    Nigeria striker Edward Ofere has returned to Scotland to join Dundee United after he featured for another Scottish club Inverness Caley Thistle last season.

    Ofere has signed a contract till end of the season and does not need a work permit as he holds a Swedish passport, africanFootball.com reports.

    The 29-year-old quit Turkish club Boluspor last month.

    He scored six goals in 13 appearances for Inverness last season and also featured when the club won the Scottish Cup.

    One of his goals was against Dundee United last term.

    Turkish First League club, Boluspor, has signed ex- Malmo striker, Edward Ofere, on a one year deal

    This will bring an end to speculation regarding the future of the Swedish – Nigerian after he chose not to extend his contract with Scottish Premier League club Inverness Caledonian Thistle despite the prospect of featuring in the Europa League.

    “I have signed a one – year contract with Boluspor and I have been handed jersey number nine,” Ofere told allnigeriasoccer.com.

    A product of Enugu Rangers, Edward Ofere has already started training with Boluspor and could play in the club opening game of the season against Kayseri Erciyesspor if he proves his fitness.

    Edward Ofere clinches historic Scottish cup

    Nigeria striker Edward Ofere has written his name in gold after he won an historic Scottish cup with Inverness CT following a 2-1 win over Falkirk in the final yesterday.

    Inverness lifted the trophy for the first time in their history.

    The former Lecce of Italy striker played the entire duration of the game as his team triumphed.

    He scored in the famous semi-final win over mighty Celtic. Ofere scored five goals in the 10 league games after joining them on a free transfer in February.

    He has played for Malmo, Trelleborg FF (both Sweden), Sogndal (Norway) and Vestsjælland (Denmark).

    EDWARD Ofere has expressed his happiness at the opportunity to join Scottish Premier League club Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

    The Caley Jags confirmed on Friday evening that an agreement has been reached with the Nigeria international until the end of the 2014 – 2015 campaign, subject to international clearance.

    ”I have signed a deal with Inverness Caledonian Thistle until the end of the season,” Edward Ofere said to SL10.ng.

    ”I chose to join Inverness CT because it’s a fantastic club. They have been in the top three and that shows you the quality of this club.

    ”I have great teammates here.I will play with jersey number seven. ”

    After spending five years at Malmo, Edward Ofere left for Lecce in 2010,but he departed the club two years later after they were demoted.

    The 28 – year – old then returned to Sweden for a brief spell with Trelleborgs FF, before moving to FC Vestsjælland, Denmark.

    The Swedish – Nigerian penned a short – term deal with Sogndal last August.

    Nigeria striker Edward Ofere has joined Scottish premier league side Inverness Caledonian Thistle, africanFootball.com reports.

    The 28-year-old has penned a deal until the end of the season, but this is subject to international clearance.

    Last season, Inverness Caley finished fifth in the Scottish top flight.

    Ofere has three caps for Nigeria and has previously played for Enugu Rangers, Malmo, Lecce, Trelleborgs, Vestsjaelland and Sogndal.

    Fotbolltransfers.com can reveal that the striker Edward Ofere today (Monday) signed a contract with Danish club FC Vestsjalland.

    The Nigerian signed a six-month contract with Trelleborg FF in August. After eight goals in eleven games he is now moving to Denmark to further his career.

    “Ofere is ambitious, likes Danish football and is going to score for FC Vestsjalland in the Super league. He also had the option in Serie B, Norway and Sweden,” said the player’s agent, Romadi Kidane to Fotbolltransfers.com.

    Edward Ofere has signed a contract with the Vikings until the summer of 2014. Vestsjalland currently occupy the tenth place in the Danish Superliga standings.
