    •Bisola shuns ex-housemate Offiong

IT was a cold reception Bisola Aiyeola gave fellow housemate and ‘lover’, Tony Offiong, aka ThinTallTony, when they met at a news conference in Lagos yesterday, despite their romantic moments together while in the Big Brother House.
Tony, a dancer, who was evicted some weeks ago, kept his marital status under wraps throughout his stay on the show and it was only on the eviction night that Bisola confirmed he was married.
Organisers of the show used the conference, which held at the Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos, to present the car prize, a Kia Sorento SUV and a cheque of N25 million to Efe Ejeba, winner of the Big Brother Naija reality show.
Some other housemates were also present at the event.
While Bisola, the first runner-up and recently appointed ONE Campaign ambassador, hugged other members like Bassey, Jon, Soma and Gifty, she theatrically greeted Tony without physical contact, unlike the tactile relationship they developed in the BBN house.
While in South Africa, Bisola was shocked when she noticed that Tony wore a wedding band whereas he never disclosed he was married.
“I hope your family is doing great; well done to you, to them,” she said curtly.
“Feel just betrayed that we were really close, come on, we shared a lot of things together.”
Upon being evicted, Tony, a father of two, had said it was an agreement between him and his wife, Laraba Offiong, not to discuss his marital status on the show.

Rousing welcome for BBN winner Efe in Lagos

WINNER of reality show – Big Brother Naija (BBN) – Efe Ejeba yesterday arrived into the warm embrace of his admirers.
The crowd of fans in branded T-shirts had waited patiently for about three hours, singing and dancing at the Arrival Wing of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, to give a rousing welcome to Efe.
Efe, who arrived in Nigeria with Bisola, the first runner-up, was further delayed by airport officials and co-passengers, who struggled for photo ops at the luggage arena after disembarking from a South African Airways flight from Johannesburg, where the show was recorded for 78 days.
It was an exhaustive moment for the Delta State-born rapper who has just assumed an elevated celebrity status, but he managed to keep a smile all through, despite a possible jet lag.
The encomium was not only for Efe, as the crowd also sought fun moment with Bisola, a versatile entertainer, who dazzled many with her sonorous voice and comic skills throughout her stay in the Big Brother house.
Outside the airport, it was hectic for the team of policemen and protocol officers from Multichoice, organisers of the show, to shield them from the crowd, and usher them into the waiting convoy.
Efe returned with a prize N25 million and a Kia Seranto Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) which is expected to be presented to him at a later date.
He beat fellow finalists – Bisola, TBoss, Debie-Rise and Marvis – in a tension-filled finale that had fans of the show canvassing vigorously for their preferred housemates.
In the house, Efe, who is the youngest contestant – aged 24 – was unique for his frankness, multiple-term as Head of House, and his common use of pidgin diction with jokey phrases.
A graduate of Economics from the University of Jos, Plateau State, the self-acclaimed ‘street’ boy, who was one of the usually nominated housemates for possible eviction, had, each time, led the vote chart.
In the last three months, Big Brother Naija was estimated to be the most watched show on the Africa, shutting down Instagram, Facebook and Twitters with trending issues daily.

  • Expectations for the week

Finally, the Big Brother Naija show came to an exciting end yesterday after reaching its peak; Efe Ejeba, a graduate of Economics who hails from Delta state emerged victorious after securing 57% of the total number of votes casted by fans.

To give you a quick recap, earlier in the program yesterday, Marvis, DebbieRise and Tboss were evicted making Bisola and Efe as the last two standing housemates; eventually, Efe was announced winner. The implication of his meteoric rise to fame means that he gets a cash prize of 25,000,000 naira and an SUV.

The breakdown of the votes are: Efe (2,502,494), Bisola (704,072), DebbieRise (109,659), while Marvis and Tboss got 57,341 and 683,802 respectively.

With these numbers of votes, the housemates won’t be the only ones smiling to the bank, the organizers too must be making so much ‘mazuma’ and wishing they can put this up twice in a year.

After performing many tasks and taking part in this entertaining show, people are hopeful that these individuals will go ahead to blossom in their chosen careers like former Big Brother housemates, Karen Igho, Ebuka Uchendu and Tayo Faniran after now.

