    Ex-agitator greets Oluyede on promotion

Mayor of Urhoboland, Eshanekpe Israel a.k.a Akpodoro, has congratulated Acting Chief of Army Staff, Major General Oluwafemi Oluyede, who has been promoted to Lieutenant General by President Bola Tinubu.

Akpodoro issued a statement in Ughelli, Delta State, yesterday, noting General Oluyede’s promotion was a divine call to serve his fatherland.

He hailed the elevation of a man seen as a model in service delivery, moral probity, professional prowess and outstanding track records.

The acting Army chief, he noted, was a ‘‘dedicated statesman with a nationalistic approach in his career, a blend of astuteness and top-notch expertise capable of making a difference in the war against insurgency, banditry and sundry crimes in the country.

His appointment, according to Akpodoro, marks an end to security lapses and the reign of terror, noting that the President had much confidence in the capacity and professional well-being of the Army.

The mayor called on the Army chief to consider the welfare and well-being of soldiers, file the rough edges – if any,  and position the institution for efficiency, productivity, diligence and optimal performance to defend “our national integrity and sovereignty, and foster peace and unity in an egalitarian nation where no man is oppressed.”

Akpodoro noted that the stability of the nation rests on the military, particularly the Army, and with General Oluyede in the saddle, there’s hope the nation would recover from insurgency, banditry and the band of secessionists.

Nigerians, he said, are united in the President’s drive to deliver a nation where our hopes are renewed to usher sustainable growth and development.

He praised the President for choosing Oluyede from qualified personnel prepared to back him in delivering Nigeria from modest rebellion.

“I greet the Acting Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Oluyode, whose appointment is in furtherance to the hardwork of his predecessor, General Taoreed Lagbaja, of blessed memory.

‘Otuaro’s prudence in Amnesty reason for attack’

Head of Association of Family Mayoral Crown (AFMC), Eshanekpe Israel a.k.a Akpodoro, has said ‘reactionary elements’ are attacking Administrator of Presidential Amnesty Programme, Dennis Otuaro, for his prudent management as against past profligacy.

Akpodoro, in a statement in Abuja, noted: “Gone were days the management spent millions of naira to celebrate birthdays’’, saying Otuaro knows rudiments of productive management.

In his reaction to calls from “reactionaries to sack Otuaro, he said nothing could be more evil than to malign a reformer like Otuaro, who does things right and treat everyone under the programme equally. ‘‘

The programme, Akpodoro said, suffered years of looting from past managers and their collaborators.

He noted that some persons positioned themselves to grandstand and loot the office but unfortunately, they found Otuaro impervious, building a strong and  reliable Amnesty.

National Coalition of Strategic Governance (NCSG), had, in a petition to President Bola Tinubu and National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, signed by its Publicity Secretary, Kola Mustafa, called for  suspension of Otuaro for ‘very ridiculous reasons.’

He noted that the faceless, group is making “vain efforts at disparaging the Amnesty boss”, saying “we know the sponsor of the lies. It is borne out of envy against Chief Government Ekpemukpolo a.k.a Tomopolo  and his Tantita Security Services through which former untouchables were chased out of the business of oil theft.”

He called on  the President to discountenance such “puerile and badly concocted self-serving petition…”

Ribadu, Akpodoro said, is vast in security expertise to discern the inherent evils in the mind of the acclaimed author.
