Youths, under the aegis of Epe Concerned Group (ECG), have declared their support for Epe Local Government Chairman, Ms. Surah Animashaun, following her strides in infrastructural development, despite paucity of fund and hardship facing the country, as a result of fuel subsidy removal.
The youth cutting across eight and 19 wards in Epe Local Government and Epe division, said no one could bring down the government of Animashaun, who they said was massively voted into office by the people two and a half years ago.
They declared that Animashaun’s mandate was a product of the majority of Epe residents, who they said, spoke with their votes in support of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the chairmanship election two and a half years ago, promising to vote for her again, as she is vying for second term in office.

The group, in a statement signed by its President-General, Olayemi Toheeb Balogun and Publicity Secretary, Ademola Olanrewaju, warned the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to stop running around and trying to corner the people’s mandate through the campaign of calumny.
The ECG said that the people had already rejected the PDP in their local government, adding that Animashaun made history in the council area through her developmental projects, human face, well-being and welfare of her people.
They said she had made a good record in the history of councils in Lagos State.
The group stated that though it is non-partisan, its stance for truth, justice and progress of Epe Local Government will not afford it to keep quiet in the face of orchestrated attempt to steal the mandate of the people through mere blackmailing.
“Indeed, she surpassed her predecessors like Segun Agbaje, Adedoyin Adesanya and others in term projects execution, well-being and welfare of the people of the council. She has commissioned many projects in the local government area, which other local government can not boast of, so as she is vying for second term in office, let’s give her another support for the betterment of our council area.’’
“And, we have discovered the evil effort of some sets of politicians and opposition figures to tarnish the image of the local government council Chairman through unguided utterances and sheer blackmailing, we need to support her for second term in office, so as to move the council to the greater heights,” President-General said .
The group said that they view the activities of these individuals in the opposition party within and outside the council area as undemocratic and anti-people, as they are trying not only to sabotage the efforts of the Chairman to restore the glory of the council but also take over the Chairman seat through blackmailing and propaganda.
