    My journey as a celebrity voiceover artist – Ewoma Oyegwa

    Celebrity voiceover artist, Ewoma Oyegwa, has summed up her professional career as uplifting and stirring to go for more in the future.

    The Isoko-born is blazing the trail in an industry in which she has carved a unique niche for herself.

    Ewoma Oyegwa, the youngest sibling in his family, primarily became a voiceover specialist not by her own volition, but a calling instigated by her deep connection with radio and other media content in the past. She understood the relationship in evoking emotions through hee voice and the people, while playing character to a script, either on radio or as a voiceover artist.

    Ewoma Oyegwa, who is also a creative producer and presenter, recalled that back in secondary school days, she had no idea that voiceover artistry existed. However, she worked towards becoming the newest charming voice on radio and behind unforgettable jingles and adverts, by consciously dedicating himself to training her voice and mastering words.

    “Since childhood, I’ve been captivated by the power of film, television, music, and radio to evoke emotions, provoke thought, and inspire change. Growing up, I found solace and joy in immersing myself in various forms of entertainment, whether it was through watching animated movies or just listening to the radio,” she said.

    “As I matured, I realized that the ability to bring scripts to life is a truly remarkable gift. I was drawn to the idea of using my creativity to entertain, inspire, and perhaps even challenge audiences to see the world from different perspectives. Whether it’s through voice acting, audio production, presenting, or any other facet of the entertainment industry, I am continuously inspired by the opportunity to contribute to the rich tapestry of human experience.

    “Ultimately, my journey into the entertainment industry is fueled by a genuine love for the art form and a desire to make a positive impact on the world through the stories we tell and the connections we forge with audiences across the globe.

    “After completing my secondary education in 2009, I embarked on a journey to gain practical experience in the industry. I started by working in different roles ranging from host events and taking role of doing the church announcements. These experiences provided me with invaluable insights into the intricacies of being a presenter and honed my skills.

    “As I continued to immerse myself in the world of media, I had the opportunity to visit a radio station. I was listening to a radio show called The Dance Party hosted by IK Osakioduwa on Rhythm 93.7 Lagos. 

    “He gave a listener a chance to come cohost the morning show with him. That visit made me realized that my true passion lays here. I was drawn to how interesting and captivating the radio world was. And I said to myself “this is where I want to be,” the celebrity voiceover artist said. 

    In just over a decade, the determination and perseverance to follow her passion has propelled the Computer Science graduate of Lagos City Polytechnic to heights beyond her wildest imagination.

    Over the years, the celebrity voiceover artist has been involved in mind-blowing wide range of projects, from handling the production of imaging materials and being the official voice of a couple radio stations like Cool FM Nigeria (2013 – 2018); Red Radio by United Bank for Africa (2017 – 2018); Max FM Nigeria, TVC Entertainment (2018 – present), just to name a few. 

    She has also been the host of radio and TV shows. Currently, she hosts a music countdown show on Max FM102.3 Lagos and Max FM 90.9 Abuja.

     Ewoma Oyegwa produced and voiced radio and television commercials, E-learning courses, IVRs, explainer videos for big brands such as Jumia, Access Bank, UBA, GTCO, Power Oil, Indomie, 5 Alive, MTN Nigeria, Redbull etc, with each project posing its own unique challenges and opportunities. However, through dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to excellence, she has been able to consistently deliver high-quality content that resonates with audiences.

    “My professional journey has been nothing short of exhilarating. With over 11 years of experience in the media industry, I’ve had the privilege of working on diverse projects and collaborating with brilliant minds. From being a creative producer , presenter and official voice of Cool FM Nigeria in 2013 to being the Team lead of the creative Production department at TVC Communications (Max FM 102.3 lagos 90.9 Abuja) in 2018, each role has contributed to my growth and honed my skills as a media personality.

    A celebrity voiceover artist, Ewoma Oyegwa, has spoken on how exposure and consumption of radio content inspired her present status despite not  having prior knowledge that such profession existed while in secondary school.

    Wowed by the power of the broadcast media, it was not long before Ewoma Oyegwa found passion about bringing life to script herself. The emotion and connection she felt listening to radio pushed her to dream of utilising her voice and giving life to character in the same manner as a voiceover specialist.

    With no influence between being a Computer Science graduate from Lagos City Polytechnic and a master voiceover artist, she summed up it all up as the profession rather choosing her. It synchs as a path destiny has carved out for her, which she must follow to fulfill her potentials. While waiting for an opportunity to manifest, a contact with popular radio and television host, IK Osakioduwa, on Rhythm 93.7, finally ignited the fire in her.

    “My journey began with a passion for listening to the radio. However, I had no idea what Voiceovers or creative production was about. I never knew that kind of profession existed. It all started when I was still in the 1990s while in secondary school. I was always fascinated by the power and the ability of how listening to the radio can evoke emotions and impact lives”, said Ewoma Oyegwa in an interview.

    “Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working on a wide range of projects, from handling the production of the imaging materials and being the official voice of a couple radio stations like Cool FM Nigeria (2013 – 2018) Red Radio by United Bank for Africa (2017 – 2018), Max FM Nigeria, TVC Entertainment (2018 – present) just to name a few.
