    Emeghara plays down link to Fiorentina

    Swiss – Nigerian attacker Innocent Emeghara has reacted to reports linking him with a shift to Fiorentina.

    The ex-Livorno and Siena man has claimed that there has not been any contact with the leadership of the Serie A side regarding a deal .

    “I know nothing, I cannot say anything. Now there are so many teams with which I am in contact.

    “Would I like Fiorentina? Sure, it’s a great team, Florence is a beautiful city, but now I cannot say anything. Rossi is a great player, I’m sorry for what happened to him,” Tuttomercatoweb citing Radio Blu quoted Emeghara as saying.

    The free agent is reportedly on the radar of two other Italian clubs – Cesena and Inter Milan – plus English teams Newcastle United, Sunderland, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.

  • Agent defends Emeghara

    Switzerland international Innocent Emeghara was a hit in his first season in the Serie A, netting 7 goals in 17 appearances for demoted Siena.

    Now defending the colours of Livorno, the 24 – year – old attacker has struggled in the current campaign with only 1 goal in his first 11 matches for the Amaranto.

    Gianluca Di Domenico, the agent of Emeghara has stated that Livorno still have confidence in Emeghara’s abilities even if he is presently experiencing a goal drought.

    Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb.com, the Italian agent said: “Innocent needs balance in judgment, he has all the qualities to play at the highest level in the Italian league.

    “Livorno looks great, plays in a team very well organised and for this reason he is quiet and aware of the fact that at such a time they can stand.”

    Innocent Emeghara is on loan at Livorno until the end of this season.

  • Emeghara wants to remain in Serie A

    Switzerland international striker Innocent Emeghara has reiterated that he wants to remain in the Serie A.

    The 23 – year – old’s 7 goals in 17 matches could not prevent Siena from relegation. It was a foregone conclusion that the Tuscany based club would have retained the services of Emeghara if they were not demoted to Italy’s second – tier.

    Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb.com, Emeghara said: ”I want to play in Serie A. So thinks my agent, Kevin Fioranelli. Definitely my goal is to play in the top flight, next year. I can do better because these six months I have used it to develop. Want to make the leap to my career.’ At Siena I learned a lot and everything will come in useful for the next season.”

    While Emeghara is dreaming of playing for Inter Milan, the reality is that he is wanted by Lazio, Napoli and Fiorentina this summer market.
