    Eid-el-Maulud: First Lady urges reflection on love, tolerance

    As Muslims in Nigeria celebrate Eid Maulud marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has urged all to reflect on the Prophet’s teachings of love, kindness, and tolerance.

    In her Maulud Nabiyy greeting, Senator Tinubu emphasised the importance of embracing the values of peace, compassion, and unity exemplified by the Prophet.

    She encouraged Nigerians to use this opportunity to build stronger communities and a more harmonious society, where love and kindness reign supreme.

    The First Lady also wished Muslims a joyous and peaceful celebration, praying that the blessings of the day bring happiness to homes and the country at large.

    “I felicitate with the Muslim ummah across our great nation as we celebrate this year’s Maulud Nabiyy, the blessed birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

    “This occasion reminds us of the values of peace, compassion, and unity that the Prophet exemplified throughout his life.

    Akpabio tasks Muslims on love, selfishness at Eid-el-Maulud

    Senate President Godswill Akpabio, on Sunday, charged Muslim faithful in the country and in the Diaspora to be inspired by Prophet Muhammad’s virtues of harmony, love and service to humanity as they celebrate his birthday.

    Akpabio made the call in a statement to celebrate Muslims on the feast of Eid- el-Maulud, signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh.

    “Distinguished Muslim brothers and sisters, on behalf of my family, constituents and the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I extend warm felicitations to you all on the occasion of Eid el Maulud, the birthday of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

    Eid-el-Maulud: Bauchi gov calls for peace, condoles victims of flood disaster

    As Muslims across the country mark the 2024 Eid-el-Maulud, Bauchi Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has called on residents of the state to maintain peace and harmony, irrespective of the  ethnic, religious, and  political differences.

    The governor, who made the call  in a goodwill message issued by his special adviser on media and publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, ahead of the celebration tomorrow, also sympathised with victims of recent flood disasters in parts of the country, particularly in Borno state.

    According to the statement,  Governor Mohammed expressed gratitude to Allah for granting the people the opportunity to witness the birth anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). 

    He stressed that the Prophet’s teachings of peace, and love for one another should guide the conduct of all individuals, regardless of religious background.

    He urged Muslims in Bauchi and beyond to reflect on their relationship with both their Creator and fellow humans, making necessary amends as they observe this significant religious event. 

    “As a responsive government, we are deeply concerned about the current economic hardship that is making life difficult for Nigerians,” the governor said.

    Mohammed urged citizens to pray for divine intervention to alleviate the economic challenges. 

    Governor Mohammed reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to maintaining law and order, noting that his administration, in collaboration with security agencies, would continue to safeguard the lives and property of citizens. 

    He warned that any individual or group attempting to disrupt peace would be dealt with according to the law.

    The governor concluded his message by extending warm wishes to the people of Bauchi State for a peaceful and hitch-free Eid-el-Maulud celebration, praying for continued guidance and protection from Allah.

    Eid-el-Maulud: Imbibe teachings of Prophet Muhammed, Ajadi charges

    A chieftain of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Amb. Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo has felicitated with Muslims in Ogun State and country on the Eid El-Malud celebration.

    He urged everyone to uphold the virtues of Prophet Muhammed, charging Muslims and non- Muslims to imbibe holiness which characterised the conduct of the Prophet during his sojourn on earth.

    Ajadi, in a goodwill message marking the birth of Prophet Muhammed, said Nigerians should use the opportunity to pray for the nation as well as those saddled with leadership responsibility, for wisdom from the Almighty Allah to take right decisions that would lead to nation’s building.

    He called on Muslim faithful to re-dedicate themselves to the struggle for the emancipation of the new Nigeria as they reflect on the ideals and teachings of Allah.

    The NNPP gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 elections in Ogun State noted that Nigeria would overcome all her challenges with the help of Allah, stressing that everyone should resolve to build a country where goals and aspirations of the people would be met, while urging them to remember the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W), which according to him encouraged strong commitment to the development of the society.

    He also appealed to the youths to shun violence and resist any temptation to be influenced negatively, reminding them that Prophet for which his birth was being commemorated was a lover of peace.

    He reminded them that with hard work and the fear of God, their dreams would become a reality.

    While wishing all Muslims a happy Eid-el Malud, Ajadi urged the Muslims and Christians to continue to live in peace and harmony with one another, stressing that no meaningful progress had ever been achieved in an atmosphere of chaos.

    Governor of Bayelsa state, Douye Diri, has felicitated with Muslim faithful on the celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

    Governor Diri, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Alabrah, noted that the feast of Eid-el-Maulud is a celebration of love and a time to reflect on the Prophet’s teachings on unity, compassion and peace.

    He enjoined adherents of Islam in the state to always strive to be their brother’s keeper, show practical love and ensure peaceful co-existence with others.

    Eid-el-Maulud: God will see us through our security challenges, says CDS

    The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Christopher Musa, expressed confidence that with the collective commitment of all Nigerians, the country will overcome its security challenges with the grace of God.

    He said that as a very important segment of society, the military would continue to commit itself to ensuring peace and stability in the country.

    The CDS said this on Wednesday, September 27, in his message to troops in commemoration of the Eid-El-Maulud.

    Gen. Musa said the occasion was an “opportunity to thank the Almighty Allah for His blessings, protection, and guidance, especially as He continues to protect us through these difficult and challenging times.

    He said: “This year’s Eid-El-Maulud celebration is an opportunity for members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) to imbibe the virtues of the Holy Prophet Mohammed and pray for the unity and progress of our dear nation.

    Plateau Governor Caleb Mutfwang has felicitated with Muslim faithful in Plateau State and across Nigeria as they celebrate Eid-el-Maulud.

    In a statement, by his spokesman, Gyang Bere,the Governor encouraged the Muslim Ummah to seize this occasion to offer prayers for the unity, peace, and progress of Plateau State. 

    The Governor specifically urged them to pray earnestly for an end to the security challenges currently facing both the state and the nation as a whole.

    Mutfwang called on the Muslim community to follow the teachings and values of Prophet Muhammed, emphasizing love, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.

    Eid-el-Maulud: Let’s rehumanize Nigeria, Uba Sani group charges Muslims

    A group under the auspices of Uba Sani Legacies Solidarity Forum has urged Nigerian Muslims to use the opportunity of Maulud celebrations to spread the spirit of forgiveness, rehumanize Nigeria and restore national harmony.

    The convener of the group, Isa Musa, made the call in a message to commemorate the birthday of the prophet of Islam, Muhammad (PBUH), in Kaduna on Wednesday, September 27.

    While expressing optimism about peaceful celebrations, the group asked Muslims to remain steadfast in their prayers for Nigeria’s healing from its myriad of problems.

    According to the group, Nigerians have a duty to enthrone enduring harmony as upheld by the holy prophet( PBUH).

    The group also urged the people of Kaduna State not to relent in their prayers for the sustainance of the development projects of the Governor Uba Sani-led administration, with its “special target on rural poor, disabled and other underserved persons.”

    It also asked Muslim scholars in the country to continue to uphold the spirit of religious tolerance and resist the temptation towards ethnic divisiveness and blind partisanship.

    The group said: “We are grateful to Almighty Allah for blessing Kaduna with a governor whose main thrust is rebuilding the battered lives of the poor and underserved in our midst, while bent on frontally confronting insecrity in the state.”
