Reality star Doyin criticises men who s3xualise women

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Doyin David has addressed the tendency of some men to s3xualise women upon first meeting them, focusing on physical attraction without seeking to understand them as individuals.

During a recent appearance on the dating-focused talk show ‘Thanks For Coming’, hosted by Grand Prince Ita, Doyin stressed that while s3x is important, she is a complete person beyond her physicality.

“Most times when a guy meets a girl, it’s very easy for them to s3xualise her. What’s s3x going to look like with this person, without getting to know the person. S3x is important to me, but I’m a whole human being outside of my vagina,” she said.

Doyin also discussed the challenges of dating in Nigeria, describing it as highly stressful for both genders and noting that she hasn’t gone out on a date for several months due to these difficulties.

“It’s been a minute, to be honest. A couple of months ago. Dating in Nigeria these days is an extreme sport. It’s hectic,” she said.

Speaking of her ideal partner, Doyin highlighted the importance of a man who listens actively and adjusts his behavior based on her concerns, viewing these traits as key indicators of a strong relationship.

I’ll never participate in Nigerian reality shows again, says BBNaija’s Doyin

Former Big Brother Naija Season 7 housemate, Doyin David, has declared that she will no longer participate in any Nigerian reality show, citing the negative impact it had on her mental health and public image.

Speaking during a recent podcast, Doyin revealed that her experience on BBNaija was mentally draining and left her feeling overexposed.

She criticised the way reality shows portray contestants, saying it often creates misleading impressions about their true personalities.

She noted that Nigeria’s highly judgmental environment worsened the experience, making her reluctant to return to any local reality TV platform.

However, she hinted at being open to appearing on a reality show outside the country under different circumstances.

She said, “When you go on a reality TV show. They portray you how they want to portray you. Not everything is how you really are, but they’ve given everybody an impression of you, and some of those impressions are not true. There’s a lot that people think about me and think I am, in terms of my personality, that is really not who I am at all. Being on a reality TV show, my experience was very challenging mentally, very exposing. I wouldn’t do it again for any amount of money. Except it’s a reality TV show outside the country, then I’ll probably take it. But Nigerians are too judgmental, so no, I’m not blessing them with my presence ever again”.

Reality star Doyin David in a candid interview with Live With Lynda, revealed that her first stint on the show wasn’t her best and that she was fake, portraying a mature and mediator persona that isn’t truly her.

According to her, she is a fighter in real life.

As an influencer, Doyin shared that she was once dropped by a brand due to an interview she gave, and she takes full responsibility for it.

She also made a distinction between content creators and influencers, stating that while they can overlap, they aren’t the same thing.

She said: “My first run wasn’t my best run, to be honest. I have been on the show twice, and I came out of the show, and I hated it. I was fake. I came out with the narrative that Doyin is too mature. She is always trying to talk things out; that’s not really me oo. In real life, I fight.

“I am not a content creator.

Influencers are people who try to sell a product to their audience. I think content creators can be influencers, but I don’t think influencers can be content creators.

“There is no bad or good brand. I had a brand that dropped me. They had signed me and paid me the money, but they called and asked for a refund, and it was because of an interview I did. And to be fair to them, I deserved to be dropped because why did I talk?”

Why I don’t believe in ‘Hallelujah Challenge’ – Doyin David

Big Brother Naija star Doyin has sparked controversy by sharing her unconventional views on religion, sparking a heated debate among fans and critics alike.

In a series of candid Snapchat posts, Doyin argued that Nigerians prioritise prayer over action, staring religious programmes aren’t the solution to the country’s problems.

She emphasised the importance of self-improvement and providing value.

Doyin wrote: “I get a lot of those hallelujah challenge and what God cannot do doesn’t exist. People keep sending them to me but I just don’t believe in that type of stuff so I never join.

“It’s not bad… I just don’t believe in it. If it were really by ‘hallelujah challenge’ and ‘what God cannot do’…..Nigeria should be one of the greatest countries by now. We spend too much time praying and shouting hallelujah instead of actually working and being actual good human beings.

“They will shout hallelujah finish and go back to cheating the next person they encounter or judging someone because the person presents themselves differently.

“To me, it’s just a complete waste of time but to each his own. If you believe in it then by all means. At the end of the day, all that should matter is having a good relationship with God and being a good human being.

“If you like, shout hallelujah from now till next year. If you don’t find ways to improve yourself and provide value….you’ll keep shouting hallelujah in hunger.”

Reality star Doyin David has advised against being a full housewife.

He said it was dangerous for women to depend solely on their husbands.

Terming it as risky, Doyin spoke on a recent episode of her podcast, Doyin’s Corner where she emphasised that she does not support the idea of a woman becoming a full housewife without having any savings of her own.

Doyin said: “One of the riskiest things you can do is to get married and want to be a full housewife and just completely depend on your husband without having any money saved. I don’t support that anybody should become a full housewife. I don’t. I think it’s too risky.”

“I understand that taking care of the house is a lot of work but I don’t think that should be anyone’s only job. I will never be a full-time housewife even if I’m married to the wealthiest man alive.”

She stressed on the importance of having one’s source of income, stating: “I think both people need to have money of their own before getting married, both the man and the woman.”

She added that any man who does not want to be snatched by another woman won’t be snatched.

“I believe that a man that can be snatched did not want to stay in the first place. It doesn’t matter how good of a cook you are or anything. If a man wants to leave it’s not because of anything another woman did to snatch him, if he’s going to leave, he’d leave for another woman anyway,” she stressed.

She expressed the view that people change, saying that she raised the possibility of her future husband altering her behaviour and no longer providing for her and their children.

“Number two, there’s this level of respect that comes with having your own money like when your partner knows you can provide. You don’t need to ask them for everything. You can handle certain things in the house. And I would really like to have that respect in my marriage.

“And third, there are certain things that are out of our control. What if he dies? God forbid. We don’t pray for that but what if he dies? How am I going to sustain myself and my kids? So, sustainability is a very big thing for me. At least, I would have a business.”
