    How 2025 ‘shattered my heart’, says Actress Fathia Williams

    Actress Faithia Williams has expressed heartfelt gratitude to her friends, family, and fans as she reflects on the past year.

    In an Instagram post, Williams acknowledged the challenges of 2025, saying the year had tested her deeply with both highs and lows.

    Despite personal losses, including the passing of a cherished colleague, Williams said her heart is “overflowing with gratitude” for the support she received.

    She lauded her fans, friends, and colleagues for standing by her, saying their messages, prayers, and support had helped her through difficult times.

    Looking ahead to 2026, Williams declared the new year “the beginning of better things” and “the glorious dawn of Faithia 2.0!” 

    She wrote, “Even while my heart aches with the absence of my cherished colleague, in the face of immense loss, I cannot help but express my appreciation to all my friends, family, and colleagues for the journey of 2025.

    “My dearest fans, friends, family, and colleagues. As 2025 comes to a close, my heart is overflowing with gratitude. This year tested me deeply, with highs that lifted my soul and valleys that shattered my heart, but through it all, you stood by me. You prayed, you cheered, you defended, you loved me fiercely when I needed it most. Your messages healed me, your support carried me, and your belief reminded me why I do this.

    “To my amazing fans: You are my strength, my joy, my family. To my friends: You held me in my darkest moments. To my colleagues: You inspired and elevated me every day.

    “Because of you, I ended 2025 stronger, wiser, and full of faith. Thank you from the deepest part of my heart. I love you beyond words.

    Popular actress Faithia Williams announced the death of her father today, Tuesday, April 23.

    The mother of two shared an image of candlelight, symbolising her grief, on her Instagram page to announce the sad news.

    Captioning the post, she wrote: “With a heavy heart, I am sad to say goodnight to my loving father. May his gentle soul rest in peace.”

    Actress Chioma Chukwuka has celebrated the birthday of her colleague, Faithia Williams by recounting the kind gesture of the celebrator some years ago. 

    Celebrating her 53rd birthday, Chioma narrated her helpful encounter in the UK with the mother of two.

    In the post via her Instagram page, the thespian said she went with movie practitioners to the United Kingdom with a her six-month-old baby for the premiere of a movie and didn’t know how to navigate the whole trip.

    However, Faithia Williams cared for her and the baby like they were related by blood, adding that the actress also ensured they were comfortable on the trip.

    She wrote: “There is one act of love I got from @faithiawilliams that I will never forget. In the month of October 2007, a group of Nollywood film practitioners travelled to the United Kingdom for the first Nollywood Premiere Ever in Leicester square “Across The Niger”. I had my 6 month old baby with me and had no clue how I would navigate the whole trip especially when it was my first trip ever outside Nigeria and was alone with my child.

    “God sent Aunty Fathia ! She was an Angel in disguise (still is) She took care of me like I was her flesh and blood. Cared for me and my child like she would her own. She went everywhere with us, most times carrying my son herself. She knew instantly when he needed to be fed and when it was time for a nappy change and nap time too.

    “She would rock him to sleep . Aunty Faithia always came to check on us in the room, mostly to see that I wasn’t baking my son because I always turned the heating so high as it was very cold at that time of the year ( I hate the cold ). She was intentional with her love and care towards us. These are gestures that make life beautiful. They can never be forgotten.”

    Seasoned Nollywood actress, Fathia Williams has left a comment on the birthday post of her estranged husband and father of her children, Saidi Balogun, who is celebrating his birthday today, Monday, February 5.

    Both actors mark another year in their lives and have taken to social media to share their celebrations.

    In a lengthy post on his Instagram page, Saidi described the past year as a roller coaster with highs and lows, curves and bends.

    Despite the challenges, he expressed gratitude that his engine keeps moving forward without faltering.

    The Yoruba actor extended his birthday wishes not only to himself but also to all Aquarians worldwide, particularly those born in February and those sharing his special day.

    He said: “All those who are born in February hands up. Life has been a roller coaster with highs and lows, curves, and bends. But the engine keeps moving, it never topples. Ground solid, no sinking. Dogs barking, sometimes biting, it never penetrates but breaks their teeth. Why, because I dwell under the shadow of Almighty Allah S.W.T, the author of my destiny.

