    On Saturday, May 31, the Lagos Continental on Victoria Island brought a dream night to football lovers who had dreamt of a worthy champions league final, as music stars Fido and Wande Coal, thrilled fans at the Heineken-backed watch centre.

    Backed by Heineken, the UEFA Champions League 2025 final came to life in style with a high-energy watch party that honoured the passion of real hardcore fans.

    Held in Lagos and simultaneously across viewing centres in Abuja, Port Harcourt, Benin City, Asaba, Aba, Enugu, and Jos, this year’s Cheers to the Hardcore Fans campaign grand finale delivered an exciting combination of football and entertainment.

    Post-match, the atmosphere turned celebratory, as the event transitioned into an after party. Hosted by the ever-energetic Sheye Banks, the night featured electrifying performances by Fido and the Wande Coal. DJ Big N kept the energy high with non-stop hits, while the Heineken influencers, Yemi Cregx, Sheggz Olusemo, Mike Afolarin, Saga Deolu and Diana Eneje mingled with fans and proudly repped the best premium beer, Heineken.

    Fast-rising singer Fido has asserted that his success is solely due to his efforts and God’s grace, dismissing any claims that someone else discovered him. 

    Fido emphasised that he recognized his talent and potential, calling any assertion to the contrary a scam. He firmly stated that no human being can take credit for his rise to fame.

    Urging his followers to be cautious, Fido warned against individuals who might try to claim responsibility for his success, reiterating that only God holds the key to his achievements.

    The singer’s statement on the social media platform X reads: “Fido wrote on X: ‘Nobody discovered me, na me discover myself, anywhere you see say person talk say na dem discover me, na scam oo.

    Na God discover me not man. No, let them scam you oooooo. #onlyGod is the key”.

    Fido opens up on ordeal with marketing company

    Fast rising singer Fido has warned his followers about the alleged deceitful practices of some marketing companies.

    According to Fido, these companies allegedly manipulate artists into believing they are the reason behind their success, making them feel indebted and dependent.

    Fido, on X, claimed that marketing companies make artists feel like they are the ones helping them when, in reality, the artists are generating income for the companies.

    He emphasises that artists should be aware of their worth and the value they bring to the table.

    Fido also warned his followers that once an artist appears to be self-sufficient and aware of their capabilities, the marketing companies will turn against them and will allegedly try to tarnish the artist’s reputation and make them look bad in the public eye.

    Fido wrote on X: “Marketing company go make you feel like na them Dey help your life, whereas na you Dey make money for them, dem go still make you feel like say without them you no go fit make am. My brothers and sisters, open your eyes and be wise. The day you show to them you know what you’re doing, they turn your enemies, and they paint you bad out there. #shineyoureyes”.

    In a follow-up statement, Fido emphasised the importance of marketing in the music business but expressed his concerns about the exploitative tactics used by some marketing companies.

    Fido claimed that a marketing company was trying to control him as if they had signed him and are stealing from him.

    He alleged that these companies are collecting 70% of his show money, leaving him with only 30%.

    Furthermore, Fido stated that these companies do not want him to see the backend of how his music revenue is generated.

    Fido’s statement reads: “Marketing is very important in the music business, I’m not discrediting the effort of marketing companies, but which one is, marketing company trying to control me like they signed me, steal from me. How will a marketer be collecting 70% of all my show money and me, the artist, get 30% + they don’t want me to see the backend of how my music revenue is generating…Who does that?”

    Fast-rising music sensation, Fido, has dismissed claims that he is a one-hit wonder, stating that his latest hit, Joy is Coming, proves otherwise.

    Fido, who first gained recognition with his breakout single Awolowo, admitted that doubts arose when his follow-up track, Mr. Lover, did not achieve the same level of success. However, he attributed the song’s slow performance to a shift in promotional strategy.

    “We had to put the marketing for Mr. Lover on hold and focus more on pushing Awolowo at the time,” he explained. “At some point, I felt I could always return to promoting Mr. Lover because it’s still my song. But then, I started hearing people say, ‘Fido na one-hit wonder,’ so we decided to drop a fresh track instead. Mr. Lover is a banger if you really listen to it.”

    Looking ahead, Fido revealed that he is set to release a five-track EP in February.

    “I have my body of work ready, and by God’s grace, I’ll be dropping it in February,” he said.
