Singer Eldee The Don has shared how he influenced Grammy-winning singer Wizkid in his early career days.
In an appearance on the Adesope Live show, Eldee disclosed that he was instrumental in convincing Wizkid to explore Afrobeats.
He said at the time, Wizkid was signed to EME record label and was initially inclined towards Reggae and Dancehall music.

However, Eldee said he advised him to incorporate Nigerian influences into his sound, finding a middle ground that would resonate with local audiences.
Eldee noted: “Wizkid was leaning towards Reggae and Dancehall when Banky W signed him before he dropped his first single, but I told him he has to find a middle ground and do something Nigerian with a lot of flavors in it.”
