Besiktas are favourites to snatch Eneramo-reports

According to leaks gathered by allnigeriasoccer.com, a representative of Michael Eneramo claims that Istanbul giants Besiktas are favorites to land the signature of the Nigeria international.

Eneramo’s contract with Sivasspor expires at the end of the season, and this has made him a bride to so many teams.

Though Sivasspor want to extend his stay in eastern Turkey, the player’s wish is to join a club challenging for silverware which would give him an opportunity to play in a European competition.

Right now, Michael Eneramo has offers from unnamed clubs in Russia, Qatar, UAE, Germany as well as teams in Turkey led by Besiktas.

Besiktas, who are in pole position for Eneramo, don’t need to be briefed about his potential.

Once again, the Super Eagle showed his class in the Super League this season, netting 11 goals in 30 matches.

Michael Eneramo has revealed he is yet to decide on where he will play next season as his contract with Sivasspor will expire this summer.

“My contract with Sivasspor expires this summer. I have not decided where I am going to play next season yet,” the Nigeria striker informed MTNFootball.com.

The former Esperance of Tunisia skipper said he is not lacking suitors from across Europe.

Eneramo, who helped his team Sivasspor escape the drop from the Turkish top flight after a 2-1 win over Karabukspor on Monday, said he is happy to have contributed to the team’s survival.

“I feel good and happy to help my team stay in the Super Lig. It has not been so rosy for the team, it was a difficult season for us, but we managed to remain in the top flight,” Eneramo told MTNFootball.com.

Sivasspor now have 43 points from 33 games. Eneramo has scored 12 goals in the league and five in the Cup this season.

    Keshi snubs Eneramo for Akpala

Super Eagles’ Caoch Stephen Keshi has made a shock move to pick Weder Bremen striker Joseph Akpala ahead of in-form Turkey based Michael Eneramo as replacement for injured Emmanuel Emenike, for the busy schedule ahead of the national team .

The Big Boss as Keshi is fondly referred to, told the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) that Akpala ‘brings a lot’ to the table in the absence of the injured Spartak Moscow’s Emenike.

“We’ve handed Akpala a late recall because he brings a lot in the absence of Emenike,” coach Stephen Keshi said.

“It’s very important to give a chance to other players when the opportunity comes.”

Akpala, who made his debut in 2008 has one of his fond memories in the national team colours when his solitary strike ensured rare win for Nigeria over former world Champions France in an international friendly.

After a long stay away, Akpala is now expected to make his return for the Super Eagles in a friendly game in Houston, Texas against Mexico on 31 May.

The African Champions Nigeria face Kenya and Namibia in 2014 World Cup qualifiers in June before heading to Brazil for the Confederations Cup.

Nigeria face Tahiti, Uruguay and Spain in the group stages in Brazil.
