Former Italian international Fabio Cannavaro has revealed that he rejected an offer to coach the Super Eagles.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has been looking for a suitable hand to fill the vacant Super Eagles’ managerial position after former Nigeria International, Finidi George, stepped down in June in controversial circumstance.
Ever since, many foreign coaches have been linked with the job and only recently, German coach Bruno Labbadia equally turned down the offer to manage the three time African champions.

But in a reported interview with famous Italian pink paper, La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 2006 Italy World Cup winner revealed that he had received offers to coach the Nigeria national team and Iranian clubs after leaving Udinese in May, adding he would rather wait until the end of the year for offers from Italian and European clubs before considering proposals from other continents.
“Udinese are doing as well as I expected because they are strong,” said the former defender.
“I had offers from Nigeria [national team] and Iranian clubs, but I want to wait for Serie A and European clubs until December. After that, I may start travelling again.”