The health crisis ravaging the country seems to be on the increase, over 420 Nigerians have been reported dead as a result of Meningitis. However, the glimmer of light for us all is that a solution is underway.

In a hilarious slant, the Zamfara State governor added comic spice to the already tense situation when he declared that God was “punishing” his people with the disease.

Many Nigerians including the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi urged the state governor not to bring God into the picture but rather look for pragmatic solutions to assuage the health crisis that has overtaken his state. In a reprisal response, Yari reiterated his earlier comment, stating that his people have stopped living the life pleasing to God and He was using this medium to punish the people.

Hopefully, natural solutions and “spiritual” ones too will be gotten quickly so that this very deadly disease will become a thing of the past.  Already, the federal government has commenced vaccination in Zamfara which happens to be the most affected state after recording over 200 deaths to this scourge.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has discovered monies whose owners haven’t showed up to claim them in recent times. They have also been able to get suspects arrested but they have not been able to properly prosecute their cases in court. Judging from very recent examples, the anti-graft agency needs to beef-up its prosecution process to ensure that they are not labeled ‘toothless dog’ by the public.

President Buhari has equally called upon them to properly dig deeper into issues before dragging suspects to court.

Mfm fc of Agege has moved back to the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League after trouncing El-Kanemi warriors of Maduguri 3-0 in Lagos at the weekend. With goals from wonderboy Sikiru Olatunbosun, goal king Stephen Odey and Austine Ogunye, the “Olukoya boys” now go top of the log with 33 points followed closely by Plateau United who have a game in hand.

In an ugly incident over the weekend in the league, fans of Kano Pillars attacked the Akwa United team after losing the home game. Hopefully, proper punishment will be meted out to the club to serve as deterrent to others by the organizers of the league. Also, the organizing body has to ensure they bring the league back on television after two weeks of non-availability of league football live for all to see.

    …Gets N25 million, SUV
Bisola, first runner up, TBoss, second runner up

After 78 days of dramatic activities in the Big Brother Naija (BBN) house, the lifestyle reality show came to an end, Sunday night, with Delta State contestant, Efe Ejeba winning the coveted prize of N25 million and a Kia Seranto SUV.
Efe, an upcoming rapper and last man standing on the show beat fellow finalists – Bisola, TBoss, Debie-Rise and Marvis – in a tension-filled finale that had fans of the show canvassing vigorously for their preferred housemates.
The 24-hour three-month long live show which commenced recording in Johannesburg, South Africa on January 22, 2017, with 12 housemates who were later joined by two others, and another two but fake housemates, climaxed in glamorous live performances that had DJ Neptune, music artistes Innocent Idibia, aka 2Baba, Tiwa savage and Emmy Gee, throwing up so much vibes amidst pomp.
While in the house, Efe, who is the youngest contestant – aged 24 – was unique for his frankness, multiple-term as Head of House, and his common use of pidgin diction with jokey phrases.
A graduate of Economics from the University of Jos, Plateau State, the self-acclaimed ‘street’ boy, who was one of the usually nominated housemates for possible eviction, had, each time, led the vote chart.
Female housemate and multi-talented entertainer, Bisola was a high contender for the prize. She told Big Brother in a Diary Room session earlier that win or lose; “I feel like a winner already.” She noted that it took her eight years to be selected as a participant, and believes the show will impact her career greatly.
Big Brother who expressed optimism for her talents admonished her in a touching way, as she fought back tears. It was the most emotional last Diary Room session.
He said: “It’s been an amazing experience having you in the house – your versatility, your incredibility. Yes, there have been moments you have told big Brother that certain things you have done and may have said, that you wish to take them back; but who can judge you, except they have been through this experience themselves. It’s always good to find out why people do what they do. That curiosity leads to understanding, and understanding opens up the human souls to compassion, and compassion is the cornerstone of love. For there is no guilt in humans, all there is, is love. Bisola, as you leave tonight, may genuine love find you. May you prosper beyond your imagination. You are a gold fish… you are a gold fish; there will be no hiding place for you. All the good things will locate you. You can sing, you can act… the question is not what can Bisola do? It is what can’t Bisola do? Big Brother has truly enjoyed your stay in the house and wishes you all the very best in your future endeavor. You’ve got a Midas touch, go touch anything a d it will turn to gold. Good luck to you…”
2Baba opened the show, singing his latest song, ‘Holy Holy’, followed by Mavin Record’s First Lady, Tiwa Savage with ‘Key to the City’. When Emmy Gee climbed the stage featuring AB Crazy and DJ Dimplez, they sang ‘Rands and Nairas’. Tiwa Savage returned one more time to the stage, doing the medley, ‘Romatic’ and ‘All Over’, while 2Baba closed the performances with the classic, ‘African Queen’.

