    Lawmaker, NGO give relief to residents

    Dr Rhoda Makinde Initiative (DROMI), and Abiola  Makinde, lawmaker representing Ondo in House of Representatives, have given relief to residents at a open market.

     Beneficiaries said they got food items worth over N25,000.

     Items on display at the free market were rice, yam, beans, garri, spaghetti, noodles, raw cow and goat meats, plantains, vegetables, onions, tomatoes, pepper, vegetable oil, palm oil, soaps, cloth, pressing iron, blender, and others.

     Dr. Rhoda said the initiative was to make food available to women.

     The  lawmaker said he was aware of challenges people go through. Makinde promised more reliefs to the needy.

     A 54-year old woman, Mrs. Mopelola Akinbobola, said the initiative was the first in the history of Ondo. She confirmed she picked items worth N25,000 free of charge.