    “Another year added, I celebrate with all Aquarius worldwide, All February born especially February 5. Happy birthday to us. Taking to his comment section, Faithia Williams wished him a happy birthday writing, “Happy birthday SB.”

    Marking her own celebration, Faithia took to her Instagram page to post a video of herself dancing.

    He said: “Embracing another year of growth, laughter, and cherished moments. Here’s to celebrating life’s beautiful journey on my special day.”

    In another post, she wrote: I’m the only one person I can trust the most because I know myself perfectly and even how strong I can be. Hope this year will be interesting and full of adventures.     Famous Nollywood actress, Fathia Williams, has shared her experience with working with her colleague, Funke Akindele on her recently dropped cinema movie ‘A Tribe Called Judah’.

    Fathia recounted how enjoyable and seamless it was working with Akindele on a movie production, adding that the latter has very high demands.

    Williams made this known during an interview with Legit.

    She said: “This isn’t my first time working with Funke Akindele; I have been working with her since like forever. Working with her was comfortable; I know she has very high demands, and her directing me was like my sister directing me. It was easy for me to communicate with her because she understands your limitations and how to go about it. So, no problem at all working with her.”

    Speaking about the movie, Faithia Williams said, ‘A Tribe Called Judah,’ attempts to correct prominent notions about single mothers and raising good children.

    She said: “A Tribe Called Judah is a fight for women, especially single women. It is an attempt to correct the prominent notion about single women/single mothers. The movie intends to tell a story that single mothers can raise good children who will go on to achieve great things in life. In society, single women are not respected, so Funke is trying to tell people that single women are human beings.”

    What is new is the reason behind the big step. Believed to be a welcome step among Yoruba movie practitioners, the duo of Yinka Quadri, and Fathia Williams, are presently undergraduates at Ogun State University, now Olabisi Onabanjo University.

    Both thespians were persuaded to go back for their higher education in order to keep pace with their counterparts in the English sector of Nollywood; which is believed to be dominated by Igbos. Information reaching us has it that there is a new body for movie practitioners, Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Producers’ Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), It is believed that TAMPAN will progress faster than ANTP. This is one of the reasons many of its actors are going back to school.

    Fathia Williams; who is studying English Language, in a statement, revealed that the decision is in line with her plan to start a film school while Yinka Quadri sees it as an opportunity to perfect his acting skills and film production.

    It appears a new wind of ‘rebranding’ is sweeping through the Yoruba movie sector of Nollywood. First, it was actress Fathia Balogun, who reverted to her maiden name, Fathia Williams, after years of marital problems with her estranged husband Saidi Balogun.

    Surprisingly, just as fans of the Delta State-born actress were trying to come to terms with the name change, another top Yoruba actress, Iyabo Ojo, last Wednesday, shocked her fans and loved ones with her post on the Facebook.

    For many of her fans, it is as if the mother of two has also caught the bug of name change, which has crept into the Yoruba movie sector.

    The sexy actress, who opened a salon, FEPRIS World, on Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos, last year, announced that she would no longer use the name of her production outfit, Iya Ojo Production, for her subsequent works. Her words: “I will not be using Iyabo Ojo Production as my movie production name. FESPRIS is my new production name henceforth, as I will be dropping the name soon.”

    The star of Agogo Ide added that her forthcoming movies, Tenbelu and Silence, would be produced under the stable of FEPRIS Production.

    There have been speculations that she might remarry. So, against the backdrop of her disclosure, particularly on the fact that she would soon drop the name, Ojo, the question on the lips of many is: What is in a name?

    Fathia Williams, who broke up with her ex-husband, Saidi Balogun, hails from Ukwara, Water Side Local Government area of Delta State.

    The multiple award-winning actress has featured in a number of movies, including Àsírí Owó (The Secret of Wealth), Critical Condition, Ìrírí mi (My Experience), Agbara Ife (The Power of Love), Inu Obinrin (The Heart of a Woman) and Okun Ife (The Cord of Love).
