where our beloved musicians will charge ridiculously, & maybe some brands & individuals can’t afford it. So, pls adjust your rate cards so you can fill in for them. Hype is alive.”

Similarly, comedian Mr. Jollof recently criticised the high performance fees charged by Nigerian artists, describing them as “unrealistic.” He warned that the trend could dampen the festive season’s celebrations and urged musicians to reconsider their rates in consideration of fans and event organisers facing rising costs.

Do2dtun supports Rudeboy’s lawsuit threats against online accuser

Media personality Do2dtun has come to the defense of Paul Okoye popularly known as Rudeboy in the midst of a controversy involving an X user, chubbiedivah.

The controversy began when chubbiedivah accused Rudeboy of raping his house-help and sending his wife and sister-in-law out of the house.

In a statement addressed to Rudeboy, Do2dtun warned that if chubbiedivah is not held accountable, there will be consequences.

Do2dtun expressed frustration over the damaging allegations, emphasising the difficulty in defending one’s reputation against baseless claims.

“Listen @rudeboypsquare, if you leave that girl @chubbiedivah girl, we go fight. I am Looking for a scapegoat too & I mean it. The damage is unbelievable. it’s hard to defend things you know are not true abt your personal life especially when some dimwits say it with such audacity with no proof. I have gone thru these for years but one day will be one day. No one have the monopoly of madness,” he wrote.

Rudeboy has since vowed to take legal action against chubbiedivah, promising to use all necessary means to bring her to justice.

“I hardly reply!!! But you see this one!!! @chubbiedivah, if you like, go private, leave X !! I will find you; I will use every necessary means, power, resource, and money. You will face the law; I will use you as an example. (scapegoat )… Your only way out is to leave the surface of this Earth and relocate to space. • Do2dtun slams Nigerians abroad advising others to stay in Nigeria

Do2dtun slams Nigerians abroad advising others to stay in Nigeria

Media personality Do2dtun has criticised individuals who have relocated abroad but still offer advice to others on why they shouldn’t make the same move.

According to Do2dtun, unless these individuals have returned to Nigeria and are currently living there, they shouldn’t discourage others from pursuing the same path they took.

He argued that people who have benefited from leaving Nigeria shouldn’t lecture others on the difficulties of living abroad when they themselves haven’t returned to face those challenges.

Do2dtun wrote, “If you japaed, stop advising people on why they should not come over. If you haven’t moved back to Nigeria; you still live there, pls shut up. U are not qualified to discourage pple who want to follow the same path. keep your advice to yourself. If e too hard, come back. Let others try”.

Do2dtun also criticised Nigerians’ reluctance to challenge wealthy or influential individuals, even when they’re wrong.

He described those who defend the status quo as “gaslighting” and having a “slave mentality.”

According to him, this attitude stifles progress and allows the privileged few to continue benefiting at the expense of the masses.

He added, “In Nigeria, it’s a crime to challenge a rich man. You will see how angry a gaslighting, God forsaken, ignorant; alatenuje; disoriented & slave mentally individual who sees them as mentors will attack you for challenging them when they are wrong”.

  • Do2dtun seeks preservtion of local culture

Do2dtun seeks preservtion of local culture

Media personality Do2dtun has spoken on Nigeria’s cultural landscape and the country’s ability to adopt and adapt various cultures.

However, he notes that Nigerians often fail to preserve and appreciate their own cultural creations, instead viewing them as ordinary.

Do2dtun, in an interview on the Culture League podcast, hosted by Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface, cites Afrobeat as an example, pointing out that while it originated in Nigeria, its global popularity and value are often better recognised by outsiders.

He mentions how international artists like Drake and Chris Brown have incorporated Afrobeat into their work, earning recognition and accolades.

The media personality emphasises the importance of self-appreciation and preservation of Nigerian culture, stating that the country’s people often underestimate the value of their own creations.

He added that Nigerians need to recognise and preserve their cultural heritage, rather than taking it for granted.

He said: “So, I think the truth is, Nigeria, the world we have, we don’t really do well is preserving. We have it, we create it, and we dump it. We’re very good at picking other people’s culture and just making it our own. For example, Amapiano. That’s why I say it’s an advantage. We can turn anything around. We just need for us to be able to preserve these things. Because, for example, look at Afrobeat, for example. Afrobeat is the window to many things that happen lately. Music, even acting, to anything in the world.

“Even as it came into Nigeria, Afrobeat opened a lot of doors. But you know then, conversations started to happen. I’m not an Afrobeat artist. I’m not this, I’m not that. You can never really hear a regular star say, I’m not a regular artist. But I also understand at the end of the day, that was something we owned. We have it, we owned it. But we see the way the people who are not Nigerian see these things. It’s bigger than what you think it is.

“Drake wanted to make an Afrobeat song. Chris Brown did so many Afrobeat songs, that even got him a Grammy nomination, and things like that. So the truth is, when it comes to culture, it’s nicer when you go out and you see how people really are. But because we don’t know, the problem with Nigeria is, as much as you would think we’re big on these things, we don’t know how this is gold to us. But people, they see it, other people see it as gold. We play with it and we don’t really care. But I feel like the ovation is louder. For example, look at what’s happening with you guys as footballers. I mean, I’m sure you go to places and be thinking, so Nigerian people like me.

