    • Denies having problems with Mbokani

Super Eagles and Dynamo Kyiv striker, Brown Ideye has said he is a happy man at his Ukrainian club.

Ideye told newsmen Saturday that he has no issues with his club, and will continue to give his best to ensure that he plays regularly and delivers goals, ahead of the FIFA Brazil 2014 World Cup later this year.

“I have a good relationship with everybody in my team: the players, the coaches and the club president.

“Leaving the club right now is not an issue. I have a lot to play for at the club, and I can only put all my focus there to get to the next level.

“I am also aware of a story on the internet quoting me as being disgruntled with the club. That’s not the truth, I was grossly misquoted: but I will not bother about that. I have a mission and right now it is with Dynamo Kviv,” he added.

The former Sochaux striker also has asserted that Congolese forward, Dieumerci Mbokani is his friend, and what exists between them at Dynamo Kyiv is only friendly, healthy competition.

The media became awash with stories of discord, after the club signed Mbokani from Anderlecht last year, reducing the first team starts of Ideye who still insists that had not affected his relationship with the club or his team mates.

“Mbokani is my friend and we are very close. I agree I always want to play and every footballer wants to play.

“So, does it bother me that I do not start as often as I want? I will say, yes it does because, naturally every footballer wants to play games.

“When I first joined this club, the great Andreiv Shevchenko was here and I was starting ahead of him, yet he kept encouraging me and it brought out no bad blood.

“I therefore do not see why I cannot do the same and encourage Mbokani now he is starting ahead of me.

“It is not an issue for me. It is football and these things happen. Mbokani is a good guy and we have a good relationship. This rivalry will only make us work harder and it is the club that will benefit from it,” he said.

Ideye was the top scorer for the Ukrainian side in the 2012/2013 season, and contributed to the side when called upon this term, before the Ukrainian league went on winter break.

    • Says Eagles’ star showed character

SUPER Eagles and Dynamo Kiev forward, Brown Aide Ideye has recieved a pat on the back from club coach, Oleh Blokhin after displaying a decent performance in Thursday’s 3-1 win over SK Rapid Wien in their final Europa League cracker in Kiev.

The Nigeria international who played all 90 minutes was unfortunate to add his name to the scorers sheet but was the architect of Dynamo’s second goal by Oleh Husyev in the 28th minute.

“It was a good game. Both sides struggled for qualification for the next stage. We had to complete this task in the last match of group stage. We conceded early in the game, but I’m thankful to the players for demonstrating their character. They fought till the end and managed to win.”

Speaking further, Blokhin stressed that he is looking foward to have some time off in the coming days.

“I guess I want to have rest. I also wish my family all the best,” Blokhin added.

Meanwhile, Ideye’s Dynamo will on Monday know their next opponent for the knock-out rounds of the Europa League. The Kiev dwellers have been placed on second seeds pot and will likely face the likes of Fiorentina and Napoli who are top seeds in the Europa League draw. Other likely opponents are Eintracht Frankfurt, AZ, Basel, Benfica, Valencia, Genk, Salzburg, Ludogorets, Olimpique Lyonnais, Rubin, Sevilla, Tottenham Hotspur and Trabzonspor.

The Round of 32 will be formed on Monday and include the teams dropping down from the Champions League.

Teams from the same country cannot face each other, nor can they take on an opponent already played in the group phase.

    Haruna scores, Ideye sees red

A late goal from Lukman Haruna helped Dynamo Kyiv to a 2-2 away draw against Vorskla on Sunday.

Haruna scored in the first minute of added time to help Dynamo salvage a point on the road, after they started the game on the wrong foot as Adis Jahovic tucked in a pass from Gromov to open scoring for the hosts in the 33rd minute.

Younes Belhanda equalised for Dynamo seven minutes later, but Gromov converted from the spot to restore Vorskla’s lead in the 45th minute, before Haruna’s late goal ensured both teams had a share of the spoils.

Brown Ideye started the game ahead of Dieumerci Mbokani but was given his matching orders in the 51st minute, before Ideye came on 20 minutes later.

Dynamo occupy a disappointing fifth place in the Ukrainian Premier League with 18 points, and are already 11 points off League leading Metalist.

    •Ideye benched

Super Eagles and Dynamo Kiev midfielder, Lukman Haruna, exhibited a superb performance to help his side to a 2-1 away win over Horvela, in a Ukraine Premier League week two fixture on Saturday.

Haruna started and played all 90 minutes of the encounter, providing an assist for the visitor’s second goal on the night.

Dynamo’s last season top scorer, Brown Aide Ideye who just returned to the side after the FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil was again left on the bench for all 90 minutes, losing his striker role to new signing Mbokani.

Two first half strikes from Mbokani in the 39 and 41 minutes gave the visitors a first half 2-0 lead with assist from Garmash and Haruna respectively before a late consolation by Balashov reduced the deficit but Kiev held on to return home with all available points.

The win means Dynamo are tentatively placed second with four points from two games behind leaders Dnipro.
