The former National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Edozie Njoku, formally assumed office yesterday as the National Chairman of the National Rescue Movement (NRM).
He promised to uplift the party and lead it to electoral victory.
Edozie spoke during the inauguration of NRM’s enlarged Executive Committee (Exco) where members were elected at the party’s emergency national convention in Abuja on January 17.
During the event, the immediate past National Chairman, Ambassador Isaac Udeh, stepped down, handed the party’s flag and other paraphernalia of office to Edozie, while the National Legal Adviser, Oladimeji Ekengba, administered the oath of office on Edozie.

The national chairman hailed Udeh for vacating the party’s chairmanship seat for him.
He noted that the gesture was a challenge to him and his team to positively impact the fortune of the party.
“Today, a bigger platform has been delivered to us. Today is not a day of speech making but a day of celebration,” Edozie said.
The national chairman expressed optimism that he and his team would deliver on what was expected of them.