It was a live crossing show, with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu hosting the South African studio leg, while former BBN winner, Katung Aduwak anchored the live broadcast from the Lagos screening center, the Classique Event Place, Kudirat Abiola Way, Ikeja, with fans of the show, sponsors, Nigerian media and past contestants of the show.
Marvis was the first to leave the house. When asked if she would want to further her relationship with Efe, she became evasive. Marvis’ exit was followed by that of guitar girl Debie-Rise who had disappointment written all over her. Asked where her heart belongs between Efe and Bassey, she noted that although it was natural to get attracted to one or two persons, “But I really like Bassey.”
It was jubilation at the Lagos screening center when TBoss was evicted, just as the crowd at the Johannesburg studio where sort of booing her. She had been the most controversial housemate, noted for a beautiful body, full of tattoos and piercings which she displayed at will. The internet was abuzz last week when it was said that the Nigerian-Romanian housemate could not recite the National Anthem. She, also being the reason Kemen was disqualified from the show. However, she was declared overall winner of Friday Payporte arena games with a voucher of N500, 000 for shopping.
Presenting another side-laurel; the ONE campaign prize, won by Bisola, was Honorable Desmond Elliot and Sarah Makka. She will be joining organisers in New York to speak further at the United Nations Assembly on educating the girl-child.
When Efe was declared winner, it was clear Bisola was the first runner-up.
Previously evicted housemates include Miyonse, Soma, CocoIce, Gifty, Uriel, ThinTallTony, Bassey, Balley, and Kemen, who was disqualified for breaking the rule of the game. They were all present at the Lagos live screening.

#BBNaija: No eviction next Sunday after Uriel, Kemen sent packing

There will be no eviction of any housemate from the Big Brother Nigeria House next Sunday.

This was the decision of Biggie after two housemates were evicted for different reasons.

While Kemen was evicted for inappropriate behaviour to one of the housemates, TBoss, Uriel left the normal way, after scoring the lowest vote among the seven housemates billed for eviction.

The Seven housemates were; Efe, Uriel, Kemen, who has been disqualified for violating house rules, Debie-Rise, Bassey, TBoss, and Marvis.

Uriel, the housemates’ favourite got the lowest votes of 7.9.

She would have been saved because Kemen had 4.8. But he was earlier disqualified, which brought Uriel next in line.

In a brief interview with Ebuka after she left the house, Uriel said that everything in the house about her was real.

The Imo State born make up artist said it was an amazing experience in the house with challenging tasks.

“Things that I would normally not be able to do, I did them in the Big Brother House.”

She said Ese was cool and knew the right button to press, but that no one can press her (Uriel’s) button.

She also explained that Ese said some nasty things about her in the Diary Room adding that she also gave it back to her.

However, she was shocked when Ebuka revealed to her that Ese and Jon were fake housemates.
The fifth evicted housemate said she would focus on her music and may open a beauty shop outside the Big Brother Naija Game Show.

The eviction night show saw Nigerian talented Rhythm and Blues singer Banky W putting up a scintillating performance.

NAN reports that Uriel’s eviction on Day 42 has brought to five of the housemates that have been evicted. With Kemen, being disqualified, six housemates have now left the show.

Those evicted were Coco Ice, Soma, Miyonse and Gifty; six housemates are still in the house for the 25 million naira and an SUV prize to the winner. They are ThinTallTony, Debie-Rise, Efe, TBoss, Marvis and Bassey.
