    El-Kanemi Warriors edge Barau FC in Preseason Friendly

    El-Kanemi Warriors FC continued their preseason preparations with a narrow 1-0 win over newly promoted Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Barau FC in a friendly encounter held at the Barau Stadium, Danbatta.

    Kick-off was delayed due to a heavy downpour, but both sides eventually fielded strong starting lineups. Zayad Musa led the line for the Warriors, while the defensive duo of Godspower and Muritala Dagbo provided a solid foundation that kept the first half goalless.

    After the break, the Babagana Umara Zulum Boys upped the tempo and pressed for a breakthrough. Their efforts paid off in the 63rd minute when Al’amin delivered a precise pass to newly signed forward Jonas Emmanuel. The former Nigeria U-20 striker, recently acquired from Niger Tornadoes, calmly slotted home to give El-Kanemi the lead.

    Despite creating multiple opportunities to extend the margin, the Warriors were unable to add to their tally. However, head coach Kabiru Suleiman Dogo made tactical substitutions to maintain energy levels and secure the win.

    A rematch between the two teams is scheduled to take place again at the Danbatta Stadium, as El-Kanemi Warriors gear up for tougher preseason tests against Plateau United and Mighty Jets in the coming days.

    NPFL  hammer falls on  El-Kanemi with N3.5m fine

    El-Kanemi Warriors has been sanctioned by the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for security breaches, including failure to ensure sporting conduct of their supporters during the Matchday 34 fixture against Ikorodu City.

    The sanctions range from monetary fines to an order of the stadium closure to fans for the rest of the season.

    In a Summary Jurisdiction notice issued to the club following rowdy incidents before and at the end of the match in Maiduguri, the club was charged for breaches of Rules B13.52, C9 and B13:18 of the Frameworks and Rules of the NPFL.

    For failure to provide adequate and effective security which resulted in unauthorized persons gaining access to restricted areas and harass the match officials, the club was fined N1million.

    El-Kanemi Warriors also got slammed with a N1million fine for their supporters’ act of throwing objects on to the field of play while another fine of N1million was also imposed on the club for failure to ensure the proper conduct of your supporters, which resulted in damages on the away team vehicle.

    The club is to pay a half a million Naira compensation to Ikorodu City for damages to their vehicle. The last of the rulings on the incident is an order for the club to implement more effective match day security framework and crowd control measures, details of which must be submitted to the NPFL within seven (7) working days of the date of this notice.

    In accordance with Rule C26, the club is required to through a written response, indicate acceptance of the ruling or elect to appear before a disciplinary panel.
