    Eterna appoints Adeosun MD

    The board of directors of Eterna Plc has announced the appointment of Olumide Adeosun as the new Managing Director of the company.

    In a statement by the Company’s Secretary and Legal Adviser, David Edet, the appointment takes effect from February 3, 2025.

    Prior to this appointment, Adeosun served as Group Executive Director of Rainoil Limited and as a Non-Executive Director of Eterna Industries Limited.

    He is the immediate past Chairman of the Major Energy Marketers Association of Nigeria (MEMAN) and an advocate for clean energy, serving on the advisory boards of renewable energy firms and consultancies.

    Adeosun is a finance and energy expert with over 25 years of experience in the sectors.

    Highlighting his career and achievements, the statement read: “Mr. Adeosun began his career as a Business Analyst under the PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) UK graduate programme in London.

    “He subsequently transitioned to BP Plc, where he held various senior roles in upstream finance, business support, and commercial operations.  In BP’s Strategic Origination team, he played a pivotal role in developing BP’s Africa trading strategy, culminating in the establishment of BP Global West Africa Ltd in Nigeria.

    “As Vice President, Commercial Development, he spearheaded initiatives that achieved a 300 per cent growth in revenue within three years.

    “In 2015, Mr. Adeosun joined PwC’s West Africa Energy Advisory team in Lagos, leading transactions that raised over $1.5 billion in infrastructure and energy investments.

    “Among his achievements was overseeing the acquisition of a leading multinational midstream and downstream company.  In 2019, he was appointed CEO of Ardova Plc, where he executed a five-year transformation strategy with a focus on LPG and renewable energy.

    “He also led the successful bid for a majority stake in the Olua Field on OML 25, establishing a joint venture with other shareholders in record time.” 

    Adeosun is a Member of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Directors, and a Member of the Society for Petroleum Engineers (SPE), and holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Woodbury University, California, and an MSc in Mathematics from Royal Holloway, University of London.

    Eterna Plc begins ‘Into-Plane’ JET A1 operations

    Eterna PLC, an integrated energy provider, has commenced “into-plane” Jet-A1 fuel operations at Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA) in Lagos. This follows the successful commissioning of the Joint User Hydrant Installation 2 (JUHI-2) facility which boasts a storage capacity of 15 million liters of Jet A1 fuel.

    The company’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Abiola Lawal, expressed excitement about the company’s new operations in jet fuel operations and reaffirmed its commitment to delivering exceptional service to its customers.

    In a statement made available to The Nation, Lawal stated that Eterna PLC is thrilled to announce two remarkable milestones in its journey within the aviation fueling sector. He said that following the successful commissioning of JUHI-2, his firm now has full regulatory approval to commence into-plane operations. The approval, he noted,  reflects its dedication to upholding the highest industry standards, ensuring safe, efficient and reliable fueling services for airlines.

    “We are excited about this development. Our first fueling operation, just concluded, represents a significant step in demonstrating our readiness to serve the aviation sector safely and reliably.

    It is noteworthy that the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, recently commissioned the JUHI-2 facility, which is the largest airside jet fuel depot in Nigeria. The facility has the capacity to deliver a minimum of 150 million liters of ATK monthly, amounting to 20 per cent of the nation’s annual sales volume in one month.

    The companies that collaborated as consortium partners to establish the JUHI-2 depot include Eterna PLC, Masters Energy Oil & Gas, Techno Oil & Gas, Rahamaniyya Oil & Gas, Ibafon Oil, Quest Oil Group, and First Deep Water Limited.

    Eterna Plc has announced the appointment of Mr. Abiola Lukman Lawal, an oil executive and economist to succeed Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Benjamin Nwaezeigwe, who resigned after two years of service.

    The board thanked Nwaezeigwe for his contributions to the company during his tenure.

    Lawal has a proven record in executive leadership at multiple C-Suite level roles locally and internationally.

     A global executive with over 25 years in private and publicly companies, Lawal has experience in oil & gas and a record of value delivery in aspects of executive management.

    Lawal worked with Eroton Exploration and Production  as deputy managing director & chief Financial officer. He was group chief Strategy officer of Oando during its transformation from downstream to upstream and gas.

    While at Oando, he oversaw the successful implementation of Oracle ERP technology as a game changer to transform the operations of the company. He also served as Executive Director of Oando Gas & Power as well as Gaslink (now known as Axxella) during the rapid growth and expansion phase of the then subsidiary.
