Aggreh terminates FC IfeanyiUbah contract over unpaid salaries

Prince Aggreh has told SportingLife that he has ended his contract with FC IfeanyiUbah over his unpaid eight month salaries.
Aggreh joined FC IfeanyiUbah from Kano Pillars at the beginning of 2016/2017 Nigeria professional Football League (NPFL) season on a two-year deal.
The former Sunshine Stars of Akure winger revealed that the club suddenly stopped his salary without any prior notice to that effect.
Aggreh explained that he has reported the matter to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the League Management Company (LMC) but no favourable result, adding that he has applied FIFA rules to decide his fate when he noticed that the club is not ready to respond to his plight.
“He cannot pay salary and he owed me 8 months’ salary so I have terminated my contract and leaves the club to continue my career elsewhere. I don’t know the reason but he just stopped the salaries without notification. That is wickedness and heartless of him and he want players to remain and play for him this season,” Aggreh told SportingLife
He added: “The FIFA rules say if club cannot pay you for 3 months then you are a free player. So in my case it is 8 months (salaries). I when to NFF and LMC all they will say is that they will look at the matter and up till now they have not give me my clearance.
“The club cannot pay player for 8 months, NFF and LMC cannot do anything. Even when the man refused to give me my clearance I went to the NFF and LMC and everyday they will tell me next week, next week and up till now they have not give me my clearance.”

  • Football enthusiasts berate FC IfeanyiUbah players’ performance

A cross-section of football enthusiasts in Nnewi on Sunday expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of FC IfeanyiUbah in spite of the club’s 1-0 defeat of Rangers International FC of Enugu.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Nnewi-based Anambra Warriors scored the lone goal from a penalty kick by Prince Aggrey.

The Warriors, who were largely on the defensive due to the Flying Antelopes’ firepower, had missed scoring from a poorly-taken penalty kick by Seka Pascal in the 45th minute.

One of the fans who spoke to NAN, Uchenna Okonkwo, blamed the team’s poor marksmanship on their high turn-over of players, saying this made them to be uncoordinated during the game.

“It’s a fact they won, but FC IfeanyiUbah don’t deserve it. Rangers played better.

“They are not playing like a team and the coach seems not to be in charge,” he said.

Another football enthusiast, who said he was simply Godwin, noted that the game was not interesting because of questionable calls by the referee.

Godwin called on the League Management Company (LMC) to take a closer look at those entrusted with handling games as they were not encouraging its development.

“The officiating was poor. So many questionable and unnecessary calls. I enjoy good football, no matter who is winning, but if it is like this in Europe, we won’t be spending time to watch their games.

“But the way people left the game here after the first half did not show that all is well. Even the penalty kick awarded the home team could not keep them back,” he said.

Coach of the Enugu-based Rangers side, Imama Amapakabo, on his part hailed the performance of his players, adding that they did their best.

Amapakabo however urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to monitor the performance of match officials.

“Some people are pulling the league back. The NFF should monitor games. I think the referee was responsible for FC IfeanyiUbah’s win,” he said.

On his part, coach Yaw Preko of FC IfeanyiUbah called on his team’s supporters to get behind the team as they needed their support.

Preko said what was important was getting the maximum three points in a game against the competition’s defending champions.

  • NPFL: MFM Coach accepts defeat to IfeanyiUbah FC

Coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu has taken full responsibility for MFM’s 4-0 defeat to FC Ifeanyiubah in Matchday 2 fixture of the 2016/17 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) played in Nnewi on Wednesday, January 18.
The MFM Coach was obviously unhappy with how events unfolded in the encounter that saw two of his key players sustaining Injuries in the first half of the exchange, has accepted the blame for the loss as he focused on the next league match.
In an interview Ilechukwu said: ” For yesterday’s game, I have to take the blame because I introduced new players to the starting line-up who didn’t start against Niger Tornadoes and that was the problem.
“I did that because of the marathon nature of the league, so I decided to start new five players so that I can rest some players for the next game but at the end it turned that way.
“Secondly, in the first half, two of our players were injured and that forced me to change the game plan by bringing in two players and the changes really affected my tactics and game plan but at the end of the day excuses can’t help the situation.
“So I take the blame for everything that has happened and the loss against FC Ifeanyiubah,” he told mountaintopfc.com.
MFM FC will host Lobi Stars in Matchday 3 of the NPFL coming up this Sunday, at the Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium in Lagos and the manager has said that his side have no option other than winning.
“We can’t expect anything less than winning because we can’t lose 4-0 and come to our home and draw or lose.
“The thing here is that we have put the loss behind us and concentrate on the next match which I believe by God’s grace winning is 100 per cent sure,” the Nnewi born tactician stated.