“And my own people, they would have yabbed me. I think we just need to preserve more. I think that’s the thing in Nigeria. If we create many things, beautiful things, we just don’t know how to preserve it. So people who see it out there, they see it as gold. From our fashion, to even our way of life. Some people don’t really want to be you. Some people will hate on you, because they like what they see, but they just want to be, but they just don’t know how. And that’s how we are. We’re premium people. We just need to be able to understand that. I think outside, they really see it as gold, and they accept it very easily”.

  • 2baba needs therapy, evaluation, Do2dtun reacts to apology video

2baba needs therapy, evaluation, Do2dtun reacts to apology video

Media personality Do2dtun has expressed deep concerns for 2baba’s well-being, following his recent apology video on comment of men’s lack of s3xual faithfulness.

According to Do2dtun, he sees that as a sign of vulnerability and believes that 2baba is being taken advantage of, forced to apologise and act in ways that aren’t genuine.

According to him, 2baba’s behaviour is unusual and concerning, and he thinks the singer needs therapy or evaluation to address potential underlying issues.

Do2dtun attributes 2baba’s behavior to possible trauma and fear, revealing that the singer’s vulnerability is being exploited by someone close to him.

He questioned why 2baba is being made to retract his statements and apologise like a child, emphasising that the legendary singer hardly addresses issues in such a manner.

Do2dtun wrote on X: “Please, I don’t like this 2afce I’m seeing. Something is not right at all. He can express himself how he chooses to, but why always make him retract a video or apologise like a child?. He is vulnerable, and& someone is milking it. Whoever is holding that camera is wicked.

“Someone is forcing him to be who he is not. 2face hardly addresses anything, even in his worst scandals. He never addresses anything like this. Something is wrong. He is regressing, and I hate it.

“I don’t care what his personal life or choices caused for him, cos that will be our 1st choice of defence. We can’t all judge him sometimes. He can’t be wrong all the time. Even if he is, I won’t replace the masterpiece he created for his mistakes. This isn’t looking good at all.

“The apology video might be necessary to the cause it chooses to convey, but why is it sacred to just speak your truth as he lives it? The person letting him do these videos is not making him do it for his brand but for themselves. Someone is taking advantage of his situation.

“At this point, I’ll say this out loud. I think 2Face needs help. Therapy or genuine evaluation. Something is not right at all

“I love him so much, and I don’t know how. We allow things to happen to people because we blame them all the time. How about we don’t and look at things critically? Everyone can make their choices, but not everyone deserves to live with them. We owe it to them to set them straight sometimes.

“From experience, trauma and fear make you vulnerable, especially when you are out of your comfort zone, a happy or safe place. The floodgates will open up, and everything will seem right even when it is wrong, and vice versa. This is where you need your true friends. This is where a 2face needs a Sound Sultan. It’s quite sad.

“It might sound like it makes no sense now. Give it a few years and we will come back to this conversation… iree o!”.

Consider family of partner before marriage – Do2dtun advises

Media personality Do2dtun has shared valuable advice on the need to consider a partner’s family before committing.

In a post on his X page, he stressed the importance of gaining acceptance from a partner’s family, especially those who influence key decisions.

Do2dtun warned that a lack of family approval can create an unsustainable situation, cautioning against relying on a partner to constantly mediate or defend the relationship, as this can lead to emotional exhaustion.

He urged individuals to prioritize their well-being and happiness rather than sacrificing themselves for others, reminding his followers that while the heart can endure challenges, the mind has its limits before it begins to break down.

Do2dtun wrote: “Before you pick a partner, look at the family first. It’s very key. If a decision-maker doesn’t like you, it’s over. If you expect your partner to stand in the gap, they will eventually break. It’s worse if you now have a partner that has no mind of their own.”

“If you are a means to an end, your happiness doesn’t matter. However, be accountable and let your decisions bring joy to your family or else the day you drop the ball, it’s the ones that don’t like you amongst them that will take advantage.

“Let your sacrifice extend to your well-being first as you extend it to others. Your heart can be big enough to take it all but your mind is not. It eventually destroys the heart. Family is not only what you do for them but what they do for you too. Happy Valentine’s Day everyone”.

Media personality Do2dtun has defended comedian AY and actress May Edochie following the emergence of a viral artificial intelligence (AI) video that appears to show the two in a compromising position.

The video, created using artificial intelligence, sparked widespread outrage and debate on social media.

On his Instagram page, AY expressed his displeasure with the video, calling for responsible use of technology and warning of the consequences of spreading false information.

However, Dotun OAP has urged AY and May Edochie to set the record straight, pointing out that they are both single and have the right to pursue happiness.

He also celebrated AY’s expertise and acknowledged that the video was created using AI.

In his post, Dotun wrote on X: “Open note to AY: you are an amazing creative with so many years of experience & grace. Sometimes, it is easy to judge & maybe not perfect in a few ways, but are we all? No

I need you to know one thing: Yes, it’s AI, and it should not be encouraged for this purpose. But let me be honest: You are not doing anything wrong.
