    Council distributes free JAMB forms to 300 pupils

    In a move aimed at bolstering educational opportunities for underprivileged youths, the Chairman of Mushin Local Government, Emmanuel Bamigboye, has distributed free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms to 300 indigent students.

    According to the council boss, the distribution underscored the council’s commitment to ensuring financial constraints do not hinder the academic aspirations of its young residents.

    “This initiative is a reflection of our firm commitment to supporting the educational aspirations of our youths and ensuring that financial constraints will not stand as a barrier in actualising their dreams,” he said.

    Bamigboye emphasised the pivotal role of education as “the most powerful tool for personal, societal development and the bedrock of any progressive society.”

    Recognising youths as “the future leaders, innovators, and change-makers of our society,” he noted that the council took it upon itself to invest in their education through the free JAMB form distribution.

    Bamigboye stressed that the goal was to ensure every eligible student in Mushin has a fair chance to pursue higher education and build a brighter future.

    The council boss urged the students to take their studies seriously, emphasising that success is rooted in “hard work, discipline, and dedication.”

    He said: “This initiative is not just about providing educational support; it is about encouraging and inspiring you to take your studies seriously, as the journey to success begins with hard-work, discipline and dedication.

    “I urge you all to make the best use of this opportunity by studying hard, stay focused and strive for excellence in your JAMB Examination and be good Ambassadors of Mushin Local Government. Beyond this JAMB examination, I encourage you to aim higher and never give up on your dreams and promises that our administration will continue to render supports in producing Best Students for Mushin LGA”.

    Bamigboye also lauded parents and teachers for their unwavering support and dedication to the students’ academic growth.

    He further reiterated the council’s continued efforts to improve the standard of education in Mushin communities.

    Mushin holds stakeholders’ forum on budget

    The Chairman of Mushin Local Government, Emmanuel Bamigboye, has said Stakeholders’ Consultative Forum on Budget was designed to ensure inclusivity, transparency, and collaboration in shaping the council’s development priorities for the coming year.

    Bamigboye noted that it provides an opportunity for the council to listen to residents’ concerns, suggestions, and expectations.

    “We take every suggestion seriously, as it has been our practice. During our annual budget retreat, we review all questions and proposals to determine what is achievable. Any issues or damages brought to our attention will be addressed,” he said.

    The council boss urged residents to pay their rates and taxes, adding that these contributions are vital for the council to meet its goals and allocate funds responsibly.

    “We plead with our people to fulfill their civic responsibilities by paying their rates and taxes. This will enable us to meet expectations and allocate public funds appropriately and transparently, as we have promised,” he stated.

    Spokesperson for the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) party, Seyi Oladejo, commended the council for its outstanding performance.

    According to him, “The administration has done remarkably well across sectors like education, healthcare, markets, and sports. We are here to reaffirm our support and encourage them to continue their excellent work, ensuring all projects are completed”.

    A lawmaker, Toyin Fayinka, appealed to residents to support the administration’s efforts by refraining from damaging public infrastructure.

    He said: “I want to appeal to the people of Mushin to continue offering their support and actively demonstrate their commitment. Please avoid damaging these roads so that the development efforts can be sustained for everyone’s benefit”.

    Chairman, Mushin Local Government Area, Emmanuel Bamigboye has held a community development association(CDA) leadership training programme for the grassroots level.

    The programme with the theme:“Leadership training on capacity building at grassroots for CDA’s,” was aimed at impacting great knowledge and values, and change mindsets of the participants on better community relationships.

    Bamigboye, who was represented by his vice, Aruwe Tunbosun, said the training would aid CDAs members on improving attitude, ethical standards and behavioral expectations in the community.

    He urged the participants to work on the knowledge gathered from the training as it would impact the community greatly.

    “I admonish all participants to pay more attention, by taking all the keynotes that you have learnt to your various communities and we can jointly achieve a society that is free of rancour and animosity.Whatever knowledge they acquire here, they should impact it in the lives of the people they’re leading, because they are representing people. They are representing people in their communities, so whatever knowledge they acquire here should be impacted,” he said.

    Chairman, Community Development Associations (CDAs), represented by Marufeedeen Olayinka Alli, lauded the actions of the council chairman for organising the training.

    He added that the trainings gave opportunities for every CDAs to be self aware, thereby creating ways of cohabiting and creating communal bonds that is devoid of ethnic, religious or class diversity.

    “We appreciate the chairman, for giving us this opportunity to be aware and to be able to know the standard of every CDAs. We are very appreciative for this gesture. This training is a very nice one and for we representing each of our community, we are going to deliver any other news we had here to our community for them to know the history of the CDAs in our community.“ he said.
