    Eniola Ajao announces ‘Owambe thieves’ film project

    Filmmaker Eniola Ajao has teased fans with a movie announcement premiering in 2025. 

    The actress, who made cinema debut last year, on Instagram page, said she has a new project in the works.

    She said “Owambe Thieves” will be out around Easter. 

    She implored fans to be patient  promising that the movie will be worth the wait.

    The actress expressed gratitude to fans and supporters, stating that she has come prepared to entertain them this year. 

    “She wrote: “The year has started fully o, and it’s a good time to run you some updates; if you’ve not been told, get updated now; Owambe Thieves is coming, and it’s going to be loud.

    “I came prepared for you all this year, and I’m only imploring you to be patient as Easter is just around the corner; wait for it. Owambe Thieves will wow you!”.

    Actress and filmmaker Eniola Ajao has revealed how fake news almost drove her to poisoning herself.

    In an interview on Nollywood on Radio, Ajao revealed that she faced severe emotional distress due to a false rumor about her online, which led to seven-day period without food, withdrawal from social activities and significant emotional pain.

    She said her son and sisters intervened, offering support and urging her to seek help.

    “I almost poisoned myself because there was news about me online that was far from true.

    “It was the first time in my life that I faced something so painful. I didn’t eat for seven straight days. People around me can testify – I didn’t go anywhere.

    “My sisters were calling, telling me, ‘You have to do this for yourself. You don’t have to poison yourself.’ My son was reaching out to everyone, saying I was struggling with this lie online”.

    “I don’t even want to remember those things, honestly”, she recounted on the show”.

    Actress, Eniola Ajao, has explained why she hid her 21-year-old son, Ayomide Daniel, away from social media.

    Ajao, in an interview with Seun Oloketuyi, said her decision stemmed from the supposed stigma attached to being a single mother in the society.

    She said the decision to keep her son off the media space was made a long time ago before venturing into the entertainment industry.

    The actress stated that she became a parent at a young age and felt it might affect her chances of finding a partner if Ayomide is out on social media.

    Ajao noted: “It was something I decided a long time ago before I even considered pursuing a career in the entertainment industry.

    “When I had him, I worried that no man would want to marry me with a child, so I made the decision to keep it private. I kept many aspects of my life out of the public eye, including my son.”

    The movie star added that she eventually revealed her son’s existence to the public after being perceived as a “young girl” by her colleagues who were unaware of her motherhood.

    She said it was important to set the record straight and be authentic about her life.

    Actress Eniola Ajao is in ecstasy after linking up with controversial singer, Habeeb Oyegbile, better known as Portable.

    This is coming after Eniola Ajao made a plea to the singer during the backlash trailing her for naming a transvestite, Bobrisky, ‘Best Dressed Female’ at her ‘Ajakaju’ movie premiere.

    I  a recent video, Eniola Ajao and Portable were captured in a positive atmosphere following the singer’s support for the actress’s cinematic project.

    The video showed them sharing hugs and engaging in conversation as they prepared to watch the movie “Ajakaju” together at the cinema.

    During their interaction, Portable took a light jab at crossdresser Bobrisky, humorously suggesting that Bobrisky thought he was a woman.

    In response, Eniola Ajao playfully accused Portable of profiting more than expected from the song “Brotherhood.”

    “Zazzuu Ti de eyin temi @portablebaeby came out to support and see the movie of the season ‘beast of two worlds (Ajakaju),” she captioned the post.

    Filmmaker Eniola Ajao has pleaded with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to release controversial crossdresser, Bobrisky.

    The Nation reported that Bobrisky was convicted on Friday  for mutilating naira notes at Eniola Ajao’s movie premiere.

    Eniola Ajao via her Instastory wrote: “Woke up very sad. My thoughts and prayers are with Bobrisky this morning. He has been very supportive. He should not be going through any issue as a result of the movie. Maybe I should not title the sequel of #ajakajuthemovie, @ajakajumovie Ajakaju.

    “The gbas-gbos since the premiere and the cinema runs started are on another level; it is another Nollywood story on its own.

