  • Nigerians react over planned return of evicted BBNaija housemates

Viewers of the ongoing BBNaija ‘Double Wahala’ reality show, have taken to various social media platform to oppose the return of disqualified housemates.

Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, host of the show announced on eviction night on Sunday that organisers of the show were giving Nigerians the opportunity to vote back two preferred evicted housemates, including those disqualified.

It should be recalled that Khloe and KBrule, the duo known as K-square earned three strikes as a pair, for flouting the rules of the house and were subsequently disqualified.

However, in this new twist introduced in the show, the disqualified housemates stand as much chance as others who were `honourably’ evicted through viewers’ votes, to return to the house.

They perceive the move as ‘unfair’ and urge the organisers to cancel the strikes given to CeeC, Lolu and Tobi, if disqualified housemates are allowed to return.

@Adunimckinson tweeted, “I don’t have a problem with them bringing past housemates, but why bring back disqualified housemates? If Kbrule and Khloe are coming back to play for 45 million Naira, then revoke the strikes you gave CeeC and Lolu.”

@Chiradine wrote, “It will be unfair to bring back disqualified housemates without removing the strikes of other housemates. Please let’s play fair.
Disqualified housemates should not be allowed to come back. ”

@Boo_berry3 tweeted, “If Big Brother can bring back disqualified housemates, and then he should take away Tobi, CeeC and Lolu’s strikes.”

However, some viewers are kicking against the entire idea of bringing evicted housemates back on the show, arguing that they have already been exposed to the game plan.

They added that evicted housemates will have upper hand as they already know what the viewers want, being outside the house.

Don Jazzy, popular Nigerian music producer and owner of Mavin records wrote @DonJazzy, “Dear Big Brother, I don’t think this is a fair move.”

@Terrific tweeted, “Let me understand Biggie’s strategy. To bring back evicted housemates who have an idea of what the viewers want already? To compete alongside housemates without a clue? Highly unfair.

Meanwhile, the affected housemates are already intensifying their campaign for votes to return back to the BBNaija house including the disqualified duo of Khloe and KBrule.

One of the evicted contestants, Ifuennada has launched a hastag #BringBackIfuEnnada #BringBackIfu to solicits for votes from fans and viewers.

She wrote on her social media platforms @ ifuennada “Thanks for always supporting me. Now that Big Brother has given me an opportunity to return, I know you’d go all out for me. Much love!

“Guys we can do this please and please I take God beg una. Biko abeg I take GOD BEG UNA NOTHING LIKE PRIDE, ME I NEED THAT MONEY,’’ Ifuennada stated.

The remaining nine housemates, CeeC, Lolu, Miracle, Tobi, Nina, BamBam, Teddy A, Alex and Rico Swavey continue to battle for prices worth 45 million Naira.

    — Ebuka Obi-Uchendu (@Ebuka) April 9, 2017

This comes after the top five housemates were asked to campaign for votes on Thursday, April 5, 2017 in which they stated reasons why they should be given the chance to win the game.

The Payporte sponsored show had earlier recorded over 11 million votes last week when Bally, Marvis, Debie-Rise and Tboss were up for nomination which saw Bally being evicted from the house.

The final week witnessed aggressive votes from the fans who wanted their favorites to win. This was featured with online campaigns, tours and rallies in order to canvass votes for their preferred housemates.

Campaign teams for the top five housemates took to social media to educate fans on who to vote for through the endorsed We Chat Application and text messages with hash tags trending for each housemate.

The show which came to an end yesterday saw the winner; Efe scored 57.61 per cent of the total votes closely followed by Bisola’s 18.54 per cent, Tboss’ 16.60 per cent, Debie-Rise’s 8.78 per cent and Marvis’ 1.47 per cent.

  • BBNaija: Biggie strikes housemate, as viewers vote Uriel out

BBNaija: Biggie strikes housemate, as viewers vote Uriel out

The unusual happened on social reality show, Big Brother Naija (BBN), as Kemen was sacked from the competition for violating the rules of the game. This happened hours before the live eviction show, anchored by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.
Kemen, one of the two brawny housemates got the first warning strike last week for what Biggie described as conspiring with Marvis against some housemates for possible eviction. It was at this instance that Biggie cancelled last week’s nomination exercise and put up all the housemates, safe for Bisola and Bally who had immunity and ThinTallTony who was able to save himself having won the Head of House task. It came as a surprise to viewers that Kemen broke the BBN rule again, especially having been made to write out the in-house rules in the aftermath of last week’s transgression. This time, he was found guilty of sexually harassing a female housemate, TBoss, while she was asleep. This is perhaps the first time any housemate will be disqualified from the show in the decade-long history of the Big Brother franchise in Africa.
Kemen, an opinionated BBN housemate, is a ship manager turned fitness entrepreneur and Port Harcourt’s most sought after personal trainer.

Banky W who visited the housemates as a celebrity guest penultimate week, made a second appearance on the show. This time, opening the live eviction show with his song, “All I Want Is You”. He later performed another of his hit songs, “Yes or No”.
Amidst palpable tension in the house, and suspense by Ebuka, the hammer of real eviction fell on Uriel, as the housemate to secure the least number of votes from fans. It was the first time that the Hammersmith, England-born housemate was put up for possible eviction. Having played her way smartly in the heart of other housemates, it was clear Uriel couldn’t garner enough liking from viewers.
Joining Ebuka on stage, Uriel was surprised to be faced with the crowd. “I’m in shock. This is crazy. I thought it was a joke. Can I go back…? ” she asked jokingly.
On her dual personality in the house, given her freer mien in the diary room, she said: “I just thought the diary room is where you go to and just express yourself and be you.”
About getting romantic with any male housemate, the radio personality who hails from Imo State said she has been single for a year and although she was attracted to Bassey whom she believed was indecisive.
Uriel who was the first housemate to enter the house on January 22, 2017, was also shocked to discover that Ese and Jon who left last week were fake housemates.
The remaining housemates can heave a sigh of relief as there will be no eviction next Sunday. However, Ebuka advised them to do less of bonding and focus on the prizes, as the game gradually moves towards the end.
The voting pattern revealed that Efe came tops with the highest vote of 39.9 percent. Kemen would have been evicted all the same, having scored 4.8 percent which represented the lowest number of votes. Uriel scored the second lowest with 7.9 percent, followed by Debbie-Rise with 8.3 percent; Bassey with 11.8 percent; Marvis with 12.9 percent and TBoss with 14.4 percent.
