    How I influenced Wizkid’s music genre – Eldee 

    Singer Eldee The Don has shared how he influenced Grammy-winning singer Wizkid in his early career days.

     In an appearance on the Adesope Live show, Eldee disclosed that he was instrumental in convincing Wizkid to explore Afrobeats.

    He said at the time, Wizkid was signed to EME record label and was initially inclined towards Reggae and Dancehall music.

    However, Eldee said he advised him to incorporate Nigerian influences into his sound, finding a middle ground that would resonate with local audiences.

    Eldee noted: “Wizkid was leaning towards Reggae and Dancehall when Banky W signed him before he dropped his first single, but I told him he has to find a middle ground and do something Nigerian with a lot of flavors in it.”

    Singer Eldee The Don has highlighted his father’s pivotal role in advancing Nigeria’s technological landscape, revealing that he was the first to connect the country to the internet.

    Speaking on the Adesope Live show, Eldee disclosed that his father established Nigeria’s first cyber cafe in Lagos and provided internet services to major clients, including oil companies like Mobil and government institutions such as the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

    Eldee credited his early exposure to technology to his father’s groundbreaking efforts, noting that it significantly influenced his journey and gave him an edge in the music industry.

    Eldee said: “Thankfully, I had a dad who was in technology. My dad was a pioneer in his own space as well.

    “That man [my Dad] was the first person to connect Nigeria to the internet. This is something people argue about because they don’t know his name. He wasn’t that guy who wanted to put himself out there.

    “The very first cyber cafe in Lagos was set up by my dad. The very first connection for Mobil, CBN and government agencies, my dad was doing all of that.

    “At that time, we had access to technology that wasn’t really available. So having all of that, I had a studio in our house where the music is being produced.”

    Hip-hop artiste, Sikirullahi Olanrewaju Dabiri, popularly known as Eldee The Don, has asserted that couples who overly spend on engagement rings and parties are most likely to get divorced.

    He said that prioritising expensive engagement or wedding rings is “generally not financially responsible.”

    He stated this in a recent post shared via his Instagram story.

    Eldee wrote: “The more money a couple spends on their wedding and engagement rings, the more likely they are to divorce, study reveals.

    “No surprise here… People who prioritize these kinds of expenses are generally not financially responsible in the first place. So… They’ll fall out eventually, and it’ll be over money.”