    Joseph Benjamin slams Eniola Ajao for using Bobrisky to promote movie

    Actor and show host Joseph Benjamin has slammed Eniola Ajao for further promoting her cinematic movie ‘Ajakaju’ with controversial transgender, Bobrisky.

    The Nation reported that the premiere of ‘Ajakaju’ was overshadowed by controversy after Bobrisky was crowned “best-dressed female” at the ceremony.

    The outrage extended to celebrities who traded words on social media regarding the transvestite win.

    Ajao later apologised for the controversy, stating that Bobrisky’s award was intended as a “publicity stunt”, she also announced new winners for the category.

    However, Bobrisky was recently spotted at a cinema in Ikeja promoting ‘Ajakaju’.

    Reacting to the video, Benjamin posted on X to call out Ajao for allegedly using the crossdresser for the movie promotion.

    He also slammed the filmmaker for allegedly being deceptive about her motives, despite claiming the award was a publicity stunt.

    “I thought Eniola was crying, saying the award was a publicity stunt to market the movie.

    “Now Bobrisky is doing a meet and greet? For the same movie. Who is fooling who please. Smh,” he wrote.

    Embattled actress, Eniola Ajao has expressed deep gratitude as her movie, ‘Beast of Two Worlds’: ‘Ajakaju’ hit a milestone on its first day amid backlashes involving the ‘Best Dressed Female.’

    The Nation reported that the filmmaker had faced severe backlash after crowning the controversial transvestite Bobrisky as the ‘Best Dressed Female’ at the movie’s premiere.

    In a post on her Instagram page, Eniola appreciated the effort of everyone who supported her movie as it marks a milestone of 16M views on its first day at the Box Office.

    While appreciating Nigerians for forgiving her, and the lessons learnt, she praised the likes of Odunlade Adekola, Funke Akindele, and many others.

    She wrote: “The cinema run of AJAKAJU, #beastoftwoworlds has taught me lessons, lessons I will not forget in a hurry. But this is not the time to dish out the lessons because I am not yet an expert at the box office! Leave that to @funkejenifaakindele, @odunomoadekola, @femiadebayosalami, @iyaboojofespris @niyi_akinmolayan, @toyin_abraham and @realmercyaigbe what I am here to do today is to say THANK YOU.     Hours after the launch of embattled actress, Eniola Ajao’s film ‘Ajakaju’ to the cinemas, it has recorded N16 million, making it the highest opening day for a film released in 2024. 

    Sharing the news, actor Odunlade Adekola urged Nigerians to storm the cinemas for the film..

    The Nation reported the movie premiere stirred a lot of controversy after transgender Bobrisky was awarded best-dressed female at the event. 

    Following the heavy criticisms, Eniola tendered a public apology and corrected her mistake by awarding two other females as best-dressed. 

    The movie ‘Beast of Two Worlds (Ajakaju)’ finally hit cinemas nationwide on Friday, March 29, 2024.

    Odunlade, one of the lead casts in the film, shared a screenshot from a cinema’s record showing Eniola’s movie was sold out. 

    Sharing the post on his Instagram page, the actor wrote in a caption: “Still counting AJAKAJU in all cinemas Nationwide.”

    Controversial singer, Portable has shared direct messages actress Eniola Ajao sent to him on Instagram where she admitted that giving Bobrisky ‘Best Dressed Female’ was an intentional act to promote her movie.

    This followed the backlash that trailed the premiere of her movie where the lifestyle influencer, Bobrisky was handed the ‘Best Dressed Female.’

    Addressing the issue in a conversation with Portable, Eniola Ajao affirmed that it was an intentional act to promote her movie.

    According to her, she never imagined it would escalate to “this level but only did so out of desperation and after investing over N200M in her new movie.”

    She said she wasn’t getting help from people, hence, she had to push her craft herself. 

    While almost in tears, Eniola appealed to the general public, admitting her errors and hoping for forgiveness.

    “I am so sorry; the deed has been done. It was not a mistake because I am not a child. It was an intentional act; I have spent over N200M on the film. I know everybody is upset, it was because I just wanted people to talk about the movie because I was not getting help anywhere. The help I didn’t get was why I did it. I didn’t know it would escalate to this point,” she said in part.
